My groomer Roxanne- completely didn't show the second time my dog was scheduled with her. She didn't answer her phone or text me back at 7 am, when my appointment had been planned for weeks. She had moved and she had a story about her alarm not going off. I never got the grooming that day. I gave her another chance. Today I arrived at 7:07, due to getting stuck waiting to get out of my driveway by the garbage truck. Another groomer told me, as I entered that Roxanne had already left and said she was not waiting for me, since I was late. The good news is another amazing business All About Paws got us right in and gave our schnauzer the best cut she has ever had!! Sometimes things work out! I am just disappointed Roxanne couldn't call me herself and be professional! I don't think it was fair to the other groomer, who is an independent contractor, to have to tell me my groomer I waited 2 weeks to see was unable to be an adult and talk to me herself. Kind of like when I called and called her in the parking lot, while she slept. Lucky for me I have a better, more professional groomer that knows how to cut a schnauzer and communicate. They have already said- they can get me in 2-3 days from requesting an appointment. This is the difference from a true business and a group of independent contractors that want no responsibility to their actions. BEWARE!!!!! read more

We've gone regularly to this business for over 5 years. We've had 2 of the groomers assigned to us leave the business so they assigned us to another groomer. However, when I text her (twice) I don't get a response. I called and she is too busy to get us in. Im not sure why they assigned us to a groomer with such limited availability. We had been long time customers and then our groomer was changing locations. Since it was so close and our groomer hadn't landed in a new location we made an appointment with another groomer. We went in the day of our appointment and the groomer gave me a funny look. When I told her my pups name she said she said oh I thought you were someone else I don't have time for you. I was like we made an appointment and she restated that when we made the appointment she thought we were someone else. Okay well I'm not leaving my pup there, but honestly how do you make an appointment and then not have the time. So glad my groomer is established in her new location. Would never go back! read more

There's a 1 star because of the safety of my pet is not what it should be here. It's unfortunate it had to end this way after getting my pet groomed here for the past 3 or so years. It's also really weird that we had the EXACT same situation as another reviewer. Yesterday we picked up our toy schnauzer and paid. After paying our groomer Samantha, asked us if anything was going on at home? My husband said no (unsure what she meant by that) and when he saw our dog he was blown away by what he saw. Our dog had full blown hemorrhaging in both of his eyes. Blood shot and one was worse than the other. How can that possibly happen? And honestly how can she even ask us if anything is going on at home? That sounded like she insinuated we had done this at home prior to bringing him into the salon. She then said it must have happened during the wash then. Our little guy is seriously a sweetheart and VERY well mannered so it was a shock that this had happened after the 3 or so years he'd been here. Since we have texted she said she's had the same assistant for the past 5 years and that she said ace did good, obviously her assistant or someone doesn't need to be working with dogs if this is how we get our dogs back. We have texted back and forth and she was kind enough to pay for our vet visit and get it taken care of. I'm hoping it starts to go away with the ointment provided by the vet. I just hope others are aware of what could happen at this grooming salon. First time he got kennel cough at the salon and we let her know and we had got the treated. Second instance she said he moved while grooming and she cut his ear to the point where she had to put blood clotting stuff to make it stop bleeding. I should've known then to stop taking him there but I didn't realize it could be this bad especially for how long he's been going with her. She did a great job at grooming no doubt, but all this to say, at what cost? read more

Our groomer that we have used for many years retired, my wife searched for quite some time to find someone who would do a quality job for a decent price. This was our place- they were very friendly, helpful, and the facility was very clean. They were able to get us in the next day after we called for an appointment. I took my two shih tzus here . They came back all neat and beautiful. I sure can say that Simba had his best hair cut here. The lady was a very good listener and she gave the exact kind of hair cut I asked for. She even sprayed funky dog colognes on each of my puppies. My boy had a very musky smelling cologne on him. I can't remember the name of it. My girl was sprayed with what was called 'Butterfly Kisses'. Oh how pampered they smelled . We moved from Meridian some time back and I m sad I found this little gem of a place just before we moved. I would definitely recommend this place to all the doggy parents. I recently moved from San Diego with my Australian Shepherd and had no clue where to start looking for a new groomer. We had some bad experiences in the past before we found a place we loved back home. We were not looking forward to a trial and error process once again. However, I happened to be browsing Facebook and saw that a new coworker used and loved Wags to Riches in Meridian. And their Facebook page had some really great pictures and glowing reviews. I immediately pulled it up on Yelp, but there weren't any yelp reviews yet! I utilize Yelp for everything so I was a little nervous setting up the appointment. But I went ahead and scheduled with Lauren. On appointment day we walked in and was immediately pleasantly surprised. The building was very nice and the inside was super clean and welcoming. The best part for us was seeing how comfortable the dogs getting groomed were and the one dog waiting for pickup hanging out with everyone (not in a metal cage in a back room somewhere!) Lauren was expecting us and called my dog by name. She also had his new customer paperwork already ready for us. We then showed her a quick picture of how we wanted our pup to look from a past groom and she took one glance, gave a nod and said "Got it." We were skeptical but hoped for the best. About 2 hours later I got the call that he was ready to be picked up. I asked how he did, seeing as this was a new place with new people for him. Lauren responded "You're lucky you are getting him back. He was great!" Upon pick up, we couldn't have asked for a better haircut. Dare I say, he looks even better than the picture we showed her. The attention to detail on his feet and ears, and keeping his classic Aussie chest hair shape is impeccable. Lauren was right, she knew what she was doing! We will definitely be back soon! read more

