Mr Sushi is a pretty prototypical Japanese restaurant in Wilmington - mediocre ingredients and a lot of sauce to mask the ingredients. Pure taste wise Mr Sushi falls quite short; the only sushi rolls that we ordered I thought were worth their price would be the Super Crunchy Roll and the Scorpion King Roll, but even those were nothing special. However, as of 3/31/2026, Mr Sushi offers some insane value - on Mondays (and another day) their speciality rolls are 50% off... kind of crazy to be selling these rolls at $8 twice a week imo. Service was average and ambience was fine, nothing much to be said there. 3.9/5 read more

Ate here on grand opening day, which was 50% off everything. But don't worry if you miss grad opening day because they have a good deal on food every day they are open. We ordered the miso soup, house lo mein noodles, house udon noodles, sashimi platter, Racine deluxe sushi roll, super duper sushi roll, and Godzilla sushi roll. Everything was okay, not stellar. Miso soup still had some flavor, but not as much seaweed as I would prefer. Usually, I would slurp up miso soup quick, but I was tired of it after a few spoonfuls. I didn't like the eel sauce on the super duper roll and I didn't like the spicy mayo on the Godzilla and Racine deluxe roll. The beef, chicken, and shrimp from the noodle dishes were tender. The flavors of the noodle dishes could have been stronger. Staff were nice. Inside was decorated nicely. A lot of people in this area will probably like the food. read more

This is one of the prettiest Japanese restaurants I've ever been. I came to get takeout so didn't really get to experience dining in but the decor definitely has a wow factor! My chirashi was a very generous portion & honestly was more like sashimi than what I've come to expect with chirashi. Quality was very good. Definitely putting this on my radar when I'm back in the area. read more

Would rate this 3.5 stars if I could. I got the spicy sushi combo, came with 3 sushi rolls, spicy tuna, spicy salmon and a spicy California roll. They were all decent but nothing too crazy, $19 for all 3 was reasonable. They do have quite a lot of options on their menu so everyone can find something they would like to eat. read more

Server was a female with brownish curly hair. Service was horrible she didn't check on us once. She double charged me and my date for our meals and when we told her she just said she got it mixed up and didn't change the cost. She clearly lacked serving skills and forgot majority of our order. Service was also very slow. Would not recommend. read more

I had such a great experience at Mr. Sushi, and I have to give a special shoutout to Jackie! She is truly an amazing server. Jackie is super attentive to her tables and makes sure everything is perfect without ever being overbearing. She's also incredibly kind and welcoming--she even remembers my name, which makes the experience feel so personal every time I come in. Love you queen read more

We've been here a couple of times and the food did not disappoint. I've tried a couple of different rolls and have enjoyed every one. The only flaw I can find is the beer selection. With all the local breweries, a partnership with one or more would be a nice touch. The restaurant and restrooms are clean and the service is friendly. read more

Dumb a$$ kids they have working there gave our pickup order away to the wrong people and told us to contact the MealKeyway company they process orders through. Order was for pick up and they gave it to a delivery driver because it's "like door dash". Pretty damn hard to deliver something without an address SINCE ITS LABELED FOR PICKUP. Teach your dumba$$ employees how to read. read more

Overall, this is a really nice spot--clean, well-decorated, and the food was great. The only downside was the service and some confusion around the menu specials. We went on a night when sushi was buy-one-get-one free, so I ordered two different rolls assuming the second would be free. Unfortunately, it wasn't explained on the menu (and not mentioned by our server) that the free roll has to be the same as the first. We ended up with way more food than we needed, especially since we had already ordered entrées. On top of that, the service was lacking--our server wasn't very attentive, and it was hard to track him down for drink refills. read more

Went here so much in high school. It was actually the first place I tried sushi. My whole family loves it. My little bro just had his birthday dinner here. The prices are very reasonable and affordable. The service is fast. The food is great! I think the bento box's are my favorite thing. The Teriyaki Chicken is my go to. It comes with soup, salad, 4pc California roll, and white rice which you can sub for fried. The dinner bento adds gyoza and edamame. They are normally pretty empty inside. They let you choose where you want to sit. It's cozy and calm. Give them a try! read more

Worst ramen soup ever! I know a good ramen soup having lived in Asia and other places that serves authentic ramen. Not here. Hell, I can make a good noodle soup similar to ramen and it's much better than what's served at this place. I asked for the Tonkatsu broth with chicken, as they didn't have Chashu on the menu. I was very surprised by that. It was more of a vegetable broth. The chicken was not real chicken but that processed meat that's pressed together. What a horrible texture. The noodles and broth reminded of the cup-o-soup, although not on the salty side. I really think this place just made a crappy soup to cut corners. The half soft boiled egg was the only winner in this soup. The California roll that I started with was good but no Tobiko! But the avocado was nicely ripe and creamy. Got the bill and didn't get the exact change that I was supposed to get. I let it fly, as I just wanted to get out of there. Not a fan of this place. Will look elsewhere. PS: I received a 10% discount when I did a Yelp check-in; however, knowing how businesses are struggling these days, I didn't have the waiter apply the discount. read more

