Truffle mushroom pizza loaded with lots of toppings
Diane Y.

Double Zero is an all vegan pizza restaurant and it has merged with the sister restaurant next door, so it is now called Plant Made. Same delicious food, excellent service, nice environment. Really amazing crust. Super yummy food that is all made with plants. Non dairy cheese. Highly recommend.

Plain slice

Was given a plain slice from here, it was pretttttty good. Not too much sauce on the pizza than I normally would like, but the slice was still in tact and not very oily. Only til after doing research, I didn't know it was plant based. Would definitely try other items on the menu

Not the best, we had two choices to try vegan pizza and we ended coming here. Did not like the truffle mushroom pizza and baby kale. The baby kale was so bitter to put on the pizza. The service sucked and they got my drink wrong the first time. We did like the drinks though had the decal with roasted pineapple drink and a michelada.

Double Zero NEVER disappoints! I've been coming here since they first opened and am so happy to see them still thriving. The service is consistently excellent, and the ambiance is both relaxing and social. The food was, as always, absolutely delicious!

Mushroom TRUFFLE CASHEW CREAM

Thin crispy crust. Lowkey casual ambiance yet still nice date spot. Outdoor seating can be noisy on the street but still nice to people watch on the side walk. Truffle pizza is a must if you like mushrooms, it was so delicious and very truffle tasting. The pesto one was also really yummy but not a must.

Truffle pizza is INCREDIBLE!! Wow, I never knew I could like vegan food this much. I find myself craving these dishes all the time. Service is pretty good and restaurant is a bit cramped because of spacing. I don't love that parties are double seated to a bench but hey it's new york. I do love everything I've tried on the menu. Some pizzas aren't particularly unique but I love the dishes that are more than just vegan recreations of normal meals. There are very imaginative menu options that are super tasty and I recommend ordering more of those!!

Mac and Cheese

This was the second time I've come to double zero and it did not disappoint. We stopped in mid afternoon and it was pretty empty. The waiter came over and was very helpful with a wine recommendation. We ordered a pizza and Mac and cheese to share both were delicious. They also have a clean bathroom to use. Ambience is cute nothing spectacular. Nice music.

MANGO CHEESECAKE WITH WINTER CITRUS.

The little restaurant bar has a surprising number of tables to accommodate diners and provides a cozy plant filled oasis from the bustle of the city. I didn't love the pizza I got, but really that was my fault. I was so curious about the truffle pizza that I ordered it knowing I don't really like mushrooms ‍ And boy does it have a lot of mushrooms!!! That said the crust was perfection the truffle flavor was perfect, and the cashew (I believe) cheese was so delicious I also ordered a basil lemonade and the mango cheesecake. Both were good and the lemonade was a stand out star. I would agree with other reviewers that the cheesecake felt like more of a mango dessert which is fine with me, and I loved the fruit that garnished the plate. I can't remember the last time I had a strawberry with that much flavor. Although I'm not vegan it was a treat to walk into a restaurant and be able to eat anything on the menu without having to worry about dairy contamination. The service was just right and I really would love to come back and try some of the pizzas I would typically order. I can't recommend enough giving it a try. The food at the tables around me looked beautiful!

A friend and I stopped by before going to a comedy club and everything we are was absolutely delicious. We specifically can't here because my friend wanted to check out more vegan options crafted by the same chef and it did not disappoint. As someone who isn't vegan, but hangs out with a lot of vegans, I have to say, this is the best vegan cheese I've ever had on a pizza. It was creamy, had the right texture, 10/10 would have again. The restaurant is lovely and the table setups are perfect for larger groups to reserve. The staff always came over right when we needed something, and the drinks were solid.

SERVICE - located off of 3rd avenue near the border of East village and LES - limited outdoor seating and good amount of indoor seating - good for groups of up to 8 people - our server was new that day so he made sure to take care of all of our needs and asked plenty of questions to make sure our order was accurate - ambiance good for a nicer lunch or dinner MENU - appetizers, pizzas, and a few non pizza items - all vegan - gluten free options available - average price ($23 per pizza) FOOD - eggplant parmigiana (7/10): eggplant slices layered with vegan cheddar cheese and coated in tomato sauce. This makes a good dish to share especially if you want something that is not a pizza. The cheese in the middle is very creamy but not cloying. I liked how the eggplant was still somewhat fresh and the brightness of the tomato sauce. - fungi agrodolce (8/10): roasted mushrooms with pistachio yogurt. This was a unique item on the menu so we wanted to try it. I would highly recommend if you are a mushroom lover. The roasted mushrooms take the spotlight with the yogurt being a good vehicle. I would have liked this with some bread or crackers to absorb the flavors. - garden pizza (6/10): garlic cream base topped with corn, shiitake and cremini mushrooms, spinach, and red peppers. This pizza was a bit of a letdown. From the description I was expecting it to be more cohesive but it felt like the ingredients were just put on a base and baked. - squash blossom pizza (9/10): rice mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, squash blossoms, and balsamic drizzle. I really liked this pizza. Both the rice mozzarella and the squash blossom are not typical flavors you would find in a pizzeria. This one incorporated both very well and it had a similar taste to a caprese sandwich. - cheesecake (8/10): cashew cheese topped with berries. This was a good dessert to share at the end of the meal. WOULD I GO BACK? Yes! I liked the food and the ambiance and it is nice to have an Italian spot with more than one vegan option

