I am beyond disappointed. I have been a loyal customer for years. I moved, and now drive from North end ( where there is another self serve dog wash) just to go to the business I liked. NO MORE. Yesterday I arrived ( walked in the store) literally at 6:23, it turned 6:24 as I was told to leave because 6:20 is the cut off. It takes me roughly 25 minutes to wash me dog. I know they close at 7. IO was 3 minutes past the apparent non advertised 'cut off'. The whole place was empty, and yet the person working said no, I had to leave. I am never going back here. This is so rude no to advertise this and have such rigid rules. You lost my business. read more

On March 30, 2023, my dog, Harley Quinn, a 2 1/2 year old Fluffy Corgi, was dropped off at Petco for grooming. I have had Harley Quinn groomed many times over the past 2 years at Dirty Paws, in Boise, however her groomer moved away suddenly and I was left with no other recourse other than to go to Petco, where they had an opening in several weeks. I was assured, before making the appointment, that Petco groomers had experience grooming a Fluffy Corgi. After a 3-hour session with the groomer, I picked up Harley Quinn and was told to pay for her grooming before I even had an opportunity to see her. After doing so, Harley Quinn was shown to me and I was so shocked by her appearance that I could not even say anything to the groomer. I realized, right away, that she was totally unqualified to groom a Fluffy Corgi and so I thought that she would not even understand why I was dissatisfied. I did not even drive her home, because I was so horrified with her appearance, so I realized that maybe I had time to go back to Dirty Paws to show them to her and see if there was anything that could be done for her. Also, Harley did not look happy as I am used to seeing her after being at the groomer. Jean Clock, a groomer for over 7 years at Dirty Paws, was familiar with Harley because she saw her come in many times for grooming. Jean Clock was startled at her appearance also, and remarked that she still had matting behind her ears and that she was still wet. Jean told me that it is not possible to finish the trimming and grooming until the dog was completely dry. She promised that she would take care of Harley the next day and give her a proper grooming. After she spent 2 hours at Dirty Paws, Jean Clock gave me the rundown of what Harley needed to finish her grooming. She said that Harley still had burrs in her fur near the skin and that her undercoat had not been removed, so the first thing she did was use a furminator on her. Then she gave her a good bath with conditioner and dried her fully before removing the matting behind her ears and her hind feet. She also said that Harley still had dirt between her toes and that her toenails were not trimmed. Finally, she trimmed Harley to make her beautiful, as I was so used to seeing her after a grooming session at Dirty Paws. When I picked up Harley after the rescue grooming, I had never seen her so happy. It was so obvious that she loved her experience at Dirty Paws as compared to her experience at Petco. Harley Quinn and Jean Clock are now best friends. read more

Don't do it! After a first grooming where my dog was cut. I chalked it up to an accident. Then I made appointments weeks in advance which were cancelled on the day of. Even after I was called the day before to be sure I was coming. This happened 3 times. Shame on me for not learning. The owner said. "Sorry but I can't be responsible for what my employees do". Did she offer to step in? No. Did she offer to get someone to come in within a day or so? No? She said "The best I can do is put you on a wait list. She cared not a bit and was not interested in resolving the issue. Mostly I feel bad for my dog. read more

Super disappointed. Took my Cobberdog in for a grooming and trim. The groomer shaved our dog without any warning, or communication. Furthermore, the groomer (Monica) nicked him in multiple places and then tried to say that was a normal occurrence. This happened after they canceled our reservation twice, delaying his grooming two months. Groomer said he was too mated, so had to shave him. He had a few mats on chest only and no mats during the time of our original appointments. They were not able to even give him a brush out two months ago to get him by. Our long haired cobberdog now looks like a whippet! Asked to speak to the owner, was not able to. This Boise native will not be using this groomer again. Super disappointed!! read more

First place I went when I got my rescue. :) he is a poodle mix and was quite the process to groom because of his curly thick hair. I was able to do it myself and the friendly staff gave me some advice as his hair type. Had everything I needed and more. Such a nice option for those of us who prefer to groom our own pets to allow for bonding and mitigate pet's anxiety. Great place- I'm going back this week. read more

