Located in the former Punta Gorda rail station, this is a wonderful spot to stop for a coffee or something stronger. It was only 10am so I stuck with coffee. Nice, dark, comfortable. Lots of seating and power outlets though I found their wifi to be a bit on the slow side. Which was fine for today's use but if you're looking for an alternative office, might not work for you. The barista wasn't sure what a cortado is but after I explained, she did a pretty valiant effort. Tasty coffee that was more like a flat white. Got a simple cappuccino with oat milk and it was pretty good. I would be curious to come back and try their other drinks. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and the bathrooms are on the other side of the building because it's in a historic train station building. We sat outside and the seat cushions were very dingy. I've seen this place a thousand times. I finally came in to see what it's all about. This was an Atlantic Coast Line Depot in 1928 and shows the times by having segregated entrances for "whites and colored" people. This historic station has been preserved and turned into a coffee/tea speakeasy. It is a nice combination of the modern and the past. The guy behind the bar was very friendly, patient and informative. He helped me choose a drink that was Kava forward yet tropically delicious with coconut , pineapple and fruity with lemonade it was called Yacht Rock ,YUM! Not only did I enjoy the drink but it seemed to lift my energy level and reduce the shoulder pain I was having. Come check this place out. read more

Had a delicious Latte and the staff were very friendly. Love the coziness of the establishment. Perfect ambiance for studying, working or hanging by the bar and chatting with the baristas. Overall, I had a great time! Also seats are very comfortable and there are long tables ( with outlets that pop up) , couches or smaller tables. Bathrooms were clean as well! Staff rude, and the service is terrible. Don't go here. I thought this was a sober place, but they serve THC. I've been a long time addict and recovery and needed a sober outlet. This is not the place to be sober. They just try to get you hooked on something else. I'm going to report them to the governor.. who is my friend.. we've established a few bills together. Such a cute spot! Was visiting from Tampa and I so wish this was in Tampa! Plentyyyy of seating so this would be a great study spot, or place to just hang out with friends. I stopped by on my way back home from Naples. Delicious kratom and pastries here. I had the lavender lemon elixir and it was just delicious. Not super potent though, so if you're looking for something stronger I suggest getting extra extract in it. I also got an orange cranberry muffin which I couldn't recommend enough. The space is so cute and cozy, it's perfect for studying, doing work, or just hanging out with friends. The staff was friendly. I wish I lived a little bit closer, I would absolutely be going every single day. read more

A piece of history and a place of healing and chilling. I am from Texas but came to stay with a dear friend who is deeply grieving the loss of two immediate family members. We went to Downtown Kava in search of a happy distraction and maybe a new and beautiful experience as a break from heavy emotions. We absolutely found what we were looking for. This place is super groovy and calming in ambiance, and the herbal drinks are delicious and effective. I love the idea of a sober bar and these guys nailed it. The family members of the owners who served us were efficient, friendly and informative about their products, backstory and location. I personally observed a family friendly, pet friendly, diversity friendly environment while I was enjoying drinks with friends. I just can not say enough about the concept and execution and over all experience. Give DK a try and find a new favorite- I did! read more
