Coffee is now ubiquitous with daily life in America, which brings me to Qamaria Coffee. Hatem and Munif are two Yemeni entrepreneurs with a passion for Yemeni Coffee and the joint goal of wanting to share it with the world. They founded Qamaria Coffee in 2019 to accomplish this task and in January 2024, they opened a location near Milwaukee in Greenfield, WI. Qamaria offers a variety of dessert options, including a Chocolate Tres Leches, Pistachio Tres Leches, and Caramel Tres Leches cakes. I went with the caramel version, which is described by the cafe as "A decadent caramel treat inspired by tres leches cake, creamy, sweet, and irresistibly smooth". If you've never had Tres Leches Cake, it's a light sponge cake soaked in three types of milk (evaporated, condensed, and whole) that's popular in Latin America. The cake originated in Nicaragua during the 19th century, so on first glance it's not exactly a Yemeni dessert. Doing some research, Middle Eastern variations exist that feature cardamom or rose water and some Qamaria locations do have a Rose Tres Leches. It's fine that the Greenfield location did not have that variety as I honestly would have got the caramel version anyway. My slice was perfectly moist as there was plenty of milk soaked in, but not so much that it made a mess or compromised the structure of the cake. The bottom layer was soft and Tiramisu-like in texture, while the cream on top was rich and thick. Personally, I found the caramel flavor to be mild, but delicious. As it is served chilled, it paired nicely with a hot cup of coffee (which they have a plethora of options to choose from). Doughboy approved Doughboy_Food_Reviews

First, a tip: let the staff know when it's your first visit, and they'll gift you a yummy cruller!…read more To be honest, the thing I've purchased here over and over again is the chocolate frosted dipped old fashioned chocolate donut because it's heaven on earth and I need nothing else. It's perfect for breakfast, it's perfect for dessert, it's perfect as a midnight snack. I once purchased a bag of chocolate dipped crullers that were really fresh and quite delicious, but it's that donut that keeps me going back. Staff can be slow at times. No one ever seems to be in a hurry to serve, but they are friendly.

They also offer a great variety in rolls and potato salad. On my first visit, I also got a couple of condiments from Boar's Head that I've never seen at the store, and they are very good. My husband tried the crawlers and he quickly became a fan. On my second visit, I placed an order online in advance, and also called to confirm my order but when I got there they didn't have my order, and they didn't know about me order either. Fortunately I was there early so they could fulfill the order very quickly. Overall, the service is OK. The store is clean and organized. Tip: Get there early, or you will be waiting in line that goes all the way out to the parking lot...even in winter!

It feels like I was just here the other day but I think it's coming up 2 months since my prior…read morevisit. Yesterday was just wonderful, got to appreciate the outdoor seating since the weather was a perfect 73°. The hanging pansy basket was just stunning, looks like the award winning ones that are on sale at the west Allice farmers market. If that's the case I love that they're supporting local. And the whole block is in theme with the same color palette of hanging baskets!! I thought the next time I came would be to dive into one of their pies. Lo and behold I had to go with what I had last time, since it was so good! The apple danish. Chefs kiss! It hit the spot, and it's dangerous because you could be so full yet you just want...another. Additionally today I got the mocha scone, it sounded promising. It didn't mark anything special for me, but I'm glad I gave it a try. The icing tasted like as if a chocolate espresso bean took icing form, it was very visually appealing and was more on the coffee side for flavor. I felt like it wasn't dry, but it wasn't very moist? Can anything with raspberries be bad? In my book, almost never. That being said I also got the raspberry cheese danish, a classic, they're generous on the raspberry jam. The woman at the counter was personable which is always pleasant especially in a bakery, even when you're tired . Everybody walking through the neiborhood weather intentionally going, or just passing by seemed to stop in. They have a punch card for $5 off after the 10th visit. It can be punched at 3 different locations, a cheese shop and a meat shop! The cheese shop downtown has been on the go-2 list. I know I'll be back here, for one of the pies, for real this time. And for the cutest jar of sprinkles I've ever seen on a shelf.
