The sushi is pretty good. Have never had a bad service or food experience so far. The restaurant's interior definitely needs renovation though. read more

Me and my girlfriend have gone to this spot several times over the course of the past 8 months. We've always had the best service and food there is to ask of any restaurant. However, on Valentine's day, our service was subliminal. Our first waitress was running around and stressed, then our second waitress seemed off. We waited 10 minutes for our drinks and then 15-20 minutes before we got our soup and salad. Then another 40 minutes passed. By then it was 8:30 and we were very impatient and hungry. After grabbing our waitresses attention from socializing with another table she gave us the okay to leave. Once we got up, there was very little business going on. Multiple tables empty, very few tables actually needed service. We are still trying to understand what happened, we love this restaurant as it's been here during our relationship. Not sure if this was a staffing issue or what. read more

Absolutely delicious. Been going here for years and I'm shocked by the low rating. They always have buy 2 get a 3rd sushi roll for free which is so hard to find these days. Their lunch special is delicious, good portions, and a great price. The crab Rangoon is a newer menu item and is SO good! read more

We were visiting friends in Leland and stopped on our way to get lunch. Six happiness was delicious. We got the Leland roll, chicken hibachi and steak hibachi. The sushi came out quickly as a perfect appetizer. I thought it was delicious. Our hibachi was good as well. We had great service and would go back! read more

Four of us had dinner here recently. It was my first time dining in, while the first time at all for my friends. The interior isn't fancy but it has some colorful Japanese umbrellas hanging from the ceiling and Japanese prints on one wall. There's no music in the background, so the atmosphere was lacking. We would have enjoyed listening to Japanese music or any other music, rather than the hum of the HVAC system. This place didn't "feel" Japanese or lively; no "irasshaimase!" greetings (Welcome, please come in). The place could use some updating. As far as the food goes, everything ranged from good to excellent! Our appetizers: fried gyoza for DH and me; and shrimp dim sum and vegetable soup for our friends. We were happy with our choices! Six Happiness has a buy two sushi rolls and get one free deal. It took a while to figure out what we wanted as they had a list of 53 rolls!!! If you haven't been here before, take the time to study the menu in advance. It took us several minutes to figure out what we wanted. My friends ordered the Amazing Salmon Roll, Leland Roll, and Hawaiian Rolls. DH and I ordered the Leland Roll, Summer Roll, and Green House Rolls. For me, my favorites were the Leland and Summer Rolls. Love that they named one for our town. All of us were really happy to have this place near where we live to enjoy some good sushi. There aren't a lot of restaurants in Leland so it's good to have a place like this nearby. I would give this place five stars if it weren't for some of the staff not wearing masks properly (noses were exposed) and the long wait for the food. It also took a while to get another coke or another carafe of sake, but at least we weren't rushed to get in and get out. I'm definitely looking forward to going back and try other rolls. Glad we found a place like this in Leland. read more

The food is fresh and very good. They have a large selection to pick from. The service is great. They check to see if you need anything and refresh your drink. It is a nice comfortable place to have dinner with friends or grab a quick lunch. read more

Food is excellent yet it's offset by dirty tables. Please clean tables as soon as possible. I had to ask the server to clean the table next to us. I won't be back until you replace the filthy curtains in the entry way and the beyond old booths with cracked vinyl seating. No wonder your dining room is empty ... read more

I really hate do this review. I feel like I'm sharing my little secret James Beard hidden gem. I just don't want this place to get too crowded and popular, meaning I can't get a table when I drop by. I've been here twice over the past 2 months and was just as impressed with the second trip as the first. We come by during their lunch specials, smaller portions but smaller prices, but enough so you leave satisfied but not miserable. Everything we had has been delicious: Pad Thai is awesome, basil chicken, massaman curry, all fantastic. I thought the sushi was adequate. My daughter loves sushi so that's her meal both times, and she was thrilled with it. The Bento Box is a great meal here, quite a variety of food and you feel like you had a chance to try so much. Our service has been good, a little slow the second trip but really not bad that I was upset. We will be returning here again soon. Last trip we got 7 entrees and a pot of hot tea. $73 including tax, before tip. read more

