    A3. Egg Roll

I was in the mood for regular old American Chinese. I ordered the Szechuan Shrimp combo with steamed rice and it came with an egg roll. For the first time, a cheat meal actually was really good. The shrimp were excellent and I liked the egg roll and rice, too. I also had a delicious wonton soup. None of this meal felt greasy and oiled down. The crispy noodles with the soup were also wonderful. Great choice for American Chinese.

I was looking for a go-to Chinese place for quick and simple food in Wilmington. I've driven past this place a lot so figured we'd give it a try during the covid19 pandemic. It's just a regular strip mall restaurant that has a lot of dishes on their menu. The staff had masks on and left the food on a table outside so we weren't within 6 feet when we picked it up. We ordered the General tso's chicken combination, beef and broccoli combination, and cream cheese wontons. The fried rice didn't look like normal fried rice I'm use to. The meals were pretty standard for Chinese takeout. Sadly, they forgot the wontons. Since the place was only down the road, we called and they had them when we got there. I probably wouldn't have driven back but I was looking forward to the wontons. They were good after I heated them up along with the egg roll. I'd definitely check the bag before I leave next time.

My family is continuing our quest to find the best hibachi in town and next up was Fire Bowl. This is in the Porters Neck/Odgen region. It is placed in a little shopping center and in past cities we have found that those typically have the best Hibachi. My daughter got the lo main, I got the chicken hibachi, and my husband got a duo meal that the shrimp was little over cooked but the chicken was tasty. My daughter devoured her noodles pretty quickly so I would say it is safe to say the she enjoyed them. But the hibachi was just okay. The food was a little bland and you only get a single white sauce which was very sad since I could drink Japanese white sauce. I would in the future be sure to add extra sauces and just know that the food is not the best in town (we have yet to find that) but was not horrible.

Fire Bowl is a very Americanized version of Asian fast foods. Their menu contains pretty much any variation of common Chinese, Japanese and Thai foods but in a very simplified form for pretty low prices. It's one of the few quick dinner options in Ogden that is open until 11 during the week and is not a big chain. They are located right off market street in a tiny shopping center next to Camille's and Lisa's Nails. I've gotten take out here a couple times, trying the steamed veggies and rice, orange chicken, and Thai curry plate. All meals I've had were around $4-6 and plenty of food for the price. The quality is pretty good for what you pay for. The level of richness in flavor is pretty low but if you ask for chili or soy sauce that'll suffice, as long as you're not expecting the Ritz Carlton of Asian Cuisine. Every time I've gotten food here I've taken at least a meal or two back home with me in left overs, and it actually ends up tasting better reheated than it did fresh from their counter. The beverage options are very limited here and they do not have a free water jug. There are only a few tables inside and the environment isn't really date night material so I'd probably recommend getting to go and watching a movie while enjoying at home. Make sure to check your order bag for fortune cookies, if that's up your alley, because they are supposed to gibe them to you but every time I have to ask because they're so busy they forget. And what's an Asian take out meal without a fortune cookie? All in all decent place that's open late and good bang for your buck given the low prices and large portions.

Fire bowl has really good food if you're looking for that American takeout Chinese food. They get the orders right, everything is seasoned well...ohhhh and their chicken fried rice has so much chicken in it!! Good chicken too. Wonton soup is probably tge best in town. I highly recommend this spot for that Chinese takeout craving

This was the 2nd time I ordered takeout from Fire Bowl. The first time I got the chicken lo mein with fried rice. It was good but surprising spicy. This time I had the sweet and sour chicken combo dinner with wonton soup. It was good. It was pretty typical of American Chinese takeout. This will be my go-to whenever I get a hankering for Chinese food.

Been to the Fire Bowl a couple of times. The restaurant is primarily set up as a takeout place, the same as Dominos. It has 4 tables inside that can sit 10 people and a couple outside. Whenever I have been there, the only people that I have seen sitting at the tables are waiting for their to go orders. Although they have a fairly extensive menu, that includes some Japanese items, I go there for only two; their Egg Rolls which are substantial 4" long and 1 1/2"in diameter and their Roast Pork Fried Rice. I get fortune cookies and they throw in plenty of packets of hot mustard, sweet/sour sauce and soy sauce. Take these home and serve them to Trader Joe's Mandarin Orange Chicken and you have a delicious Chinese meal at home. Their service is fast, it takes no more that 10 - 15 Min. after I place the order for them to be delivering it to me. In and out with no hassle, that is the way a fast food place should run and having good food, what more can you ask for?

