My small Yorkie had been going to this grooming salon since she was a puppy, and we were loyal customers for over five years. Unfortunately, after the change in ownership, the atmosphere shifted from a family-friendly environment to one that feels primarily money-focused. When you're leaving a pet who is truly a family member in someone's care, that difference matters. When I first began bringing my dog in, a full groom was $45, which later increased to $60. After the new owners took over, I made sure to request everything listed as included in the grooming package. The total then came to $105 for my Yorkie. I was surprised that services listed on the wall required specific requests, rather than simply being included. During my last visit, pricing displayed on the wall did not match what I was verbally quoted. I was told the prices were outdated and should have been removed. However, when I returned to pick up my dog, the incorrect prices were still posted. As a customer, transparency and consistency in pricing are important. Additionally, there seems to be an added charge for nearly everything. For example, when I asked if a small amount of balm could be applied to my dog's nose, I was told it would be an additional $5. There is also a late pickup fee of $20-$30 per hour. While I understand policies are necessary, pickup times have been inconsistent on their end as well. On one occasion, I was charged for being late when family was visiting. On another visit, I waited four hours for my dog's grooming to be completed and did not feel comfortable leaving, fearing additional charges. One of my biggest concerns was regarding my dog's severe eczema. They advised me to bring my own if I wanted something different. At the price point being charged, I expected options for sensitive skin without having to supply my own products. Since then, I found a mobile groomer who comes to my home, charges the same price, includes all services without additional fees, offers sensitive-skin shampoo options at no extra charge, and even adds small touches complimentary. Most importantly, my dog's eczema has completely cleared up. I do not typically switch groomers and was a loyal client for years. However, I no longer feel comfortable recommending this salon. It simply does not have the same feel or customer care that it once did. I would like to end on a positive note as the Groomer that did cut my dog's hair. Did do a good job with the trim, but that's not enough to keep me at the same salon as a customer. I am much happier now with my Mobile Groomer. read more

We've used Royal Spa for years. I'm not sure what happened but yesterday we had a haircut for our little Morkie Willa. We picked up our dog within the 15 minutes that we were texted when she would be ready. When we picked her up, she was panting furiously. I felt her fur and she was very hot. Its impossible to say what they did, but all I know is that Willa was overheated. I contacted them by email. I didnt recognize the name of the person that responded and they didnt identify themselves. They said that Willa was very agitated and they didnt do anything wrong. No apology, nothing. just blamed it on our dog. I am told that some groomers use Box heaters that they put in the kennels with the dogs to get them dry. The door to their back room was open so I did notices our dog was in a kennel. If they did use a heater, maybe they left it on too long and forgot to monitor Willa. Impossible to say for sure what they did wrong, but I really dont want to take the risk again with our precious little dog, so I wont be using them again read more

I took my German shepherd Sadie here and she was a big floof afterwards and smelled sooo good! She can be loud and obnoxious and they were so patient with her. I am definitely coming back! read more

I have been taking my 1.5 year old 100+ lb wooly Malamute to Rachel for about 6 months. She is so patient and thorough brushing out his mats (he's a swimmer), trimming him up (she always calls if something needs to be addresses before cutting hair) and is extremely breed knowledgable. He loves going to see her and having his S'Paw day. He gets sooo excited when we pull up. We have a reoccurring appointment every 4 weeks. She is one of the best in the valley. I was very disappointed about this place. My teacup poodle needed a hair cut and bath and they called to tell me that they couldn't finish him because he was not cooperating. Not only did they shave him to the skin but also couldn't finish the service. This is weird because he always went to the salon in California and they never filed a complaint before. read more

The first visit was amazing! I thought I found the place for my Charlie to be groomed. The owners were there and the only ones working that day. When I picked up Charlie he looked awesome, just as I had asked and he was his happy self. Unfortunately that has changed. The next time I took him there were several ladies working that day and none were the owners. I thought nothing of it at the time but it has been that way every time I have dropped him off since and the last couple of times Charlie would shake in my arms when I walked in with him to drop him off and his tail was hanging down when I would pick him up. Then they said he was urinating several times and messing up his groom so I was required to bring doggie diapers! And she was very rude about it! As if it was Charlie's problem. Charlie only does that if he is scared and very nervous which is VERY rare. This is not a Charlie problem! This is a Royal Spa problem! I wish the owners would come back and run their store. They were great! But they seem to be out of the picture now so I have to recommend that you RUN to another groomer! read more

My dog received an amazing haircut here! They cut her hair exactly the way I wanted to and she wasn't in long. Since my dog is a Goldendoodle, her hair gets matted easily and on top of that she's super curly. They were able to comb it out without cutting her hair short which many past groomers have done. She indicated the services would take two hours to complete, and right at two hours I got a message saying Lika was ready to be picked up. I took my 8 month havanese/ shihtzu in for cut i gave them picture what i wanted i did not want him short and when i picked him up they cut him horribly he looks like a poodle and butchered. my dog is not meant to have short hair and they did this in the winter seriously . Riley was very nice but it literally looks like they just to the clippers to my baby which anyone could do at home if they own clippers . I cant even look at his face without bein upset . I was in desperate need for my 2 Shih Tzus to get groomed, as their regular groomer was sick. I called and was lucky enough to get right in. They called me 2 hours later, which seemed really fast. Rachael and David at The Royal S'paw is AMAZING! I came in with my very scared doodle dog (she's always been uncomfortable with grooming) who was immidiateley shaking upon entering. David got down on the floor and just started petting and talking to her. After seeing that it had only been 3 weeks since her spay, Rachael requested that I reschedule to allow her to heal up a bit more before grooming. Now that may have rubbed someone else the wrong way but I was so appreciative that she was willing to push me out further for the good of my dog instead of her bottom dollar. When we did come back for grooming, she groomed my pup exactly as requested. They seem to be loving and gentle with each dog and I know my high anxiety dog and I are much appreciative!
