So When I called I was looking for a last minute grooming for my golden doodle Because everywhere was sooo booked out. The man I spoke to was very nice about fitting her in but I have to review the quality of the job done. She looks HORRIBLE. Doesn't even resemble a golden doodle. They basically just shaved her...and not even well. She is completely uneven. Chunks of areas longer than others...her tail wasn't touched...still Has long chunks of hair on her ears that weren't done and her face was shaved down so much so really resembles a butchered greyhound :( I know now I need to wait it out and not look for a last minute fix but I am SO Disappointed that we paid $65 for this... golden doodles are a very common breed and she looks so bad...it'll take weeks for it to grow out enough to look descent. This place is great if you absolutely can't wash your pet at home or need a wash on the go, but as a regular place to go I would definitely have to pass. The employee was nice. I did not like that the chain that used, I felt it was too short and needed to put in the middle of the tub. It would be better to have to posted on either side and in the middle. This place is amazing. I walked in and the owner immediately jumped up and knew I had come in for my dog to get washed. He pointed to the aprons and said grab one and bring my pup to the wash tub. He showed me the ins and outs of washing my dog and made sure I knew how to do everything. My dog was super nervous when we walked in and by the time I was in the middle of washing him, he was relaxed. The conditioner I put on my dog really did make his coat super soft! I was worried because when his coat was wet, it felt like I had stripped all the natural oils off it. When it came time to blow dry, the owner showed me out to do it and explained everything in detail. He really bent over backwards to make sure I had a great time with my dog. I have a six month puppy who likes to cry at the top of his lungs the entire wash-he acts like he's in a torture chamber. The staff is always patient with us and they walk me through techniques and offer suggestions on how to help me and him get through it. They always do a good and quick job with his nails. Responsible Teenager/ Irresponsible Owner/Manager... Signage says opens at 11:00am Sunday. We got there 15 minutes early. A teenaged employee showed up at the same time. Many potential customers began showing up. The teenaged employee called the owner/manager (who didn't show up) to troubleshoot the situation at 11:04am. The teenager walked across the street and seemed to have returned with keys. She was unable to unlock the front door, nor back door. We finally left at 11:15am. I give the teenaged employee 5 Stars for early arrival to work and trying to troubleshoot opening the store. But what kind of business manager can't maintain professional hours of operation?... I was house sitting a temperamental older Pug, who was shedding badly, and well, was kinda stinky. I decided to take her over to Doggie Detailing. I went in with the squirming dog under my arm, and the staff immediately helped me to a station. They helped me get started, and I put on an apron and put shampoo in my bottle. I wasn't sure if they charged you by the bottle or what. They don't. The owner, she kept telling me to get more shampoo. I thought the Pug was going to have a heart attack but after a while she calmed down, until it came time for the blow dry. All in all, it was quick and painless. Brushes clippers etc. Also they will clip your dogs nails too. Be prepared to hold the dog tight though they don't like this part. The only reason we don't give 5 stars is because the 3 times we've been there, we have never been helped by the same person. Which means we have paid a different price occasionally. So the price list is by the judgement of the employee. We paid for a "mini pet" twice and a "small pet" today. Pretty good deal either way with unlimited shampoo and conditioner, two towels to dry off what the blow dryer might not get (or in our case, what our pup won't wait for us to get), and a wide variety of grooming equipment. We have only used the nail clipping option once and our little guy was pretty timid about it. Overall, we enjoy the convenience of the location and prices and the staff has been friendly. read more

From the moment I walked in Lori helped me find a tub to wash them at the same time and get them secured in. They offer the grinding which is nice for my dog, gets her nails short and dulls them out. She always has been great getting her nails trimmed, I have never ever seen her so uncooperative. The girl really didn't know what she was doing... Kept pulling her foot straight back which dogs do not like and will yank their leg away. She kept jumping away from this girl. I think it was too loud and the girl who was helping was too inexperienced. Not great for skiddish dogs. Will be looking somewhere else next time. read more

This last weekend my husband took two separate trips to wash our Labs. All was fine until the next morning when both of them woke up sick with the same symptoms-not hungry and lethargic to practically comatose. By the evening our female could hardly walk. Next was a very expensive trip to West Vet to find out she had a 105 degree temp, and had to have IV fluids and labs drawn. The following day our vet concluded that their skin was flaming red under her fur and that a bacteria in the soap must have gotten into their blood stream and gave her an infection. The type of soap he used is called Filthy Animal so be forewarned. We have not had problems in the past but we will never go back again. read more

Dropped my 15yo Border Collie off for a grooming appt. Went in to pick him up an hour after his appt. and the groomer was just starting. I left asking them to call when they were done, said they would but never did. I finally just went back right before they closed to get him whether they were done or not. When they gave him to me he could barely stand after being cramped in their kennel for so long. They even tried to switch leashes on me with some cheap twine slip leash. I tried to get the owners contact info to complain but they wouldn't give it to me. Sent an email to the stores email address but never got an answer. Their service was terrible. I brought my lab mix here to get a much needed bath. Unfortunately I also had to bring my very energetic 3 year old with me too. The staff was very polite they even helped me lift my not so light pup into the tub. They gave my son a stool to stand on and a child sized apron so he could help. My son was more interested in helping the staff with their chores than washing the dog. They were great showing my son around and answering his never ending stream of questions. This was all very helpful while I was tied up washing my dog. They have a great selection of shampoo and conditioners. I was asked more then once if I needed help or if I had any questions. I looked and reviewed multiple places to take my very, very hairy newfie who was in desperate need of a wash and trim. I called in before and asked if there would be anyone who could help me trim my pup, since I never have before, and they informed me they were more than willing to help me. I ended up here and was immediately greeted by a very helpful gentleman who was nothing but friendly. He showed me how to use everything and gave me recommendations. I gave my pup a good scrub and used their "blow dry" system that really helped get rid of her loose fur. Then, the gentleman dedicated at least an hour to helping me trim all of her hair and helping her look like a normal dog again. I have taken my dogs here for a few years. And for the Do It Yourself option, it is great. But I have a 3 dogs, and 1 of them needs to be groomed, and one needs to be de-shedded. It seems that recently (2 years or so), Do It Yourself has gone through a few groomers. Always someone new when I go in lately. But I am not going to go back for grooming or de-shedding. The last time I took in my Yorkie for a grooming (once again, new groomer), when I picked her up, she just didn't seem right. After her grooming, she was very depressed and just laid around for 2 days. I am not sure if they were mean to her or what. But that is the last time she will see Do It Yourself. And just the fact that they have a very high turn over rate recently indicates to me that there are problems. read more