I got here late...8:15 pm so there were only two other customers. I sat at Sushi Bar as I just wanted a roll and maybe sashimi. Hope, the Hostess/waitress was absolutely as sweet as she could be! Sushi chef (I know that's not what they are called) was pleasant. I ordered hot sake; very delicious. I also ordered the Dinosaur Roll and Escolar sashimi! It was served so fast I didn't even see him making it but I was sitting directly in front of him LOL! EVERY bite was delicious!!! Very fresh fish!! All of the above is true. However, I just ordered a second Escarol sashimi...plate is not very clean! So I looked further into their info and found they had 8 violations for cleanliness, cleaning fruits, cleaning dishes and more! YUCK I'm now sick to my stomach!! But I cannot deny the fresh and delicious fish!!!! read more

Visited Six Happiness for the first time today and ordered hibachi chicken with fried rice. We arrived before 5pm and were some of the only people in the restaurant & still waited over thirty minutes for our food (hibachi chicken & an order of sushi). Overall the chicken was cooked well but lacked flavor, my vegetables (carrots, broccoli, & onions) were practically still raw & my fried rice was pretty much just white rice put on the plate with tiny bits of egg. read more

The service here was mediocre at best. The hostess and waitress did their jobs but were unfriendly. We felt that our presence was a bother to them despite being the only ones in the restaurant at 4:00 on a Sunday. We should've taken that as a hint to reconsider our dining choice. I ordered chicken teriyaki and my husband got sweet and sour chicken. We both had the same bland, unevenly cut and cooked chicken which was covered in what tasted like sauce out of a jar. The fried rice was merely plain rice with a dash of soy sauce and few dabs of egg spread throughout . The spring roll looked good and was crispy on the outside but soggy and tasteless inside. There are so many other amazing food choices in the Leland area that I wouldn't even consider a trip back to Six Happiness. read more

COCKROACHES WERE FASTER THAN THE SLOW SERVICE! Went here on 2/14/2025 and waited 25 mins to get seated. Very understaffed but it's a holiday so we just figured it was busy and we should cut em a break. Once sat, we saw how bad disrepair the seats, floors and bar were. Yikes. Again, wrote it off. We waited 45 mins for our mains, and during that time got a visit from a German cockroach on the wall. That was enough. We paid, got a bit of attitude from the cashier and won't be back. read more

Six Happiness - Uninvited dinner guest. He crawled up the wall on the left side of the restaurant. - Asian Fusion Near Me - Leland, North Carolina

This place is not as bad as I thought the first go around. I usually get the sushi/sashimi combo and it is pretty good. None of the combos for lunch come with soup or salad. The Kani salad comes with eel sauce on top and I always forget to ask for it not to come with that. It is always buy 2 rolls get one free and they are not bad. Service has gotten much better. For the Leland area, this is a good Asian spot. The interior is a typical dark room with booths and tables and cute pictures of sushi on the walls with faces on them. read more

THE BEST CHICKEN BEEF AND VEG UDON EVER!!! Spring rolls are so good we order extra and the buy 2 get one free sushi!

I don't why ever time I order Yaki Soba it has hair in it. The waiteress are nice but the owner wife of not friendly at all.

this is the 3rd dang time I've tried this place and it's the 3rd time they have gotten it wrong. Not sure how you read the right order back and then still mess up the order. But sushi sucks and again it's the 3rd separate time it's happened. Go to Wilmington if you want ACTUAL good sushi and get your right order. And im not going back in to wait 20/30 min to get it remade. I have kids with me and don't have time for that. I made 1000% sure she and I said the same order and IT STILL CAME OUT WRONG AGAIN. CRAZY. read more

