Brittany is amazing.. My little is terrified to go into strange places but knows when we pull into Downtown Doodle.. She has a gift!

My little 8 pound Chihuahua comes for a bath and haircut every 6-8 weeks. They do a nice job trimming her and listen to my wishes to trim only very specific areas and mostly leave her cute whisps and beautiful fan tail as is. I really appreciate that they quickly call me after my pup is finished so I can pick her up. They are conveniently located in downtown Eagle across from Smokey Mountain Pizza and down a side street. There is a small city parking lot across from the shop if needed but you can also park right in front on street. read more

I brought our golden doodle here Sept 2020, it had been a while since we had him groomed, I was told they would do their best. Got a call about 30 min later saying they needed to cut more off, too matted. I agreed, happy they called first. Tried a few other places since Downtown Doodle tends to book out and aren't the least expensive in the area.... glad we are back! Always do a great job, I like that they do not crate and ask that you pick up once they are finished. Our dog got sick after a stay at another local groomer, hospitalized for 2 days and on meds, Downtown Doodle accommodated us and his special (temporary) conditions. We are forever grateful and continue to use them. read more

NOT WORTH THE MONEY. DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG TO BETH AT THIS LOCATION. SHE CUT MY DOG AND ALSO GAVE HER AN EAR INFECTION. The only thing good about this place is they have a quick turn around with grooming your dog. The customer service here was very disappointing. The staff were anything but friendly. The environment was unwelcoming, the staff was short with me and rude, as if I was an inconvenience. No one even smiled! On top of that, the groomer was not receptive to style of cut I wanted for my mini poodle. The length she cut my dog was fine but the way she styled the face was all wrong. Her ears are too long, she did not round out her snout, or leave enough hair on top of her head. I tried to show a picture to the groomer (her name was Beth) prior to dropping her off so it was clear what I was looking for and she told me that a picture wasn't helpful. I am from out of town but come to Boise/Eagle often to see family. I will definitely be finding somewhere else to bring my dog when I need to get her groomed in Boise. Waste of $68. UPDATE: In addition to everything, Beth gave my dog bad razor burn in her ear which may have also caused a yeast infection from the moisture. My dog requires professional grooming since she is a poodle and not once has she gotten an ear infection or cuts like this before. Beth rushed her grooming job and my poor dog is paying the price. So now do I not only have to pay for an overpriced bad haircut but now I have to pay vet bills to fix what she has done to my dog. read more

Then there were people in the background that were talking very loud (I heard some cussing) and I could barely hear her. I will not be taking my dog here. read more

Cuts and scabs all over my dog's ears. Unfortunately our previous groomer moved out of state so we started coming here. Now my dog's ears are covered in bumps and scabs. This never used to be a problem. They also butchered my schnauzer's beard and shaved it off. Shaved down his fluffy chest fur too. Ridiculous. read more

I really cannot say enough good things about this amazing establishment and staff! Jesse and Ashley (owners) are simply the best. They take fantastic care of our Bichon Rosie and she always looks beautiful after each grooming. She comes back happy and stress-free. Ashley is so patient, gentle and kind with Rosie and Jesse is such an artist with her style. It's a joy to take our Rosie here and feel comfortable knowing they treat her so well. Ugh, what's worse than you having to find a "new" hair person???? Having to find a "new" groomer for fur babies!!! Well, we came to Downtown Doodle on a referral from a friend. We didn't know what to expect as we walked in on a Sunday afternoon. The shop is very clean, a large play gated area for dogs that flows into the grooming area. There are kennels if required. I mention all of this because, I believe the atmosphere & surroundings are just as important as the groomers! Ok, now for the grooming! It's tough the first time in, trying to explain, groomer speaking their lingo but, it all worked out. My Maltese mix had a couple of spots of whoops, a little close on the legs! Otherwise, good! Our wirey bearded dachshund, fine. The little bundles of fur & the rest of our expectations met! The dogs were happy when we picked them up & as dog owners, "you know"! I'm sorry I don't know the name of our groomer, but we were very happy with her. Reviews were mixed about Downtown Doodle, but I stand by my very positive one! Pricing for both was very fair. read more

