YUM!!! A friend of mine told me that Kim K had Doughnuttery after the Met Gala so of course I had to give it a try! I went to the location in Chelsea Market. If you've never been, I would highly recommend it. Chelsea Market is a closed space with tons of little shops and restaurants in it. It's decorated adorably and is rather fun! Doughnuttery was a bit hard to find within the market, because it's way in the back of a small area with multiple little restaurants. There was a 10 minute wait when I got to Doughnuttery but it felt like the wait went by quick. The staff was speedy, but not super friendly (but honestly, I probably wouldn't be too friendly either if I worked in such a busy place). For 6 mini donuts, the price was reasonable. You can also get donuts in groups of 9 or 12. The donuts were served hot and the options of toppings and dipping sauces were vast. Having heard great things about Doughnuttery (obviously not from Yelp considering the shockingly low 3.5 star rating), I was super excited to try it out. This excitement was quickly subdued though upon finding it in Chelsea Market because I was expecting a classic doughnut. Although I didn't get the classic doughnut I was looking forward to, I did get just as tasty of a doughnut as anticipated. Doughnut style: --These are no classic doughnuts. They are bite sized, sugared, and have an outer crunch while maintaining an inner fluffiness. The stand out twist is definitely the doughnut's consistency. I still dream about that slight crunch followed by an immediate wave of airy dough. While I don't know if I prefer these to a typical doughnut, there is no doubt that they are phenomenal. Price vs. quality: --Six dollars for six mini doughnuts is definitely in the relatively high price range considering you can usually get a normal sized doughnut for that price, but I ended up coming back for a second set of six doughnuts so for me the price was well worth the quality. Flavors: --They have an array of unique flavors so be sure to bring some friends when you come so you can try as many as possible. You're allowed two flavors in an order of six doughnuts. In order from best to worst, I tried the cacaoboy, flower power, pumpkin pie brulee, and paris time. The only flavor that wasn't outstanding was the paris time, but I think that's because I'm not the biggest fan of lavender. Love the original really small and cute. Got the 12 for 11-10 smells really good irresistible!!! It's mini so easy to eat and share.you can choose 4 flavors, so it's easy to split because you get 3 each. The setting is next to the crepe place so it's great if you're a sweet tooth. read more

I loved these little circles of heaven!! Moist, warm, fresh little tidbits of joy...try them you will love them :) We got the glazed just to start with basics and they were delicious. I suggest starting with those first. The specialty sugars seem strange to me. Why mess with perfection ;) The guy making them was nice but he wasn't really energetic enough to explain the sugars etc.. But it was pretty self explanatory. I almost welcome the fact that he wasn't trying to up sell a silly sugar or dipping sauce. So, they get a solid 5 star rating from me for sure! read more

Had an order of "Urban Monkey" ... The staff was very pleasant, cool, laid back. Environment was nice, music was good. @6pm on Wed, throwback Chris brown. The taste was on point, it tastes like what it is ... However it's kind of heavily sugared. They say "uniquely sugared" but to me it was kind of heavy. Price is on the pricey side: $6 for 6 mini donuts. But it's Chelsea market!!? The only down to this spot is the HUGE group of tourists walking through the Market... So head down 15th after 9th towards 10th and use their SIDE ENTRANCES to dodge tourists who are just walking very slowly and stopping in the middle of the walkways. read more

Very cool idea...mini doughnuts in a million flavors! The doughnuts are fresh and warm which is lovely. All the doughnuts are the same but the flavor is in the toppings. Some toppings taste fake but the traditional cinnamon and sugar is the most natural out of the 5 different toppings I tried. I live in an area that does fresh natural apple cider donuts in the fall which are amazing and unfortunately these apple cider couldn't hold a candle to those. Delicious, little hot doughnuts! This place is located inside Chelsea Market and had a steady line. Service was quick and there are lots of sugar coating and topping options. We ordered six doughnuts and opted for half cinnamon sugar and half powdered sugar. The powdered sugar is the best on these hot doughnuts. I have to assume your experience here is very dependent on the donuts you choose, as I've been to Doughnuttery locations in the city twice, with very different experiences. I loved the first one I went to last winter, where my friend and I got a range of more mild-flavored doughnuts. I was in last night with friends who tried the cacao boy and spicy rooster doughnuts, neither of which impressed me. The cacao boy in particular didn't taste good at all (but then again, I probably wouldn't have picked it had I been the one buying the doughnuts, so...), and the Sriracha/doughtnut combination just didn't work for me. read more

