    Falafel combo
    Rupa N.

I've driven past Downtown Shawarma plenty of times and finally decided to stop by one day. I ordered the falafel combo, which came with fries and a drink. The owner and chef were both very friendly and even sparked a conversation about their food. The falafel was full of flavor, and the sauces were good. I do wish the fries were served on the side instead of underneath the falafel. Overall, it's a great spot for Lebanese/Syrian food. Keep in mind it's a food truck, though they do have a few covered seating areas. There's also a parking lot right next to them, which is super convenient.

first time and will return for my shawarma cravings. everything was really good and fresh. the garlic sauce was top tier. the chicken could use a pinch more flava. the set up and service was great if you wanna stay and eat.

Amazing food truck! The service was great and the owner was very kind and generous host. Very delicious food, would recommend to anyone in the DFW area!

    Mixed Shawarma Plate

The food was great and the service was excellent. We both had the mixed shawarma plates. The salad was an unexpected surprise, killer taste. 10/10 will be back for sure!

After a month of drinking my way through Europe 25 years ago, and grabbing shwarma wraps after beers at different spots at least half the nights and early mornings, I was absolutely hooked on them. Unfortunately, on my return home, I was unsuccessful in finding anything as similar and as satisfying in north Texas. Until today! I would've preferred lamb but their chicken shwarma perfectly hit the spot and finally scratched a decades-old itch. Can't wait to try everything on their menu!

Mixed Shawarma Bowl with beef and lamb.

This food truck is literally a two minute walk from my apartment. I have been waiting to eat there for a while and I am glad I finally did it. I had the mixed Shawarma bowl with beef and lamb. It is served on a bed of rice with both the beef and the lamb on top with fresh pita on the top. The two side containers had pickled jalapeños and peppers, but the best part of the whole dish was the other side, which was a salad that was a mixture of corn, black olives, red onions, some sauce, and lettuce. It was amazing. All the ingredients were fresh, and I watched him prepare the dish in front of me. I was served with great joy and enthusiasm, and I look forward to making this a regular place moving forward.

Truly a 10/10 experience -- Downtown Shawarma is easily one of my new favorite spots! I can't say enough good things about the food AND the service. I called in my order (which I highly recommend doing), and the owner was so kind and accommodating. I asked to sub rice for salad on one of the plates, and he was super nice about it -- no hesitation at all. You can tell they care about their customers and take pride in what they serve. I ordered fries, two mix platters, and two shawarma plates, and every single thing I tried was amazing. * The fries were perfect -- crispy, hot, and seasoned just right. 10/10. * The mix platters completely blew me away -- seriously, 20/10. So much flavor, generous portions, and beautifully balanced. * The shawarma plates were also great -- juicy, tender meat, fresh sides, and flavorful sauces. I'd give them a solid 9.5/10. But the real star? The shawarma chicken. It was perfectly cooked, packed with flavor, and just melts in your mouth. Once I took my first bite, I couldn't stop -- the food was just that good. I honestly didn't get enough pictures because I was too busy eating! The customer service was amazing, too. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and you can feel the good vibes when you walk in. They go above and beyond to make sure you're happy with your order. If you haven't been to Downtown Shawarma yet, GO. It's worth it. I'll absolutely be back, and I'll be bringing friends next time. 100% recommend!

"The Gastro Bomber is serving up traditional pub grub with a Texas twist and the customary pub…read moreculture...good music and friendly conversation!" - From GB's FB page. So yesterday (10/3/2012) Keller had it's first pop-up food truck event. I was very happy to catch wind of it, for I'm usually late to the party when it comes to events. In attendance were Gastro Bomber and So-Cal Tacos (http://www.yelp.com/biz/so-cal-tacos-fort-worth). My plan was to order something from each truck, one as a way to show support, and two, well because I'm a glutton and wanted to try both. I looked over both menus and came to a decision. From GB it was going to be the Chicken and Waffle Sandwich. I've been wanting C&Ws forever, from anywhere, and tonight was finally my night to try this item. The first thing to point out is it was not really a "sandwich" unless you want to stretch it and call it an open-faced sandwich. Second, it was not a full-sized waffle, but rather something rectangular. It consisted of three pieces of boneless chicken and a drizzle of maple syrup. Cost, $8. It was very good. The chicken was tender and the waffle delicious. What I noticed, and confirmed, is that there is corn meal in the waffle batter. I was told this is the Southern twist they like to add to there food. It was like Belgian cornbread. Yummy! Now I will add my wife's comment, which seem to be true of all food trucks, is that the cost to quantity ratio seems to be a little high. Three large tenders on essentially half a waffle for 8 bucks seems a bit much. Now I came up with a new take on the cost and that is this; One, your getting to try something new and somewhat unique. Two, and here's the kicker, your bottom line cost is perhaps a bit less than if you sat down in a restaurant. If tips are expected at food trucks, I did not see any obvious vessel for the cash to go in. You can bring your own drinks, and thus your bottom line for a unique dining experience really is not bad. I for one am glad this came together. I was excited when I learned that Keller might be getting it's own food truck park, and was disappointed when I learned the plans were not approved. Somehow I think Keller's loss will be Roanoke's gain (Actually Corina T., aka the "shark lady", who I met at this event said that). From this point forward I will keep track of food trucks coming to Keller, and there are definitely a few more items on GB's menu I would like to try (Irish Nachos, Shepherd's Pie Croquettes, Fish and Chips, Picanha Sandwich). PS. If you missed it, they will be back in the same spot (at the CVS at the NE corner of 1709 and Rufe Snow) next week, 10/10/2012 from 5 to 8PM. One quick tip: Do bring your own chairs!

It's hard for me to step outside of the box sometimes, especially when you've got whack food-allergies. Let me enlighten you on these Churrasco Street Tacos. The tortillas are fresh and not bland, the meat (I've tried both chicken and beef skirt) is seasoned generously and just right, the shredded lettuce is bright and crunchy, and they definitely don't skimp on the cheese! Plus there's a fantastic "keymayo" sauce mixed in; a tangy citrus delight that isn't overpowering but definitely takes these tacos to another level. If you're one of those folks who hates mayonnaise, that's fine, but try not to dismiss everything it's ever in. It's an awesome base for creative accoutrements like Whats Cook-N Chef's keymayo, and I think you'll love it! That sauce is good for more than just tacos, it makes the perfect dip for the homemade fried plantain chips you'll want to order at this food truck. These little wafers of joy are sweet, salty, crispy, and delightfully warm. Ahhh. Dunk them in that cool keymayo and you've got an unbeatable pairing of flavors! I've had the opportunity to meet the head chef of Whats Cook-N Chef, Javier, and he's excited about his business and dedicated to serving authentic Latin cuisine that'll impress your palate. Right now, there are only two items on the menu (besides fried plantains and chips): the Churrasco Street Tacos and Churrasco Sandwiches. Whats Cook-N Chef is keeping it simple, genuine, and absolutely delicious! Keep an eye on their website to see what location they're at, and go try it out ASAP.