With all the excitement of a brand new mommy, I proudly brought my baby Yorkie in for a bath and brush, asking for her bangs to be trimmed out of her eyes. The groomer called not long after drop off, stating that there was some matted fur in her little arm pits and asked if she could shave them out. I agreed, happy for the communication. However, I returned to find my baby had been completely shaved, though totally unevenly, from the neck down. She just basically looked like she'd gotten in a brawl with the clippers and lost. Badly. Despite my obvious concern and dismay, the cashier did not offer any apologies or concessions, and rather than unleash momma bear an innocent hourly employee, I just quickly paid and left. read more

Absolutely horrible. I took my curly coat cavapoo in for a small trim. I showed them a picture of how I wanted his face to look, and then showed how much hair I wanted trimmed off. When I came to pick him up he was butchered. His hair was shaved to a buzz cut and his legs were almost bald. He had 3 cuts and his eye was red and looked like a blood vessel popped. They most likely poked him in the eye. When I confronted the groomer all she did was make excuses and did not take responsibility for her actions. My dog was traumatized. He was trembling and didn't even look like my dog after what they did to him. Do not make the same mistake as me, take your pet somewhere else. (I would have given zero stars but the app wouldn't let me.) Edit: I talked to the owner after waiting 2 days for here to reply to my email and she was extremely rude and unprofessional. She told me it was my fault my dogs eye had been punctured. His whiskers were buzzed down completely and she said that they were supposed to be shaved which any research disproves that. He has not been able to ring his bell to go to the bathroom since they've been shaved. So disappointed in this store. Never ever going back. read more

I have been a loyal customer at Dirty Paws since 2009, it's the only groomer that I have taken my dog Dixie and my new dog Lotty. I have always been please with Hailey. In fact, I love Hailey. However, I will not take my dog there any longer. Hailey broke her leg and a new groomer had to fill in for her. Then, Monica, the new groomer had a new price point and I was never notified of that until I picked up Lotty. The cut was completely wrong. Also, Monica got too close on Lotty's back end, so she was licking it and scooting around all night. When I talked to the owner, Holly, she said that she would TRY to make things right. The best she would do is have Monica trim the ears, but fixing the cut would require a whole new cut. So essentially Dirty Paws and Monica the new groomer don't stand by the work that they do, nor do they communicate out the price increases (a $15 jump is a lot) to their loyal customers. I have referred my parents, a cousin, and several friends to take their dogs to Dirty Paws. Now I urge you to take your dog anywhere else. After 13 years I am taking my dog somewhere else. I will miss Hailey, I do love her, but I refuse to give one more penny to a company that only tries to do the right thing. read more

Just moved from the Bay Area where we were paying $60-$70 for our dog(golden doodle) to get groomed, and groomed very well. Dirty paws wouldn't tell me a price up front, so i was shocked when they charged me $65! Extremely over priced. They said there were a couple mats... yes, they we tiny, and if i would have known that you were to rip me off, i would have cut them off myself. Also the cut was not great. Our dog is now sporting lines all the way down her back. I asked that the hair be removed from her ears... It was not. I asked that her face be cut very short, it was not... And there were patches cut out all over. Such a poor cut. I had to trim her up after her overpriced cut. (She is a very mellow dog, so I know this is not due to her behavior or unwillingness to be cut.) On top of all that, when I picked her up, she hadn't been let out to go to pee or given water. She raced outside to pee, and then in the house when we got home and drank the entire bowl. What kind of place are you running? read more

Until now I've been very satisfied, but they are unwilling to comply with the covid mask order, so I will no longer be patronizing them. Not requiring masks is highly disrespectful to both staff and clients, and disregards the law. read more