Doughnuts were delicious. Unfortunately the 3 staff members working were extremely unprofessional. The workers were constantly on their phones and VERY uncouth. By the graces of God I ordered my doughnuts right before they shut down for half an hour do to a large order. While waiting for my order of 12 doughnuts the staff just stood around and would not address us and were just talking over them amongst themselves. Finally when my order was ready they just threw the bags across the counter aggressively then continued their nonsense. The minimum order is 6, but of those 6, you can only have two flavors which I don't get. The base doughnut is always the same-- they're just rolled in different sugars. Would it really be that terrible to let people try others? Anyway, when hot, my boyfriend said they were excellent. After that, just OK. This would get 5 stars except for the price point, but more on that in a minute. This little morsels of goodness are scrumptious. Really fresh, you watch them get fried on a cool looking conveyor belt almost, and magically get flipped and then dropped into a bag full of your choice of coating/topping. Because the process is slightly interactive it is unique and fun to watch. The toppings and dipping sauces are a cool thing to be able to mix and match, the possibilities could be endless. But you would go broke trying out each combination in that each doughnut is one about one bite for me, which is about $1 each unless you buy a greater quanity and then the price per doughnut goes down to about 0.75 but still, that's a lot especially for a munchkin sized bite. Their cinnamon sugar is a fail proof option, as is dipping it in nutella. Other flavors we've tried and loved have been Urban Monkey (coffee, banana and coconut-YUM) and fruity cereal (my childhood fav cereal-fruity pebbles!) and PB&J (I mean who doesnt like PB&J?!) I could easily devour 25 of these mianuture bites, but i dont want to pay $20 for them, regardless of how tasty they are....but maybe at 1am when the craving hits, I might bc they're just that addicting! read more

The donuts were cute, fluffy, and had very unique flavors, but for $6 it's way overpriced for what it is since the donuts are so small, and there was a ton of excess sugar on the bottom of the bag. It's an interesting place to experience and let the kids watch the mini donuts being made right before their eyes. The donuts are good but the process they have isn't very efficient. They write your order on bags- a bag for every type of donut you order - and then hand the bags to the person making the order. Types: I have tried: Cinnamon Sugar, Powdered sugar, Glazed, Glazed with Sprinkles, Fruity Cereal, and Green Tea. Cinnamon Sugar is hands down my favorite, followed by Glazed with Sprinkles. This place is fabulous, a tiny shop located in Chelsea Market, definitely a great way to bring a smile to your face (or friends and family). We came here at 2:00PM on a snowy weekday and they had a line, so I can only imagine how crazy it gets during the normal or busy hours. The smell is amazing and whisks you over. The donuts are pumped out by a small machine and cooked fresh right in front of you, everything is served warm. The donuts are mini and super tiny, they are served plain and you can choose amongst almost a dozen custom sugar toppings, all unique and absolutely delicious. The only downfall is your flavor limit. We got 6 donuts to share (between two people, i could have probably eaten all 6, but it was for the best that I only had 3) and you can only pick 2 flavors, bummer, but understandable. So if you got 12 you could pick probably 4 flavors etc... etc... We would come back again to try allll the flavors. Ordered 6 tiny, tiny donuts. Like real tiny. It was $6.50 and im just not sure it was worth it. I ordered two flavors: the vanilla glazed and purple pig (maple bacon). I did enjoy both flavors, especially the purple pig as it was covered in sugar but the bacon flavor was infused in the dough perhaps (?) which was quite interesting. However the price and size of the donuts is just not worth it. It feels a little gimmicky and 1 small donut, smaller than the size of my palm (and I have small hands!) is a little over $1 each.
