Double Dragon is by far my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. They are a Mandarin/Szechwan cuisine restaurant for those that know. My go-tos are the salt and pepper porkchops which are boneless and seasoned to perfection every time, and the tomato beef for a perfectly balanced entree. The Hot and Sour soup is incredible and so is the corn chicken soup that I order anytime I'm feeling the slightest under the weather. My spouse and I love going for their lunch specials, especially in the spring and fall when the weather is nice since it makes a great to-go meal to picnic with. The Lunch specials come with a cup of soup, rice (white or egg fried) and a fried wonton. We've tried a dozen other items on the menu and none of them disappointed but we always go back to our main two. read more

My family and I have eaten here ever since we moved to the Antioch area almost 20 years ago. Out of everywhere I've ever eaten in my life, Double Dragon has been the model of quality consistency and excellence. As we became regulars here over the years, the staff and owners treated me and my loved ones as family, inquiring as to how we were doing and how work and school was going. On top of that, our food has always been top notch. The prices might be a little high compared to what one may expect from a Chinese restaurant but this place has always been worth every single penny. Not once in almost two decades of dining here have they ever skimped on portions or exchanged quantity for quality. For me to have eaten here for so many years and to still have high praise for them after all this time should speak volumes as to how great they've always been. They are operating on takeout (I'm not sure about delivery since I never do that) during the pandemic so I highly encourage people that happen to be in the Antioch/Pittsburg area to come give these good folks your business. Hands down the best Chinese food in Antioch! Here are my go to items: - beef chow fun - honey walnut shrimp - salt and pepper pork chops - Peking style pork chops - Mongolian beef All of their food is really good and they come out super fast piping hot. Service is always great, they are prompt and attentive. There is a 15% service fee when you dine in, but that's how a lot of places are these days and it's well worth it with the food you get. So good... all of it. No matter what I order it's always 15-20 minutes. Chicken beef shrimp, can't go wrong. It's a good place to larger groups. This place was not only over price, also charged you service charge on the check and then plus recommended tip on a final based on total amount. So or actually paying 35-40% tip... a lot of customers overlooking and missing the service charge and adding g more tip base the check amount not just the food alone. Exploring Chinese restaurants in the area and found this place. Ordered the following food to go -Wonton soup was really good the broth was perfectly flavored for me not to salty and I liked how there's egg in it however the wonton itself was a bit doughy. The walnut prawns and mapo tofu was average tasted good. The star for me was the salt and pepper fish was perfectly battered, crunchy and soft and seasoned well. read more

The inside is very nice and looks pretty fancy. We got chicken chow mein, it was better than a few other chow mein we've had around here. A little more oily but it does taste pretty authentic. Maybe could give a bit more noodles but they weren't cheap on their chicken which is good. read more

How do I begin... Double Dragon is my most favorite restaurant of all time. This place is so much a part of me. For the last 16 years, its been my constant go to. Double Dragon may be the reason why I haven't moved out of the Bay Area. It's what I order out for every family gathering, special events, movie nights, date nights, and nearly every week that has a Thursday in it. They know us by name, they've seen my kids grow from a seed to a tree, and I genuinely think of them as family. Their food is that good. If I could add all my stars from YELP and give it to Double Dragon, I would, whole heartedly. I could write a book of poetry on how much I enjoyed their food. Eat it fast, eat it slow, eat it with friends, eat it on rainy days... you will never be unhappy when your stomach is full from Double Dragon. I love their salt and pepper pork chops. However I have to travel a little farther than I like to purchase them. I always get my order to go do to my handicap problem. The person at the counter gets upset because I don't leave a tip. I think a tip should be for the service they provide while you're eating there. She never includes napkins, spoon or folks. Politely put, the food is subpar. The serving size is very large, because the meal is supposed to be shared. It's definitely enough to feed about four people. We started with the egg rolls, which were the best thing placed in front of us. They were hot, flaky and crispy, but not burnt and not oily. I loved the egg rolls. Now, on the other hand, the veggie fried rice was BURNT and I had to return it. They were nice enough to send me a new plate of rice and it wasn't a big hassle. The new batch wasn't burnt, but it was very underwhelming. I ate it because I was hungry, but it definitely not worth the price. Everything is sold a la carte, with the exception of a family meal combo that is sold at a discounted rate. There's a dollar up charge for everything that you substitute. I didn't want to order that way, so I ordered egg rolls, chicken and rice, and someone else other chow mein and chicken. It made the meal very expensive, which felt even worse since we didn't have $55 worth of good tasting food. The kung pao chicken was so subpar that I didn't finish it, no one else wanted to eat it, and we didn't take the leftovers home. The bell peppers were not chopped enough, and it had no spice to it at all. They just topped it with a lot of peanuts, and that's honestly what I enjoyed most about the dish. The presentation was also lackluster. The restaurant is slightly cute. They have pink napkins that are nicely folded and standing in the plate. I went the day after Christmas, and they had little Christmas tree up. Service was nice. They kept the tea and water filled at all times. This was a fun place that was recommended by family and I was super excited because they had lamb on the menu (on line) - the menu posted on the table showed less lamb dishes but luckily the website had a ton more that we were able to order from. You must show your vaccination card to dine inside the restaurant which is great because it adds a level of feeling secure to those that might be as comfortable dining out still. We ordered the fried shrimp appetizer (3/5), the double cooked lamb (5/5), the Mongolian lamb (5/5), the egg flower soup (4/5) and finally some hot tea. The flavors on the lamb dishes were great and better then I had expected. The meat was tender, not gamey at all and well sauced. The appetizer was a bit of a busy as it was heavily breaded and all I could taste was the breading and not much of the shrimp. It was well fried and had the accompanying sauce which made it better. The soup was your standard egg flower soup and the veggies had a nice texture. The restaurant does charge a 15% service fee automatically due to the current environment. The service was good - plates were removed as they were empty, cups were refilled as needed and the servers checked in on us throughout the meal. read more