Today was my first experience with Downtown Doodle. I brought my 5 year old cat in for a nail trim. I called ahead so we were in and out of there in 5 minutes. Nice gal, nice place and nice nail trim. I recommend them! read more

I was disappointed at the added $40 charge to keep my dog 2 hours. My appointment was at 12. They didn't tell me how long it would take. Only we will call you 15 minutes prior to finishing. I had no way of knowing the dog would be finished at 2:30 or I would have planned for a 2:30 pick up. I don't plan on returning. read more

How absolutely convenient it must be to tell customers "we told you not to bring your dog back here because of her age " They are a very manipulative business. They kind of make up the prices as they go and are completely unorganized with their scheduling. Yes my dog is older and difficult to groom that's why I bring it to professionals but they said they had told me two times not to bring her back and that is just a bold face lie. Why would I ever bring my dog back to a business that asked me not to come back because she's difficult to groom? She is a 6 pound poodle! Very typical rhetoric "it's not our fault it's yours " My little dog was handed back to my wife as nothing more than a reject and when I called the shop to complain about our half shaved dog and looking ridiculous the only focus I could detect was the frustration in her voice because these so called professionals couldn't handle her. 1st time I've ever gone to a groomers and felt this upset by their arrogance. The last time I brought my dog in to have her nails trimmed it was $10 I handed the girl a 20 and she asked me if I wanted change, she actually seemed shocked when I said yes. We're just done with this place. I have spoke to several other groomers and I'm very happy to say that they agree things were handled about as bad as it can get. They're simply looking for the easy grooming and high price. Well, this is my opinion and this is how you end up as a snooty overpriced, arrogant and rude business. read more

This was our First time Taking OUR 30 Pound Medium size Goldendoodle to this place, I KNOW she was over due for haircut, BUT I asked the girl in the salon at least 3 times to NOT SHAVE HER, I took her there at 2pm I came back at 4:30 and asked if she was ready, She looked at me with big eyes, and said NO , I said I want to see her, She said YOU WILL NOT LIKE WHAT YOU SEE, I asked what the Heck did you do to my DOG, She said well she needed to be shaved, They took her down to her skin , She is itchy, Shaking her ears all night, Very very unconfortable, I was shocked and very not happy with HOW & what they did to my Dog, When she was done, SHE SAID Do you want to make another APPT, and I said NO WE WILL NOT BE BRINGING her back, She was not happy with me, She said It will be 75.00 for today, I gave her 80 and she walked away, I said HOLD ON, I need 5.00 back, I think she thought I was giving her a TIP. Definitely would stay away from this groomer. I have going there for over 2 years, but they have no customer service anymore. Brittany usually does my dog, but came down with Covid and called me on a Monday to say she would not be available and I could come in on Wednesday at 8:00 am. I left a message with her that I would be there. I showed up for appointment and was told I was not on the schedule and please move aside because she had a customer to take of. I was told that they can't control Covid. That was not the issue, I had an appt. @ 8:00 and that has nothing to do with Covid. I called back when I got home and was told the same thing and she hung up on me. I WOULD DEFINITELY STAY AWAY FROM THEM. read more

Today was our first visit. Our two fox terrier mix rescue dogs were in desperate need of a bath, haircut, and nail trim. We were very pleased with how the dogs looked and smelled when we picked them up. Of special note, they both got a great nail trim, something that has not happened at other places. Dawnell did such a great job on our dogs! Honestly, it was the best grooming ever done on our golden-chow mix who has tons of hair and a heavy undercoat. Our bishon always looks so cute after his cut, like a fluffy marshmallow when she's done with him. Best of all, our dogs really love going there and Dawnell is so great with them. It's so good to know our dogs are in good hands and happy. I'd highly recommend The Downtown Doodle. read more