Authenticity at its finest…read more Me and my family went to Genki as we heard it was a great place to get sushi and other Japanese food and it did not disappoint. We were greeted immediately and the servers and chef said welcome in Japanese. We were given warm towels for our hands and it's really a great way to start a meal; it makes you feel revitalized. The inside is nice; they had traditional Japanese music playing in the background so it really set the tone. There are some tables, booths and a counter so you have options on where you can sit. The decor is nice with the lucky cat and other fun decorations. The waitress took our order with a smile on her face and asked us if we wanted recommendations on any of the products or food. She was knowledgeable on the menu and showed real enthusiasm with our questions. I could see the chef preparing the food was clearly skilled and so I did go with what the chef recommended. Before our appetizers, they brought us a complimentary side dish of edamame beans in seaweed salad which was refreshing. Then our appetizers came. We ordered Miso Soup, Garden Salad, California Rolls, Spring Rolls and Pork Gyoza. I had a few of The Pork Gyoza which was cooked perfectly. Crispy at first and then quickly melts in your mouth; was nice and hot too. My family told me the California Rolls and Garden Salad were yummy too. Then the entrees came out and they exceeded our expectations. My family that had the Chicken Fried Rice said it was delicious. One got the Grilled Salmon Dinner and another a Crunchy Roll I believe; they really enjoyed their dishes. My family that ordered the Sushi Platter liked his too (Philadelphia Rolls, Fire Cracker Rolls, Matt's Special and I believe some Salmon Rolls). I had gotten the Chef's recommended, which was two pieces of Yellowtail (Hamachi) and I believe Tuna (Kama-Toro). It was incredibly fresh; among the freshest nigiri I have ever had. I also then ordered their Fire Cracker Roll and that was very good; if you like something with a bit of spice you will love it. We wanted dessert but were too full; just gives us another reason to go back! Genki has something for everyone. Japanese comfort food, Sushi, Sashimi, Nigiri and more. If you haven't already gone, it's time to go; you won't be disappointed! Until next time! じゃあね!

The place has a traditional Japanese vibe with chef and staff shouting out, "Irasshaimase!" Welcome! Japanese music is in the background. The sushi bar was a great place to sit, as I like to watch the sushi chef work his magic in forming and creating beautiful dishes with the fresh seafood. There is a sign at the bar stating that it could take time to get an order out if there's only one chef. That was the case yesterday. I didn't mind at all, as I knew, based on the food I saw, I would be getting top quality, fresh sushi. And I did! I ordered the sashimi lunch ($21.50), which included a side. I selected the kimchee. The kimchee was delicious! I was given a small plate of edamame, which was marinate in some sort of sauce. Very tasty. The sashimi plate had 12 pieces, which I ate all of it! My favorite was the salmon and octopus. It came with a side of white rice. Service by Sophia was very nice. She was attentive. From what I could see, everyone was friendly and seemed to enjoy their job. When I got the bill, there was a charge for "Non-cash adjustment" in the amount of $0.86. I was paying in cash and was told it would be removed. The updated bill showed -$0.83 but still had the $0.86, which was not removed. Even at the bottom, it states, "We offer a cash discount." Oh well. Overall, a great place for lunch in an authentic Japanese atmosphere.

There are two distinct dining areas; the entrance off the street has menu boards, a counter, and very distinctive orange seating. The other dining room feels like a traditional Asian restaurant replete with tables equipped with a lazy susan for family-style dining. Although we saw Customers enter and order at the counter, we took a seat at a table and were waited on by a very polite server that knew the menu very well. She started our meal with a small serving of very tasty pickled bean sprouts, with carrots, and peanuts. We started our meal with the Hot and Sour Potato Salad. This seemed like what you'd get ordering hash browns at a Chinese version of Waffle House. It was shredded potatoes with carrots cooked in a spicy sesame sauce. It was very tasty, but could have benefited from another minute in the wok. The serving size was a bit skimpy for $8.95. Next up was an order of vegetarian dumplings. These were fantastic and quite possibly the best dumpings I've ever eaten. We received half a dozen incredibly fresh, just steamed dumplings that received a delicate pan fry. The included dipping sauce actually detracted from the dumpling because they were so flavorful. These are highly, highly recommended. Wow! Our Yuxiang Pork Ramen looked deceptively small but was actually a very large serving. There was a large bed of fresh noodles that had just been cooked with a generous serving of pork, wood ear mushrooms, carrots and peppers cooked in a spicy sauce. There was definitely some heat, but it was not excessive. However, I thought the sauce was somewhat gloppy. This was good but the consistency of the sauce detracted from the dish. All in all, our meal at Yaya's Bowl Ramen & Dumpling was a strong 4-star meal. If the sauce of the Yuxiang Pork Ramen had been less gelatinous, this would have been a candidate for a 5-star review. We'll definitely go back.