I recently took my Rhodesian Ridgeback in for a grooming. While I was satisfied with the grooming I was NOT happy with the front desk customer service. We asked to be called as soon as our dog was done, after 3.5 hours of no cal we finally went in. The front desk girl said she "lost" the phone number (it should be in the system, right?) She said that Leo had been done for over an hour and half. We expressed that we were disappointed that she didn't make more of an effort to get a hold of us, she offered NO apology. I'm mostly upset because Leo was uncomfortable. When we took him outside he urinated for an extremely long time. I think we will try someone else. read more

I have a 85+ pound Anatolian Shepherd/Great Pyrenees that desperately needed a bath. This place was perfect! Super friendly front desk lady and the tub was easy to get my huge dog in all by myself. I came in on a Tuesday - no wait at all - practically had the whole place to myself aside from some people getting their dog groomed. Only paid $11 (plus I tipped $2 because my dog got fur and water everywhere.) highly recommend! read more

This is a great place to get the pups clean. Easy pre-checkout so you can head right out when done. Small enough to be more quiet than larger places, good for keeping things low-stress. Strong sprayers with warm water, rubber scrubbers, chamois cloths, safety tethers, warm force dryers. I spend about $50 for 3 pups each time I go. read more

I usually go to "Do it yourself doggie wash" in Meridian but decided to try a place closer to my house. After walking in and not being greeted I ask the lady for help. She acted as if I interuppted her precious Facebook time. My dog was put into a dirty tub. I was given shampoo, a brush and a towel. After I was done once again the lady rolled her eyes when I came up to pay. I will never return to this unfriendly place after being overcharged as well. I will take the time to go to Meridian every time my dog needs a bath. read more

VERY DISRESPECTFUL, RUDE and.....BIZARRE. Tried to schedule a grooming for my Labradoodle and was told that they, "weren't taking any new doodle mixes" because "those people (the owners) never show up or bother to call so we end up losing out on the sale for the day". I was obviously mystified by the response and am just left with the impression that perhaps they have something against doodle mixes. I've been to a lot of dog washes, and I even designed and ran one myself for a few years. Dirty Paws is up there with some of the better ones I've been to. It was clean, spacious, and everything was in easy reach when you needed it. The girl working there was friendly and helpful. I did wish the tub was just a few inches higher, but that's just a personal preference. I will be a regular there. read more

First of all, whoever thought of a self serve dog wash was a genius! This place is awesome, I really hate bathing my dogs at home because they have so much fur and takes forever to dry them with my hair blow dryer. This place takes the stress out of cleaning up after and being able to wash and dry them in a timely manner, without all the mess. They provide everything you need. Professional wash tubs, shampoo, towels, brushed and blow dryers that dry QUICK. The only reason why i knocked off a star is because I took both of my dogs there. My first one was bathed, I just recently got her from a bad situation, she is very unsure about people and I am just a bit unsure about her because when she is a afraid, she tends to get a little mouthy. Well I was bathing my second dog.. the girl at the front desk UNTIED my dog without my permission because according to her she was "freaking out," was trying to put a dirty collar on her (she had really bad accident earlier that morning in her kennel.. hence, the bath) and then my dog got away from her and wouldn't come to her. There were other dogs there and she was telling me that my dog needed to be tied up because she had an appointment coming! Well so I then left the dog I was bathing, and tied her back up no problem. I told her next time there was an issue.. please tell me and not take it open yourself to untie my dog then get after me when she won't come to you. What if she didnt like strangers? What if she bit You? What if she got into a fight with another dog? Not saying she would but I did tell the girl in the beginning I just rescued her! Point blank.. please don't mess with other people's animals without their permission. This is not a saying that I don't come back.. I just didn't care for that. read more

Dirty Paws is the best dog grooming salon in Boise. I have lived all over Boise and Meridian and have tried multiple dog groomers. Haley is just the best groomer I have ever had. She never keeps my doggies for very long and they always seem happy after they leave. I won't take my dogs anywhere else. The Self Serve Wash part of Dirty Paws is so convienent!! I take my doggies for baths in between groomings. They have all of the materials I need and are always willing to help me out if I need any assistance.
