I acquired a pool with a house I recently bought. I had no history with it, but Kyle showed up a few days after we connected and got right to work draining, scrubbing and ultimately getting my pool and opened for me within about four days! We had no idea when the pool had been last used, or what condition the pumps and parts were in. We contacted Dot's Pool Service to remove algae, clean our pool, balance the water, and get it ready for the summer season. Unfortunately, our experience did not meet our expectations. The technician was at our home for less than 30 minutes. He vacuumed the pool briefly, treated the water, and then informed us that his pool vacuum had stopped working. When he left, the water actually appeared greener than it had before he started. There was no effort to remain and monitor the treatment or ensure the pool was improving. When we asked whether the pool would clear up, we never received a direct answer. Afterward, we communicated through Yelp regarding the pool's progress. We were repeatedly told that we had a phosphate issue and should have the water tested. However, we hired them a professional specifically to diagnose and treat the pool, so we expected water testing and guidance to be part of the service we paid for. The technician also stated that he would return to vacuum the pool again if we were not satisfied. That follow-up was necessary because the leaves and debris on the bottom of the pool were never completely removed during the initial visit due to his equipment failure. He communicated he would be there sometime the upcoming week no definitive day and time. (Red Flag) Unfortunately, he never contacted us again to schedule that return visit, nor did he follow up to check on the pool's condition. In the end, we purchased our own chemicals and successfully eliminated the algae ourselves. We then hired another pool company to finish the job. They scrubbed the pool walls, vacuumed the entire pool, tested and balanced the water, provided us with a detailed water test report, and left us with a crystal-clear blue pool before leaving our property. They also gave us instructions for maintaining the pool ourselves or using their services in the future. That level of service is what we expected when we hired Dot's Pool Service. Our disappointment was not just with the results, but also with the lack of follow-up, communication, and accountability. We genuinely wanted to support a small business and had high hopes, but our experience was very different. Clear communication, reliability, and standing behind your work are essential in any business. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Dot's Pool Service and would encourage others to consider other options. read more

Turrible....where do I start..new pool owner here...he dumped all the leaves from cover into pool...I already told him I had a plan to remove them. He assured me it was his job to take care of it. I trusted him sent him his 50 bucks lol...and paid him like he was a legit pool company. You live and you learn. Ended up losing over 600 bucks . Honestly I can appreciate the effort and how far this gentleman drove , he was very polite and professional, however my quote changed from 200-250, he did give me a discount of 25 dollars due to him forgetting he scrub brush. The quote changes 36 hours prior to the agreed meeting day and time due to the price of gas and material. In terms of the service of cleaning my pool , all I really needed was a good vacuuming as mine was not doing the job and some skimming to get rid of some of the top water gunk that was floating around. He did tell me to run my filter for 24 hours to get rid of it but that felt kind of annoying give that I paid to have the service done of cleaning my pool to use it asap. Overall Kyle was professional but the service quality was not to my liking. He also said it was "not bad" .He was also an hour late to our agreed time but he did update me on this. Had Kyle out to clean and treat the pool. Looked like it was going well. I decided to have him return to close it it took off of work to meet him and talk to him to see who I was hiring. 3pm no show no text no phone call so I text him he said he got stuck on a job and couldn't make it he could do it the next day. I decided to delay the closing due to algae and wanted to clean it up first. He got a little angry and said if I pay for the closing in full he would clean for free well im not paying for services that are not done yet. I decided to move on and ask for my $50 deposit back and he got very defensive saying I messed with his schedule and im messing with his money meanwhile he was a no show no text no phone call just didnt show up on the date he provided. Apparently his time is valuable but his customers aren't valuable. He ha yet to refund the money and I have received no response about it. I'm sure I'll get a response from the review blaming me for canceling but like I said he was a no show no text no phone call he couldn't make it i did not cancel on him. I even said ok let's try again and come tomorrow and vacuum. He couldn't give me a quote just said an extra 50 wth does that mean. Reading other reviews I should not have gotten involved with him. Kyle keep my $50 and enjoy it ill pay more money for a more reliable company. read more

Was a bit nervous about finding a random person to open our pool given that our last person was difficult to get a hold of. Kyle is very responsive via text and got our pool opened. Kids are excited to go swimming! read more

Kyle has been taking care of my pool all summer. He is reliable and professional and does a great job. My pool cover was damaged over the winter and the bottom of the pool was filled with debris, but Kyle got it up and running for me in record time!! Awesome service and a really great guy! read more

Kyle came and removed the cover and let all the junk on it go in the pool. He couldn't get pool running because of a plumbing issue. He rolled the dirty cover with leaves and everything and stuffed it in a trash can and demanded full payment of $340. I gave him 260 and he promised to return Sunday. Then he texted me he wasn't going to finish the job. He left plugs and pool parts strewn across the yard. Do not hire! read more

I highly recommend Dot's Pool Services! We just moved into West Chester. We called a few pool cleaning companies but either they were not taking new cluents or their prices were high or they never called back when I left messages. Kyle called me back in a short time. At $100 a week, his prices were fellow the others! We scheduled for the next day. He texted me when he was nearby. He was thorough, knowledgeable and courteous. He was customer accommodating! Kyle agreed to open our pool this weekend. He texted me during the week asking to come that day. I explained that I didn't have the cover off or have it filled. He then told me he wouldn't be cleaning the pool which of course is the most difficult part of opening. I then told him that I'd like to cancel, he required a $65 deposit. I asked that he reimburse my deposit. He refused and wrote that I was "bullying" him as a small business owner. I explained that my husband is a small business owner so I would never do that but since he didn't do anything to earn this deposit, it would be respectable to return my deposit and that I DID NOT want to write a bad review.He said that he would return my deposit in a few days. Of course he didn't so I offered to have him close our pool if he would refund the deposit, again, really not wanting to hurt anyone's business. I haven't heard anything back from him.
