This place was a bit of a disappointment. True about customer service, not the friendliest place on the block but not rude either. Just sort of "what can I get you? $35" then hands over the receipt. That's about it. The burger was good, but mostly for the fresh toppings and the decent bun. I got the Cali burger and onion rings. I usually LOVE onion rings but I couldn't eat more than a few. They weren't the worst but far from the best. Not to mention I had to pay an extra $4 to get sub for onion rings. Like I said, burger was good, but the patty was basic af. I could've made that at home or gone to Mcds. Def pre-frozen. All in all, the fries were good, onion rings bad, and burger was ok but not what you'd expect from a burger joint and for that price point. I didn't hate the food, but I for sure won't be back. read more

Well I used to like this place, but not so much now after getting my California burger, the avocado on it was a big chunk of greyish-brown. French fries were good, sweet potato fries were flavorless. Hamburger bun not toasted and soggy after a 10 min walk home. read more

Man, I have been waiting to find a burger like this on this side of town! I just have not been satisfied with any place where I can just go in a get my burger fix on. Jonesing for a burger today, I took another pass on Yelp and found out about this place. Double Decker haven't even removed the Bakery sign above their awning yet, but the interior looks modern and slick. A table with some construction workers were the only customers there on Tuesday for lunch when I arrived. I ordered the classic burger and asked them to add grilled onions and barbecue sauce. The clerk noted that fries come with. I paid with ApplePay (bling!) and added a modest tip. I had a seat. Shortly, my burger and fries arrived. The fires were good! Good crunch and hot. Nice taste. The burger was terrific! Just the right amount of pinkness to a well proportioned patty, tang from the barbecue sauce, crunch from the lettuce and pickles... mmm, I love a burger with pickles! I have to say I was quite pleased and I will come back for more! I wish they had the supplies to make a milkshake! I felt like one after my burger. read more

So so burger place with 0 customer service skills sad to see a place like this in one of the og sf neighborhoods. Asked for mayonnaise got a rude response of not having it with a bitter face. I definitely won't be patronizing this place. read more

This place makes real burgers! The size, fresh ingredients and some of the best beef I've tasted... and perfectly cooked! I order delivery and they get here fast, hot and fresh. One warning- their special sauce is a delicious combination that includes a healthy amount of garlic. It is so delicious but be sure you have breath mints lol. Their garlic fries are also amazing with tons of fresh garlic. I'll be eating here often! read more

Accidentally found this spot I was so hungry and now it's one of my favorite places. It's always great place to meet with friends and family for classic American food. Great location, cosy restaurant. It's perfect both for dine in and take out. Great burgers, reminded me Shake Shack but tastier. I usually order juice burg, French fries and salad on the side. Big serving size of dishes, a lot of veggies. Employees are nice, service is good. Wide selection of food and drinks. If you are looking for a good place with classic American food with affordable prices it's a great choice. Highly recommen. read more

Really delicious wings best served hot or medium with Blue Cheese, the burger is really big and juicy but has an odd garlic flavor, while the onion rings and tater tots are very on point. read more

Well. I felt a disservice was done to the Neiman Ranch beef cos this burger (the double decker) tasted like nothing. It was super bland and the greasiest burger I have ever eaten. ((Did they deep fry the patties?)) What I do know is they were stingey with the napkins (you can't get your own) - the amount of grease was greater than the 2 napkins I was given. There was nothing about the restaurant that makes me want to go back again. read more

They serve the impossible burger as a substitute for any of their burgers! The spot looks new and is very clean read more

The food has gone bad. Used to be my favorite burger place but now everything taste different! I order the Hawaiian and the salt & pepper wings. The beef patty was dry and the wings were tasteless. There are a lot of burger places in SF, I'd say you can just skip this one. read more

So I ordered a half dozen chicken wings but with ALL the sauces. I think there was a communication barrier because I repeated myself multiple times while I was ordering and it sounded like she understood but my order was wrong. I only got one buffalo sauce with Blue Cheese and the sauce was on the side for some reason instead of having ALL the sauces on the side. read more

This is a no frills burger place, don't know what people expect, this isn't like a fancy burger place and the customer service matches any fast casual place on the street. I order my food and they bring it out to me really fast. The quality of food is strong, a tasty burgers, good fries and tater tots. read more

I come to the Mission District in SF several times a year. This area has plenty of Hispanic/Mexican restaurants which are mostly good. That being said, I just wanted a good, classic American burger. Always walked by Double Decker and thought I would give it a try since it's new. Went during lunch time which had a special where the drink was free. I love "Mexican" Coke so that did it for me LOL. Double Decker exceeded my expectations and it hit the spot! I ordered the Double Decker Burger and it was made to order, hot, delicious, and full of that meat and cheese combo that I was looking for. The place is new so it's very clean and modern. The staff was friendly and the food came out quickly. They also sell chicken wings, milkshakes, and ice cream. Yes, yes, and yes! If you are vegan or want to be a bit more healthier, they also offer salads which seem good. Maybe next time! With so few popular fast food burger places in this area, this will be on my list of great burger places to eat and definitely come again. Great job Double Decker! read more