ANYTHING and EVERYTHING you order here is going to be DELICIOUS!!! My kiddo always gets something new to try whenever we go. The Godzilla Roll and Race Track rolls are definitely a go to though. I have had mixed service here but my last visit was the best one yet. This is probably my 10th time visiting Six Happiness and that is because the food is great and the lunch prices are unmatched. I get the buy 2 rolls get 1 free and it usually comes out to around $15, unless you don't get any speciality roles. I've had a new server every time and again, some of my trips I've waited over an hour when nobody was in the restaurant to get my food but other trips have been better. The lunch pad Thai will cost you under $10 and it's a great portion. read more

Improve quality and quantity of food. Service not the best. I used to go there but have heard and read too many complaints on Next Door.

Would not recommend dining in. The service is very slow. It took 40 min for California rolls and yaki udon noodles. Our server was MIA the whole time. The food was good it just took forever. They are more focused on their online/ take out orders. Next time we will just do take out. read more

Good local Asian dining. We haven't tried their sushi, but the hibachi and teriyaki meals are consistently good, and includes soup & salad. We like like mix/match choices of chicken, shrimp, steak, scallops, and the size of their booths let's us stretch out for a leisurely meal. read more

Literally always mess up my order. Always either miss instructions or forget an item in the bag that they charge for.

Alway fresh Asian cuisine, we'll attending service and acceptable ambiance in wonderful Brunswick County.

Best sushi i've ever had. I've visited so many places that range in prices and had sushi from fancy looking restaurants and none of them can compete. Their buy 2 get 1 free deal on rolls is actually insane. I've never been to a place that has that kind of deal and it's definitely worth it. The service is good and their sweet tea is pretty great too. Definitely recommend if you're looking for great sushi at a great price read more

Waste of money. Took over an hour to get our sashimi combo dinner. No staff, sashimi did not taste fresh and the ginger smelled like ammonia. Horrible read more

The service is horrible, I sat at the table for over a hour waiting on my food. The food was not worth the wait. The waitresses sat my family which is 5 people at a booth with a chair at the end of the table when there was a 6 person table with no one seated but it was not cleaned off. I do not recommend. read more

This is my favorite place for sushi... although I have a few on my list to try in Wilmington. I have started putting myself out there with sushi a little more and Six Happiness never disappoints. I love the Crazy Dragon roll, I also added the Sunset Roll and I am unable to recall the third one but I believe it was the Leland roll. At buy 2 get one free, you can't go wrong. Always fresh and made to order... The Sunset roll is spicy crab meat, crunch and cucumber inside with salmon and sliced lemon on top. The little sliver of lemon takes it to a different level. The Crazy Dragon roll is my reigning favorite with spring tempura and crab inside with eel sauce and avocado outside. My son loves the spicy tuna roll, the Boston roll and the eel and cucumber rolls. The spicy tuna roll is his absolute favorite! read more

Best sushi in Leland. Rhonda is the reason I come back every week! The owner is an angel and I am always happy with my meal

Horrendous. Soup was cold and loaded with salt. Salad had nothing but the white part of the iceberg lettuce head. Main dish came in the cold side with the shmrip over done. And the PRICE you see on the menu is nit the price you are charged. No warning that the prices have been changed. Surprise surprise when you get your check. I Love Sushi. However, I couldn't eat the sushi here. Every piece--the tuna, the salmon, the red snapper--was very stringy. I was literally pulling strings of tendon or fiber out of my mouth. Ew. LOW-QUALITY! There was also something wrong with the ginger. It was the worst ginger I've ever had in my 55 years on Earth--and 40 years of eating sushi. Not only that, service was horrible. I specifically asked for no mushroom with my tempura, and what did I get? Mushroom. The so-called manager, who was also our waiter, was a young kid. When I went to pay with a credit card, I waited 10 minutes to get the credit card slip back to sign, while I watched this guy stand at a booth with a family that had just arrived, schmoozing while I sat there waiting. This restaurant is a wannabe sushi place. Not a real one. Stay away... unless you have very low expectations. read more