Artichoke and Truffle Cashew Cream (and Passionfruit G&T and Strawberry Spritzer)

Double Zero is another stellar restaurant by Matthew Kinney that has managed to stay alive (RIP Plant Food & Wine and Sestina). The menu here features delicious pizzas and other small plates and pastas. They also have a wonderful drink menu. The Artichoke and Truffle Mushroom Pizzas are some of their most popular pizzas, and I can see why: they were delicious and so full of flavor. I also really loved the crust: thin, but fluffy around the edges. We also tried the Meatballs, which were just okay in my opinion: they were more just like tightly-molded balls of quinoa which I thought was a bit odd, would've preferred a soy-based protein instead. All of the seating inside is countertop, so on a busy evening you may be forced to make a new friend. But from my experience this place doesn't get too busy! If you're looking for good, quality vegan pizza, this is your place!

I went to Double Zero for a vegan friend's birthday. The restaurant is quite small but my friend had made a reservation so we were seated pretty quickly. However, the people in our party all arrived at different times but the staff was very accommodating. A+ in regards to service. There were 11 of us so we just ordered a bunch of pizzas and pasta. To be completely honest I don't remember everything we ordered but I tried it all and it was all quite good. My favorite thing of the night was certainly the Spicy Arabiata pie. The shiitake bacon and cauliflower added some great texture and flavor to the pie and a nice helping of basil on top was refreshing. The crust on all of the pies was nice and crisp with the right amount of char. Another pie I really enjoyed was the Basil Sunflower Pesto. It's definitely a more exotic type of pizza, but as a fan of pesto I was very pleased. My favorite of the pastas was the Cacio e Pepe. It wasn't too heavy and the flavor was simple and clean (in a good way). The pasta was cooked well with a nice chew to it. For a return visit I'd probably get this again. The food is a little pricey but it was very good. I wouldn't mind coming back.

Love their food! My favorite is the basil sunflower pesto. The cashew ricotta is incredible, with a texture reminiscent of actual ricotta. (Better than the vegan mozzarella, which, while good, is a little far off from actual mozzarella.) The meatballs are also a super tasty and nutritious option.

They sat us upstairs along the balcony overlooking the main dining room, and the decor... honestly, just look at the photo because I don't even know how to describe it The space used to be a church, and it is SO cool inside. Definitely not your average pizza joint. This place is popular -- there were plenty of people eating -- but surprisingly, our wait wasn't long at all. And even with all the bodies in there, it never felt crammed or uncomfortable. We ordered a small pizza and did half Shrimp Fra Diavolo and half Margherita. The Fra Diavolo had a little kick, but nothing crazy -- and this is coming from someone who cannot handle big spice The Margherita had just the right amount of basil and mozzarella, and that crispy crust was exactly what I wanted. Although there was no major cheese pull, it was still perfect. The small was plenty for the two of us and honestly just perfect. We also had a couple cocktails, which were delicious too. I always say NYC food pricing is kind of deceiving. You look at the price and go, "Ummm..." but then the food comes out and you realize they give you A LOT. Definitely felt like we got our money's worth here. Great pizza, really cool atmosphere, and a fun first NYC pizza experience for the husband. Happy Eating, Chass

Last year, I was at Nothing Really Matters, the bar next door, with a group of friends. Someone ordered pizza, and I had no idea where it came from. Ariel was fantastic - he was friendly, welcoming, and so accommodating despite us showing up without a reservation. Ariel provided excellent service from the moment we walked in until we left. I didn't take any photos, which I now regret, because their pepperoni pizza was salty, addictive, and just really, really good. Do people not realize that putting a bar near a door on a freezing cold night benefits no one? Good thing I did not order alcohol or I would have froze to death. Seriously, none of the pies stood out in grand memory. All I can think of is, well, nothing. Nothing positive anyway. The names of the pies are funny, and the staff is friendly, but besides that, the quality of the food for lack of a better word, dare I say it, sucks. Hoping to salvage the meal, I ordered their Chicken Parmesan. It was the Hail Mary pass that unfortunately did not connect. The cutlets are overcooked and dry, and the red sauce cooked with it has minimal tomato flavor. At least the spaghetti is cooked to a nice al dente and mellow garlic butter flavor, but like the sauce cooked in, it is also minimal. Part of the problem I feel is they are trying to go for a vibe that has a New York and modern feel. It does not work. Stay true to one or the other. Or at least look at other business models. I will use another pizzeria in Bushwick that exemplifies it perfectly. It is a hipster pizzeria in a hipster neighborhood. Through balance, it creates an ambiance both welcoming and warm without losing any of its Bushwick character. It does this by not beating you over the head with hipster vibes, just enough to let you know that you are in Bushwick. The band Franz Ferdinand was playing as I was wrapping up. Instead of the usual dark, sticky tavern wood, they've dropped in a long, continuous slab of pristine, elegantly smooth white stone. It glows under the soft lighting like a block of polished marble. There are no strobe lights and no obnoxious, skull-rattling bass in this joint. Instead, the room is wrapped in a blanket of incredibly chill music that matches the pulse of the room perfectly.