I am fuming at how F'd up this restaurant is. Firstly, their phone does not work. So I went to the restaurant and place an order to go. Got home, half the order is missing. Phone doesn't work, no email, no way to contact them. I am not going to drive an 30 minutes each way in rush hour traffic to complain and get the food I paid for. So freaking mad. I will never go back to this restaurant that I have frequented many time. YOU GUYS SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Hubby was craving ramen I thought I wanted sushi so I figured this was good place for both options. You wouldn't realize size by the outside because it's in a shopping center but it was a good size place. It even had an outside area with hanging lights. I bet it would be great on spring night but we went indoors because it was cool tonight. You walk in and there's a good size fish tank with huge fish! I love looking at them. It wasn't busy but we came In Around 7 ish. Our server was so sweet and attentive. I was overwhelmed with the choices on the menu because it all sounded amazing plus I was hungry lol. I teetered between sushi and a teriyaki dish but went with steak teriyaki because I always get sushi. The plate came with soup and salad so I chose ginger dressing on salad and miso soup.. both were delish! Now for the entree.. it was a huge plate of food.. very nice in presentation and tasted amazing!! I was very happy with my choice and I'd even do it again! The meat was so tender it could have melted in your mouth..I asked for medium rare and it was perfect! We will definitely be back and highly recommend this establishment read more

We stopped here after leaving the beach before the dinner rush. The staff was super attentive and friendly and the sushi was delicious. The rolls are kind of on the smaller side and they don't offer BOGO but honestly their prices are very reasonable. I had the Panther roll and the Firecracker roll. The Panther was amazing. They would have got 5 stars but the rolls were small and they served them in a takeout plastic container bottom and that was odd. Definitely recommend this place and will be back. They have a cool fish tank and while there I observed a wait staff member feeding them but you could tell she really cared about them. It was sweet. read more

This is more of a Japanese restaurant that a sushi restaurant- although the sushi is plentiful and looks delicious we went to try the ramen and the poke. We had a tuna poke bowl, not spicy but with spicy sauce on the side and man oh man was it good! It was an authentic poke bowl just like we get in Hawaii. The fish and vegetables tasted fresh and the presentation was pretty. We also tried a ramen bowl. I've been desperate to find a ramen house in Wilmington and my search finally yielded This place. I was not disappointed. I had a pork broth ramen (hold the mushrooms) with ramen noodles. The growth was thick, flavorful and creamy and the fillings were generous. Service was a bit slow but it was an odd time of day when we stopped in and the server was kind and polite enough. My only complaint was I found it a bit pricey. 2 ramens, a poke bowl and a noodle plate with 1 hot tea ran more than $80. Sushi joints are always on the pricey side but I thought the soups should be a little less. read more

Due to COVID we had to do takeout which is fine. I got the super crunch roll which was okay. Unfortunately by the time we ate our food it was no longer crunchy and seemed like it had too much cream cheese in it. My fiancé got the chicken hibachi which he didn't like that much. The chicken was very dry with not enough sauce. The noodles were flavorless. read more

Lunch is consistently good with food and service. Dinner..not so much in our experience. Service was great tonight. Food was not very good. Our rice was mushy and had a burnt flavor that was very off putting. The steak tasted old but was cooked to right temp. My food was cold/tepid at best. Husbands was warm. My veggies were good. Noodles were fine. I think we will keep to lunchtime. read more

Delicious! Ordered online for pick up. Their online ordering system is very easy to use. I love how clear the menu is. The order was ready on time for pick up. You can either pay cash or credit in the restaurant. It doesn't allow you to pay online. We ordered: cucumber and avocado roll, spicy crab roll, sweet potato roll, veggie roll, and sunshine roll. I love that the rice to "filling" ratio is spot on! Usually sushi places load their rolls with rice, making it hard to taste the flavors of anything else. We will definitely be back again. Would love to try the miso soup next time! read more

I have been here a number of times and always has a nice experience. I understand how things have changes with TheCovid virus, and our two two dinners where like Chinese takeout. Everything was in STYROFOAM containers with plastic utensils. It was horrible and the food with just over cooked. I think I will hold off going there again until the virus is over. This place is great if you want a casual outside sushi bite and they have more than sushi on the menu. We were quickly seated, choosing an outdoor area. I like sparkling water and the waiter said they did not have any. I asked for still bottled water and they did not have it either. I prefer this for safety now and they only offered fountain drinks. I have tried two special rolls and they were good. I prefer bolder combo of sweet and spicy so I felt the flavors were not to my liking. If you prefer milder taste, then you will like it. I would give them a 3.5 on a scale of 5 (5 being the roll you remember and want to order again). Service was fast. I recommend this place if you are looking for a good casual stop. Another plus is outdoor seating. read more
