Absolutely delicious Thai! It's our favorite. Try the drunken noodles. Everything was tasty!

I usually get the combination Pho, but I'll spring for the Special Pho occasionally because it's so good! The pancakes appetizer is also amazing. I was given a cup of iced water while waiting for take out which was appreciated. I was shown the newest menu they have which I've attached photos of; I purchased the bone marrow pho, a beef banh mi, a pork banh mi, and 2 vietnamese iced coffees. I'm not the biggest fan of pho, but I had to for this bone marrow dish! This is so hard to find I knew I couldn't pass it up. It was absolutely delicious and they had a great variety of meat that was all tender. I love the soft tendon it's my personal favorite! The banh mis are just as good and are THE perfect baguette texture, not too crispy and not too fluffy. Now with their coffee, I personally prefer an authentic phin drip cà phê sữa đá for the rich flavoring, as I believe this is just bottled lees coffee. It's still good, but could be better. It's amazing how much variety they have that can be difficult to find, like BÒ NÉ, as it reminds me of home in Vietnam. Overall, a great experience and I am 100% coming back to try more!

I have only two experiences in sushi restaurants in Wilmington. Both were excellent experiences. We were immediately served at the bar and well taken care of by Savannah while waiting for our party. My husband ordered a vodka soda with lime - perfection ...tasted like a sprite. I had a sweet unfiltered cold sake- love how it was displayed on a bucket of ice. Our party of 7 were placed in the back and most of them were already familiar with the restaurant. Some of them had vegan entrees and the tofu, rice, & vegetable entrees they ordered looked plentiful and delicious. Some ordered sesame chicken or seafood. They all looked colorful and delicious. My husband ordered a bang bang spicy shrimp appetizer. Very well cooked and filling. I had escolar sashimi - tasted like melt in your mouth fatty tuna with a buttery texture. I ordered the Super Toro Roll: Spicy tuna, avocado, tempura flake top with blue fin toro, jalapeno sauce, chili oil, fish roe and scallions . It was a scrumptious & large specialty roll. It was more than I expected - high in taste, quality, and quantity. Our server was very pleasant and efficient. She refilled our drinks & expedited our meals in a swift manner. I was told there were two Nori restaurants were in Wilmington, yet this was the better of both restaurants. We enjoyed our time here and plan to visit Nori at this location again.

I don't usually write reviews but this has happened too many times and the "we're sorry" or "we'll give you a $10 coupon" isn't enough. The past 4 orders have constantly missed something we've both paid for and requested verbally whether we picked up the to go order or go through Uber Eats. This time it was the fried rice, last time the Yum Yum sauce, before that the sushi roll, etc. I called and asked for the manager, Jackson. He apologized like they've done everytime and then offered a $10 coupon for next time. Sorry I want my fried rice. I've ordered from Lucky Star for 15 years and they've never forgot rice or sauce or anything. I then asked for the owner just to let everyone aware before leaving a bad review. Jackson immediately replied that "you're not going to like my answer she's out of the country for the next few months"....he was right that's not the answer I wanted...I wanted my rice! Just another example how bad management & leadership will lead to bad service. It's a shame cause the food (when you get what you ordered) is good. I would highly recommend against ordering online unless you're ok getting a "we're sorry excuse" when your food that you paid for doesn't show up.

My wife ordered the Vietnamese Lemongrass Chili Chicken, but unfortunately it was extremely salty, even by my standards, and I tend to enjoy saltier foods. We also ordered two cocktails that came out much sweeter than expected. It left us wondering whether some additional tasting and quality control in both the kitchen and bar could help improve consistency. That said, our server, John, was excellent throughout the evening. He was attentive, professional, and genuinely cared about our experience. When we mentioned the issue with my wife's meal, managers Jack and David both checked on us personally and worked hard to make things right. Their involvement and concern did not go unnoticed and reflected a commitment to customer service. We've visited Cafe Chinois over the years and have noticed changes since the passing of the previous owner and the family's transition into running the restaurant. The menu has evolved, and the overall atmosphere feels a little different than it once did. During our visit, there was some trash on the floor that remained for a while, suggesting that attention to detail may not be quite where it used to be. Even so, the excellent service from John, Jack, and David, along with the quality of my entrée, showed that the restaurant still has a strong foundation. With a little more consistency in the kitchen and bar, Cafe Chinois can continue to be one of Wilmington's favorite dining spots.

If the owner replaced the glass and they kept it clean, that would be a huge step up for this place. Also, the black-painted flooring in the back near the restroom area was in poor repair. Other than that, the restaurant was nice and comfortable. Now, on to the more positive... For about $17 or $18, I ordered an order of spicy tuna roll, an order of shrimp tempura roll, an order of shrimp and vegetable tempura--which came with four shrimps--and an order of the Hibachi Chicken, which was, in itself, two meals. It was a full container of food, rice on one side ("fried rice" but nothing like real fried rice), vegetables on the other, with lots of chicken in between. Not only that, that price included a Sweetwater Pale Ale Beer. It was unbelievable! There is no better deal in town! Granted, I did get 50% off on the sushi portion because I was there on a Sunday night. But, what a deal! The food itself was okay--slightly better than mediocre (good)--but not great or excellent. The tempura was my least favorite item, as it was extremely greasy and not traditional Japanese-style "drier" tempura coating. Also, in the spicy tuna roll, there really wasn't much tuna as much as there was a lot of sweetened sticky rice. So, overall, for the food I would give it a 3, but for value, a 5. Service was also a 5. The staff are efficient and friendly. I would definitely return for the great bargain prices! I mean... $1.49 for a bottle of Sweetwater Pale Ale!!
