I've lived in the South Bay area all my life and I just discovered Doty's Tacos. Where have you been all this time?! I love good street tacos. And I was pleasantly surprised that this place ever existed in the South Bay area. For some reason, I always thought good street tacos only existed in the hearts of LA (like DTLA area) so I would typically drive all the way down to the DTLA area to fulfill my street tacos craving. But recently, my friend and I were both craving street tacos and he didn't want to go all the way to DTLA. Instead, we opted to go to his usual tacos spot in South Bay, which happened to be Doty's Tacos. Doty's Tacos truck sat right in front of Dat Moi Supermarket during the night time. There was plenty of street parking in addition to the parking lot right next to the supermarket. When I came on around 8 PM, there were already people in line for street tacos and I was amazed how many people showed up to this particular tacos stand. My friend arrived soon afterward and we both opted to get beef lengua tacos (my friend recommended them to me because I also enjoy eating beef tongue). The total cost for 3 lengua tacos was $7. Not too bad of a price! Also, Doty's Tacos accepts both cash and card! I added my usual condiments/toppings on top of my tacos and man, they were so delicious! My usual taco spot doesn't offer lengua tacos so I was surprised to see lengua tacos as a food option. The lengua tacos definitely had flavor and were juicy as well. I definitely would come back for some more especially the other types of tacos if I could. For the price I paid for tacos, I didn't not complain because they were pretty delicious. Beware of this Taco stand if you are paying with your card. They will tell you one price then charge you 6+ dollars more. The woman that takes orders has horrible customer service. When questioned on the overcharge she claimed it was from tax which she never mentioned even after I asked for the full price info before paying. Others heard and stated they have been robbed this way before and they always give a different explanation for the difference in the overcharge. read more

1. They have permits! And their health permit is level 'A' as in it's clean! Most definitely recommending to others now that I feel comfortable going there. 2. Son'of a gun! I'm being super duper quadruple nice by giving 2 stars. Was rolling by looking for some tacos and found this truck during the day. After I paid, I saw the rusty looking lemons that might have been in the sun a bit too long. Couldn't even make some margaritas with these lemons The burrito was disappointing, soggy, fell apart and these beautiful hands were smothered with grease beyond the natural grease you use for a burrito. The chicken tasted very different. I couldn't capture the flavor but it was tasteless. Sorry but I'll be damned, the left overs were a sea of oil. Tacos are great plus very affordable served with great portions. Our family usually orders tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. They have multiple topping options salsas, cucumbers in Chile verde, habanero, and cactus salad. The men that work there are nice and friendly. My favorite taco truck near our area. read more

It was okay. Not what I expected. Felt like the price can be better for the tacos being so average with not much flavor at all honestly.

This is hands down my new favorite taco truck! Tacos are $1 each, but it's $2 for carnitas. The down side is that they don't post the price for anything on their menu. The horchata is $3 and is the best horchata I ever had (it has the right amount of cinnamon and does not taste too water downed). I definitely want to try more things on their menu, like their mulitas and vampiros. There might be a long wait to order, but you get your food pretty fast once you're done ordering. read more

I LOOOOOVE Doty's!! Same order, every time, all the time! Lengua tacos are perfection. Honestly you can't go wrong with anything on their menu but definitely do try their horchata too! It's cheap, fast, and easy. The line can be long but it moves fairly quickly. There's very little parking around, you can park on the street or in the back lot of the Dat Moi supermarket. There's a topping bar on the outside of the truck with sauces, radishes, limes, salsa, etc. They have condiment cups out, but ask for ziplocs from the cashier if you want to take any addons home. They have some tables set up if you choose to eat on site. read more

I love this place. I am here way too often. If they didn't have so many customers, they would probably know my order by now. The only thing I was suggest is that they soak their cucumbers in the delicious spicy juice before putting it out for people to grab. Sometimes they have recently refilled the tub and the cucumbers just taste like... Cucumbers. When they are supposed to taste spicy. Since they soak for a while, they take up the juice sauce. Carne asada is the way to go. $1 extra for all protein burrito. read more

Nothing wrong with their other meats, but have had better al pastor and tastier asada on Crenshaw, past 147th. Sus otras carnes están bien, pero hemos comido pastor más sabroso y asada mejor marinada en un lugar sobre Crenshaw, pasando la 147th. Doty's have a great array of free toppings some of which are: spicy cucumber slices, radish slices (ready for lime & salt !), spicy onion "slaw" and lime wedges, aside from the traditional chopped onion/cilantro. They can get very busy, so I suggest before you order, check out how many baggies you're going to need first , so you can ask for your baggies when you order food. The young women taking the orders are friendly, but can get overwhelmed. If you see an empty salsa container, and you feel like it, just hand it to either order or pickup window, so they can re-supply. Overall, a nice experience, even if it gets crowded! Pretty frustrated with my experience tonight. We pulled up and immediately saw a crowded inside of the food truck itself, with a person inside not wearing a mask, and due to the current situation, that's a huge turn off. Because there was no line, we decided to order anyway since the truck we usually get food from was just packing up. Being a vegetarian, i am always cautious to ask about meat or lard in the beans when i order from these types of places, but i have been assured 2 seperate times that they dont cook their beans with either. Not only did we find meat in my and my bfs bean and cheese burritos, there were chunks of fatty gristle in my cheese quesadilla too. I understand that in close quarters there is always a possiblity of cross contamination, but this was FAR too many pieces for that. There food is probably great if you are a meat eater, but please be transparent with you guests. Not cool to tell 2 non-meat eaters that something is safe for them of it is CLEARLY not. I ended up throwing alot of food away and wasting my money. Ugh. read more

Try their vampiros. Parked along Crenshaw near a branch of the public library, it's pretty quiet if you go later at night. Their $1 tacos are pretty good, especially the asada, though I can't say they're among the best I've had. Their pastor was too chewy and had a particularly strong pork smell to it. However, their salsa and condiment selection is solid -- multiple types of onion-based toppings, plus their salsa bottles include my favorite creamy avocado kind. But what surprised me was their version of vampiros ($3). It's a piece of taco-sized tortilla, grilled with a bunch of cheese, and topped with your choice of meat. You typically see vampiros -- when you can find them -- with its tortillas toasted and crispy, like at Adobo Taco Grill in Lakewood. At Doty's Tacos, the vampiros are grilled with so much cheese that I didn't even notice there was a tortilla hidden within it. So unhealthy, so delicious. read more

I had been hearing about this food truck , and today I started to drive to King Taco (I didn't feel like driving far) , but instead I said hey let me try Dotys and I was not disappointed! The carne asada burrito was amazing and they had a homemade red sauce that was firrrre!!! The red sauce had just the right amount of heat and savor to make it compliment the carne asada in the burrito. They overcharge if you aren't paying attention. Be careful and ask for prices! Nothing on their menu has a price and I believe it's on purpose. It was late and we were craving tacos/torta's. Doty's didn't disappoint. Even at 10:00 pm we were 7 customers deep when we arrived. My husband and I ordered the al pastor and asada torta's. The little one's had a Quesadilla and asada burrito. My mother ordered the Cabeza and tripa tacos. All enjoyed their dinner. Dotys tacos used to be so delicious BUT after Covid they just don't taste the same. They don't got the flavor and seasoning they used to. Idk if they have new owners but there not the same from when they used to park infront of DatMoi . There ok but not like how they used to be. They were the first taco truck on Crenshaw and the food and service was good and they had so many customers and there popularity brought in other food trucks .