I have ordered to go for dinner before and it was delicious. However this time I went in for lunch and took my parents and was sadly disappointed. The waited never informed us of what type of fried rice you get with lunch. Since it's usually the common same fried rice everywhere you go. It was just white rice with egg (could have cooked that at home) it tasted like it was stale rice and wasn't good. The meat wasn't great either. We all just ate what we could and won't go back there. Today was my family's 5th time ordering from double dragon. 1st time was great! However, every time since the "double" has been declining as the portions and quality of food was "draggin". The salt and pepper fish was all batter and very little, to no fish inside. You spend $70, and you're given 1, maybe 2 hot sauces (only if you ask), with 3 very thin napkins for a family of 5..... Double Dragon is a good place to get decent Chinese food. They are a little on the more expensive side compared to others, but their food is generally better. My favorites are the "sweet and sour" (chicken or pork). They are lightly breaded and the meat is usually very soft. You can order it with "no veggies" and you usually get a little more meat. The pan fried noodles Hong Kong style is very good. There are portions of the noodles that Is crunchy so it has good texture. The sauce and seasoning is just right and the veggies are cooked well. I have found they don't use a lot of vegetables like other local restaurants. The salt and pepper pork chops is ok. I would say, it is more in the average tasting side. It is well seasoned and cooked well but if seems to have l a lot of fat. The deep fried fish is one of my favorites. It's fresh, seasoned well and a good sized fish. There's plenty of parking and a decent sized dining room. Definitely recommend this place. read more

I have been going to this restaurant for many years pre-Covid and then once Covid was over my wife and I began our lunch dates there again. We always enjoyed the food. We always enjoyed going there until today August 16, 2023. My wife got off from work a little late so we got to the restaurant about 2:25. We were seated, viral menus and asked if we would like anything to drink. We gave our drink orders and even have a chance to open the menu when the waitress goes "are you ready to order?" my wife said she needed a couple more minutes and the waitress in return said " you need to hurry up we close at three." Maybe if we were told when we were seated that they were closing at three we would not have even sat down. Needless to say, we felt like we were not very welcome at that point, and decided not to eat and we probably will never freak with the establishment again so if you wanna eat here, make sure you do it way before three if not, you will be treated like trash. read more

My wife has been coming to this place since forever before she knew me. She and her Grandma and Grandpa would come here and eat. Fast forward to now throughout the 12 years that we've been together and married we have always got this food to go for holidays get togethers birthdays I always thought it was pretty good but not great but definitely pretty good until I went here in person for the first time. I immediately fell in love with the food the freshness of it the crispy not soggy skin of the chicken the taste was on point. I am so happy now that I live in the area that we can go here and have a great Chinese food dinner because coming from Sacramento, Chinese food to me was not good out there unless you went to Frank fats in downtown Sacramento although I do miss his onion covered sirloin! read more
