We got the Gumbo, Mac and cheese, swamp grits, side salad, the palmetto, CAJJUN BOUDAIN EGG ROLLS as appetizers, and two mocktails- the NOLA NOJITO and the HURRICANE WARNING. The portion sizes were really big, the server that we had was so nice and gave us the suggestions about the egg rolls- which I appreciated, those were great. From the moment we walked in until the moment we left, her customer service was impeccable. She was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel right at home. As if the food and service weren't enough, we also had the pleasure of meeting the owners and their mom. They were warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about their food. We went to try this new restaurant while in Austin. We made a reservation in advance. It's in a strip mall with some parking but there's also parking behind the restaurant and on the street. Very hard to find unless you know where it is. There's no visible outside signage. It's in the very corner of the right side of the strip mall where the fencing is. They finally seated us in an area away from all the other seated guests and then they came and moved us to the other side of the restaurant where everyone else was. It took us 18 minutes to get there but it was so hard to find. There's no sign out front so we circled the plaza 4x till we asked someone and they pointed it out to us. We didn't have reservations but when we walked in, there were available tables but we chose to sit at the bar. It was pretty packed and there was live music so the energy in there was buzzing!! It was reverse happy hour so I got the fried salmon bites ($8 versus $16) and sweet potatoes fries. My friend got the lamb chops ($20) and a sidecar. Food didnt take long to come out. The salmon bites came plated with mixed greens but it wasn't great. I didn't touch the fries because they were soggy.
