I went to the Ming Wok at the Food Lion shopping center on College Road yesterday for take out. The food was delicious! I ordered three lunch meals and soup to try, figuring they wouldn't be very big and I could have them for the weekend. I could barely lift the bag to get it to the car! The Hot and Sour soup is the best I've had anywhere - and I always order it wherever I go. The crispies that go with the soup were not stale as they sometimes are. I thought the Teriyaki Chicken with noodles was scrumptious, the Chicken and Broccoli with fried rice yummy and the Pepper Steak with fried rice delicious. Next time I'm going to have white rice with one of the meals. Believe me, I still have so much food, I may have to freeze it. They also let you pick a cold drink for free to go with each meal, so I had three canned drinks. The prices were very reasonable, the wait was minimal, the service and friendliness of the employees was great and the food well - WONDERFUL! I should also say that the restaurant lacks atmosphere and is not inviting in it's looks. It's a fast food place - not a date night place. However, go for the lunch specials. They are rude, when my husband came into the place to order the one old lady yelled at him for not calling it in ahead of time, he was out of town he was not sure when he would get back to wilmington so that is why he waited to order till he got to their location in person. We have never eaten there again and never will, i make better food at home and he does not have to hear someone yell at him :) Customers work hard for their money, why waste it at a place that treats them like trash. read more

Live under a mile from this place and get it every time we want the typical Asian/American food experience. Only thing I'd warn about as stated in other reviews fried rice is actually that yellow rice that doesn't hit the spot if that's what your after. But have gotten most everything off the menu and it is good portions for the price. Never had a bad experience or bad food. Delivery came 30 min early tonight from what was stated which is a plus. They do have a delivery fee as every place has now but with delivery, tax, tip we got two orders cheese won tons, fried shrimp with fries, Szechuan chicken with white rice, hot and sour soup, egg roll for 30$. Pretty tasty food overall. The teriyaki chicken is good the bourbon chicken is eh. The lo mein is tasty and so are the egg rolls

The food was okay. We had a takeout order and I ordered the teriyaki shrimp with vegetables and rice. When it arrived I opened the lid and saw mostly mushrooms with maybe 6 shrimp total on the dish. I was pretty unhappy with that experience but am willing to try again with a different entree. read more

First off, they have a lot of safety precautions in place, plastic barriers and staff wearing masks. I ordered wonton soup, an egg roll and general tso's chicken with fried rice. The egg roll was pretty good, the soup had a little spicy kick to it which I liked. The portion of general tso's was tremendous, I couldn't even finish half. It was decent but the breading was mushy and falling off. It seems very difficult to find true fried rice in the area and theirs was no different, it's actually yellow rice but it was ok. I got a lot of food for $11 and I would consider trying it again, I'd give it 3.5 stars. read more

Well worth the price for the portions! My tofu with mixed veg was great! Not greasy at all. Fast, friendly service. Hit the spot for Chinese style take out for me. Boyfriend thought his general Tso chicken was okay but isn't a fan of chicken served directly on top of the rice (sometimes gets the rice a little soggy). I will definitely be returning! read more

Hard to find, as a mega church blocks the view to the sign. Its worth finding. The teriyaki orders are massive, with lots of meat and veggies. We even request half meat and extra veg the portions are so big. Appetizers arent that great though, so we sometimes order entree here and apps elsewhere which is annoying but the food is good enough to warrant the extra stop. read more

Ordered today, delivery online. 1 mile from restaurant, food came 2 hours later and was disgusting. My son had the sesame chicken and I had the general Tso, both were horrible. This was our first and last time. There was a lot of food more than normally found in any chinese restaurant. We felt they tried to make up for forgetting or over looking our order, and they gave us 2 sodas. I would have preferred less food that was delicious, even if it were late. Than what we received, pass this one by. Also, we've eaten chinese food all our lives, this is by far the worst. I ordered teriyaki chicken and shrimp without veggies with fried rice without onions. and it had onion's on the rice and veggies on top of the rice and had absolutely NO shrimp! They gave me everything I asked to not get and gave me nothing I actually asked for! I specifically asked if it had veggies and she said yes so i said take it them off and take onion's out the fried rice and she said no problem what's werid is my boyfriend asked for no onion's in his rice and they didn't put onion's in his only mine! read more

My husband and I ordered from here with a friend for dinner and all 3 of us were just sick to our stomachs for almost full 24 hours. My friend ordered the chicken wings and fries and everything was too burnt and greasy so he threw it away and went home. His fries and eggroll were both dripping with grease. My husband said his curry tasted good but puked 3 times since eating. I got the beef and broccoli with yellow fried rice and it was so saturated with grease that only parts of the rice were yellow, the rest was a muddy, dirty water color, the carrots were so thin and greasy they were practically mush and the beef was slimy, chewy, and yet grainy. The broccoli was OK and the only thing i could eat. I threw the rest out as soon as my friend texted and told us that he was puking too. The other reviews talk about price and portions. Both are correct! You get a lot of food for a good price. However, this is a quantity over quality issue. We ordered vegetable lo mein, fried wantons, egg rolls and vegetable fried rice. The rice lacked flavor. The egg rolls had an unpleasant taste which coats the mouth. The lo mein was more grease than noodles which resulted in a soar stomach. The only saving grace was the wantons, which were just okay. I guess the old adage is true. General Tso chicken was the best I've had in Wilmington. Delivery arrived right on time and the order was correct. The portions were generous for the price and cannot complain about my entree nor the egg roll. I also ordered fried cheese wontons (crab rangoons) which I have a slight complaint about. They came not fried all the way through & there was oil all over the bag they arrived in which got oil all over everything inside the plastic bag which made for a mess. I'm hoping it was just a mess up and this will not be a reoccurring issue since I plan to order from Ming Wok whenever I want Chinese food, and crab rangoons are must for every order. I love hot and sour soup. It has been my experience that about 90 percent of places don't know how to make it properly. This joint is in the ten percent. I cant comment on any of their other dishes. I go here once a week for one thing; some of the best hot and sour soup ive ever had. I also get an egg or shrimp roll sometimes which are standard chinese takeout quality. For one thing the soup doesn't look like motor oil like some places. It has a nice light brown broth that is full of flavor. Its not over the top hot and they add just the right amount of vinegar to make a perfect balance of hot and sour. I normally chip in an extra 50 cents for more tofu. Like I stated, I cant comment on the rest of their menu but if you are looking for a nice clean spot with friendly service and awesome hot and sour soup this is the place. read more

I was pleasantly surprised when we got takeout from here last night. The prices were low so I wasn't expecting a huge portion. Boy was I wrong! Easily had enough for dinner last night and lunch today. The food was hot and fresh. Called ahead and it was ready when I got there in 15 minutes. We have not dined in here, but order delivery from here frequently. It's the only really cheap Chinese food we've found in town that is also pretty good tasting! Lots of food for price. Whenever I'm really hungry I hit up Ming Wok for dinner simply because you get a ton of food! I am a big fan of the Kung Pao Chicken and am stuffed after I finish.