Very good burger spot! I usually go for the California burger and they are quite generous with the avocado serving. Moist patty in a soft bun with fresh ingredients. I prefer the tots over fries here. Potato salad over the mac salad. read more

This is my second visit and I do have to that it's YUMMY. Burgers come with fries, but I couldn't resist trying the onions rings which were the BOMB. I've been going to the Double Decker on Grove St for years, and was thrilled/surprised to see this one pop up around the corner from my house. The nearest good burger place is many blocks away so this is a super welcome addition to the neighborhood! DD is family-run and their meat is high quality and worth the price tag. All their ingredients are really good. My favorite is the Western Burger. They also have really good milkshakes and the BEST garlic fries I've ever had. This location does not yet serve beer but I think they're working on that. The interior is nice, reasonably comfortable seats and not too brightly lit. read more

I'm confused why people are complaining about service at a no-frills counter service burger joint. Since the entire staff appears to be Asian, I'm wondering if there is some kind of cultural bias at play? Matter-of-fact food service is pretty standard in most Asian cultures, and the idea that you would rate a place poorly because the interaction is limited to "what would you like to order" seems like a very strange thing to nitpick. What kind of service are you expecting when ordering and paying for a burger? Anyway, I digress. I live a few blocks away, and ever since I discovered their California burger (avocado, mushrooms, Swiss) and garlic fries (extremely good and garlicky!), I have started ordering it every couple weeks. Filling, delicious, not too heavy, hits the spot again and again. I think I like this place's burgers more than Top Round next door. read more

The cheeseburgers are so delicious and affordable. The costumer service is also great, I will definitively keep coming back.

Super fast delivery and hot! Great burger, great wings. Only disappointment was really undercooked and soggy fries.

The burgers are great but omg, what is wrong with you guys? i bet you nobody That I know, likes the chicken wings "raw". Like seriously, it does not take a genius to know when the wings are cooked properly. Other reviews had complained about the girl's attitude and they are right. The girl doesn't have the right attitude towards the customers. Like she doesn't care as long as she makes a sale. She doesn't get involved with the customer. The first time I went there I actually thought she was gonna slap me for asking for extra onion. Not really but you get the idea. I can tolerate the girl because the burgers are good, but after the raw chicken wings incident, I always will  associate that place with raw chicken wings, so I will never come back again. read more

Let me start by saying the first time I ate here was great, pricey but the food was good! For lunch I had the impossible burger with fries and shake for approximately $25! But hey it's the city Today was disappointing! I am 8.5 months pregnant and I ordered the California burger with fries. My burger was undercooked. When I asked if my patty could be cooked longer which I know from working in restaurants in years that you can not take patrons food back into the kitchen but I at least expected to be offered just another patty not a whole burger. Undercooked meat should not be served to a pregnant woman. Needless to say there was no solution as staff told me I was supposed to tell her how I wanted my burger cooked. On the menu there was no disclaimer stating how patties are cooked and when she took my order she did not ask me. I only ate my fries and left as a dissatisfied customer. I almost wanted to ask for my tip back but pettiness gets you nowhere! read more

I love the wings here!!! And I would've never imagined a place like this in the mission would have such tasty wings. I've seen a lot of negative reviews about the service but I mean what more service do you really want or need? Staff here aren't so talkative but are more than happy to accommodate people needs. read more

I have been here 3 times now. Really nice place, clean, cool, calm , and modern inside.. customer service could DEFINITELY use a little help though. The wings are literally better than buffalo wild wings(my old favorite). The wait time is kinda crazy considering its not a sit and order restaurant... but the food is bomb for sure! The front doors are open and provide a nice breeze... and come with many flies in the restaurant read more

Really good burgers and fries but the cashier could've been a bit more friendly. I asked politely if they can please cut my burger in half and she roughly said I'll give you a knife. Food is great! I like the buffalo wings, salads, and chicken sandwiches. The atmosphere is meh, with a combination of white and warm lights, sometimes there are slot machine like noises that go off for minutes on end (I have no idea what it is). Friendly staff. read more

The burgers are fantastic - the way they cook it means the fat from the patty soaks into the bun, which makes it really tasty and easy to eat. Burgers that cost twice as much don't taste this good. The fries are delicious too, with a great, tasty, textured coating that goes way beyond your average fast food fry. The price is unbeatable... $12 for a Western Burger with fries or $14 for a normal. I would gladly pay more, especially if it would help a great restaurant stay in business! read more

I don't think the burgers were horrible and I def think they get the one star as opposed to none. Mostly it's because I wasn't blown away by this place. I was hoping to get a BUGER burger for my money. It's right on 24th, next to classics like El Faralito and top round which was my intended stop before I decided to give them a try. I think for a new business, the gentleman in the front should have much more of a personality to draw people in, and offer suggestions or a smile even? This place is good, but I can get "good" at mcds. read more

I want to say I loved everything, but honestly I only dug the burger. I got the BBQ burger with fries and a chocolate shake. The shake and fries were okay. The chocolate was very bitter tasting and the fries weren't super. The star was the burger. Not too much in terms of BBQ sauce, which was great! I hate when it's overflowing with it. The bacon was not small either. I would go back for just a burger, but for the price (18 all together) I rather try something else. read more
