Before the installers came, I was worried about my subfloors - the previous homeowners had let their pets leak everywhere, and they SMELLED! We worked with Big Bob's for our flooring which is a sister company to this. Since we had such a great experience with Tom at Big Bob's we decided to try out Douglas Carpet one. After just a few minutes of my husband and I looking around we were graciously greeted by the gentleman working. He asked us a few questions, and guided us through the options that fit our taste, needs and budget. Although Douglas Carpet one is not close to our home we have decided to work with them based on their customer service and selection.

The quality of the work has warranted the low rating. They did not order the correct quantity of carpet to begin with, which meant two occasions for installation. But I do understand mistakes can happen. However, I now see that should have been a flag. After less than 6 months, there are multiple very visible seams in several locations. The worst being in the middle of a hallway - a major area of the house. I had never ever seen a seam in any carpet ever before, any where, so it was strange and somewhat shocking. They did respond and schedule to fix it in a timely manner. However, after spending 3 hours to supposedly fix the issues, a week later, the seams are just as bad. This has colored the whole experience to be extremely disappointing and I would not recommend them. At least not for carpeting.

The wood I chose was "select grade" 3 1/4" Solid Red Oak manufactured by a local company called L.W. Mountain. I worked with Ron Barbel in sales and the work was done by Todd and Jon. Job was done in a timely manner and all the promise dates were met. The installation was done correctly and it turned out great looking. The two man team also cleaned up and kept the dust and debris to a minimum during the installation. I give Big Bob's Flooring Outlet of Aurora a 5 star rating and would highly recommend them for any flooring needs.
