Fried Shrimp with a Sesame Sauce
    Monica P.

Shane was our waiter. He was very nice and patient while we decided what to order. Tony and I started with fried shrimp that came with a sesame sauce. For our entrees, he had the "Ants climbing a tree" and I had the Mu Shu pork. Both were excellent. Big portions! Leftovers! Our friends had the spring rolls, beef with broccoli and general Tao's chicken. Also very good. Great place for Chinese foods!

Amazing food! Unbelievable! I can't believe we actually found a Chinese restaurant here in NC that is this good! We are accustomed to high-end Chinese cooking and most of the places we have tried we would not recommend. But this place is OUTSTANDING! The staff was amazing and the food was even better. A great jazzy soundtrack created the perfect ambiance. This is a must try.

When we arrived we were sat immediately. Staff was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. Food came out fast and was great! I forgot to get better photos lol.

Mu Shu pork with wraps/pancakes on left, and General Tso's Chicken on right
    April L.

Super easy to order and pay online. And best part was it was ready for pick up in 15 minutes. The website listed all the instruction to pickup so we knew exactly what to do when we got there. We ordered the Mu Shu pork and General tso's chicken. A good amount of food. They included a small box of edamame too. They forgot the brown rice that I selected with the mu shu but it came with wraps/pancakes which was unexpected since I'd never ordered mu shu before. But it was very good with the hoisin sauce. Everything had good flavors and I'd like to try more of their menu when we can dine inside! It looks like a nice restaurant instead of just doing takeout.

    Ma po tofu

As I write, they are doing takeout only, with online ordering that gives clear text message updates and easy pickup at a table at the door. The menu has a few clearly marked vegetarian things, and a ma po tofu seems like a reasonable classic dish to judge them on. I asked for very spicy, and it came drowning in chili oil. I added bok choy, which I discovered pleasantly chopped so as to blend in better, but found a few other vegetables floating in my very full takeout container as well. I'm always pleased for brown rice as an option, and they gave me some edamame for some reason as well, plus a bunch of fortune cookies. Plenty of food. I could imagine the menu expanding a bit for me, but I was happy with what I got.

Excellent Asian cuisine. Large portion sizes, quick service. Floors were a little sticky by the end of the night but the rest of it seemed clean. Staff was very friendly. Plum wine is super sweet but very tasty.

I don't know what "that" was....but it was NOT meat!!! Hide yo cats!!! Inflation is real, but the 2-3 pieces of "meat-like" substance in my dish was not beef! it was all gristle and it was sparse! when I called back, the guy argued with me and stated that I "ordered onions". then he said I ordered "no green onions" so they "gave me more onions". when I took the dish back in (and he saw all of the green onions), he then accused me of eating all of the "meat" out of the dish! DO NOT EAT HERE! they're substituting meat with other substances, and skimping on that! at least give me a whole cat leg!

Order General Tso chicken and pork fried rice. General Tso was bland and mushy. Very disappointing.

Bland overpriced food. Go to the original location because this one is overrated. I'm surprised to see any ratings over three stars.

There is an elevator you can take to the 2nd floor. Had a nice view of the ocean from our table. We didn't have enough time to check out the beach since it became dark early. There are quite a few steps to get down to the beach area from the restaurant (since it is on the 2nd floor) and you will need to walk a short distance. We started off with the Pork belly banh mi sliders appetizer, which were an excellent choice. I loved the crunchy bits of the sweet and salty pork belly. For entrees we had the handhelds Bacon jam B.L.T. and Vegan burger. The Bacon jam B.L.T. was great. The vegan burger was okay - I didn't like the flavor as much and the big raw onion slice. Both entrees came with a choice of a side - we chose fries and sweet potato tots. Fries were good. Sweet potato tots were not bad but not as crispy compared to Mess Hall's tator tots. Also had the pesto flatbread with balsamic glaze, which was good. The flatbread was more on the softer side. It sure made for a tasty leftover snack. Service was okay. Highchairs are available. They have a Kids menu/coloring page with crayons. Would come back to try other foods.

The place was about 60% full. Bailey was our server and did a fantastic job answering questions and getting the food to us. We started with two flights of wine, one red and the other white. There were four glasses in each flight and they gave you a card to inform you of each wine. For an appetizer, we had the Tuna tower and very tasty and enough for two. For dinner we had the line caught fish (Unicorn), thr taste was fabulous, very light along with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. The other meal was a pasta dish with their homemade meatballs. Pasta was done right, sauce was good, and the meatballs were great. For dessert we had the grilled peach sundae. Great food, wine atmosphere, service. GO EAT THERE,!

Once entering I had to wait to be seated as the hostess was overwhelmed with the couple before me. She was very nice once it came my turn. I opted to sit on the patio since it was a beautiful evening. The bar seemed crowded with what appeared to be locals. There were only a few of us on the patio but it filled up as I was leaving after a delightful meal. Love the mix of old seaside decor and the memorabilia. This place has history. Now for the food. I had to have the She crab soup as that is one of the things the place is known for. It was tasty. Not a lot of experience with this style soup but I enjoyed it almost as much as I would have a nice bisque. The side salad was a bit small but typical mix and the blue cheese was good but needed more of it. (More on that later) I opted for water tonight as I was trying to behave but they do have a full bar and a good wine list. The waitress was very knowledgeable and when I told her I was going to try one of the fresh catches Carolina style she recommended the Drum. It was very tasty. I would have loved to have more of the Carolina topping to sop up with the nice biscuits they brought out. The Mac and Cheese was also tasty. The vegetable tonight was green beans so that didn't sound very exciting so opted for the Mac. Probably not the healthiest choice but was tastier in my humble opinion. Great experience food wise and my poor server needs a medal or something. She was attempting to cover the bar area and the patio by herself. She was literally running trying to make it all work. She was great but it does appear they need to hire a few more folks to help.