I pulled up the website and was a little skeptical since the website didn't offer much info- but decided to call based on yelp reviews- so glad I did! They were able to fit my dog in the same day! Started taking our Yorkie to Wags to Riches about a year or so ago; Brianna does a fantastic job. We adopted a Yorkie/Cairn Terrier mix a month ago from a local shelter...she was a mess. Wags to Riches made time to groom her last minute, which I was extremely grateful for. Brianna wasn't available, but Andrew was and he did a great job, too. Beware of the safety of your pet here. I had been taking my miniature schnauzer to Wags to Riches for a year and half and was happy. This past Monday after I brought her home one of her eyes was bright red in the white of her eye. Took her to the vet hospital and the vet said she had trauma to her eye. Something happened to her at the groomers. When I called the groomer to try and find out if she jerked her head and hit something or squirmed and fell and all she did was get upset with me that I was accusing her of doing something to my dog and I didn't accuse her of anything. Her very defensive actions and getting upset with me tells me something happened that wasn't an accident nor my dogs actions that caused the injury. I wanted to share my experience because my little schnauzer is so sweet, I can't imagine someone hurting her the way someone did at Wags to Riches. Update, after I posted this Yelp, the owner didn't call me, but instead went to my vet for my dogs records. When I called her to ask why, she told me because of the yelp and denied anything happened at her business. The vet wrote suspect blunt force trauma. Owner noticed yesterday evening and was groomed yesterday. Sclera hemorrhage. The owner refused to pay the vet bill and said she had the 7 people working there witness nothing happened. Again, no concern for my dog, just being defensive. I will take her to small claims court once my dog is done having to go the vet, so the judge can decide if Wags to Riches should pay my vet bills. If this was a reputable business, they would have insurance and pay the vet bill. read more

We have had the WORST luck with this grooming Salon. We have a miniature schnauzer and her hair cuts have been ok at best each time we have had her groomed here. The salon seems nice enough and clean enough but the staff is not very friendly and they are very difficult (and often snooty) when trying to make an appointment. we have had our girl groomed here 4 or 5 times and this last time we have finally had it with trying to deal with the staff for even making a grooming appointment. if you are willing to pay for a so so hair cut and be treated poorly then I guess this place would do... I however would recommend taking your business elsewhere! read more

I've taken my mini dachshund in twice for (the dreaded) nail trims. She's had spine problems, and when I mentioned that, everyone was very careful with her. It actually takes two people to do her nails, and they've been wonderful -- I get to watch the entire process. Both times, I called ahead to see if they had time for her, and both times they were able to take her within an hour or two. Not saying that happens all the time but they've been very accommodating! I also noticed that all the dogs in there, both times we've been in, look very calm, happy, and comfortable in a "I'm getting groomed -- no big deal" way. Good sign. read more

I love these girls! I have three dogs who are all a bit crazy. Two are rescues and one of them is an extremely worried 7 pound chihuahua. Kelly and Brianna take great care of them and are really patient. Their prices are reasonable (which is important when you literally have a pack of dogs), they are quick, and easy to schedule with. Wags to riches does a great job with our Maltipoo. He can get irritable and they have the patience to deal with him. The shop is clean. I also love how the dogs are allowed to mingle with each other and not locked up in a kennel. I'm always happy to see how my dog looks when I pick him up. I just called this groomer and was excited to establish a new relationship since our groomer of 8 years retired. After asking some questions and giving our specific information about payment, I was given to someone else on the line. This person was so rude and basically called me a liar, stating that the government never paid for a service dogs grooming. She went on and on. I was shocked at how crazy she sounded. I would never entrust my dog to someone who can not act in a professional and 'normal' manner. My son has Autism and part of his yearly budget goes towards grooming and vet care. We get a yearly check cut and given to the groomer. This check is cut by Consumer Direct. However, this lady on the phone told me I was a liar, was very aggressive on the phone, and I ended the conversation calling her an expletive. They will never get my business and I will NEVER recommend this person. They have refused service to us and my disabled child. I am disgusted at the ignorance and hatred that I encountered. read more

I've witnessed dogs unattended on tables with the leash around their necks more than once. This is concerning for the dogs safety. I've also heard the dogs crying, which is understandable, but hoping their fears were eased rather than dealt with impatience. I'm sure dog grooming is no easy task, but a gentle calming approach would be appreciated. A trip to the groomers for a dog is stressful and in some cases terrifying. read more
