The mini tiffin set includes regular dosa and I didn't find animal protain on any meals. That's fine. After long day, I wanted to have something hearty well cooked meal. I felt healed with good spices. Every bite, you may find different flavour and spices. Especially I loved yellow coloured sticky rice textured dessert. Maybe rice pudding? I noticed ginger, raisin, and milky nuts flavour. So tasty and addictive. I want to try again.

It was my first time having it and the savoury flavor profile was so intriguing. The mango shake was solid and good for cutting the spice of the dishes we got. Appetizers - chicken 65 was solid, hot and crispy and I loved the three sauces that came with it. The chicken samosa was also the perfect size and had a good amount of filling while keeping the crunch. Dosas - wow, the best in town! And so filling! The butter chicken dosa shocked me in terms of size and weight. The spinach masala dosa was also huge and I loved the thin crepe filled with spiced potatoes. Star of the show for sure! Mains - the biryani was also delicious as a rice dish and very filling. It went nicely with the veggie pakora, which was packed with crunch and spice. Overall amazing meal. Manpreet was also super kind and provided excellent service. Can't wait to come back to try more dosas - the menu is very extensive!!

Definitely, the sambar and chutney need some flavor, at least salt. The positive points I have given in this review are only for the dosa. Sorry to say, but the insane amount of time you take to serve your customers needs to improve. We waited close to an hour. Not kidding. I don't think anybody would want to come back again if this is how it is. This happened three times with us. Sorry, we won't be going back here again for this sole reason.

The flavor was still rich, creamy and perfectly balanced to me! My husband ordered the same but without any ingredient restrictions. He thought his was pretty awesome as well but the star at this dinner was the naan. It arrived piping hot and with the right chewiness to it. It looked and smelt heavenly! He inquired how it was made and they told us each order is made fresh and by hand. My hubby said this naan rises above all the others he ate in India. Service was personal and very good. A tad slow at times but the family crew members had many take out orders during our stay. No worries. I'm planning a return visit already.

Kothu was generous with the chicken and very aromatic; it was spicy but I also tasted its depth. It was also rich with egg and other vegetables I could not identify. There's nothing better than hot and spicy Indian comfort food on a *cold* and rainy Vancouver day…read more My colleague - the lovely Anushka B - and I were down the street at a local coffee house plugging away at work when lunchtime tummy grumbles started to kick in. We had a handful of options within walking distance, but Cilantro Indian Cuisine stood out with their reviews and photos. We arrive just as they were opening and the aromas hit your nose as soon as you walk through the door - hunger strikes even harder, y'all. We quickly grabbed a booth, and were ready to order just about everything. Anushka opted for the chicken biryani - a heaping, tower-like serving of biryani in a bowl served with naan and yogurt. (see pics!) Note that you can order the biryani to your preferred level of spice. I loooove variety, so I ordered one of their lunch specials: the non-veg Thali, which was a choice of chicken (butter chicken, chicken curry, karahi chicken) plus choice of dal makhani or yellow dal, raita, a sweet (gulba jamen please!), salad, naan, and rice. Oh, and some dang good pickle! All that for $16.99. Their lunch special has seven varieties to choose from and is available 11:30am-4:30pm. They also have other specials - "meals for two" - that I bet could feed three or four people. The food was fantastic, as was the friendly service. As mentioned, my lunch special came with a small sweet (gulab jamun), and the server noted that he brought out an extra for my dining companion. I mean, so sweeeet.

I got their chicken biryani which comes with raita (flavoured yogurt) and really balances the meal out. The portions were so big, I had to take food to-go and had it for 2 meals after. They have a lot of drink options as well. Would recommend this place for a good Indian meal in Mt. Pleasant :)

The thing about great neighbourhood restaurants is that they don't always announce themselves. No…read moreflashing lights. No viral social media campaigns. Just a dining room filled with people who know exactly why they're there. Davie Dosa Company in Richmond is one of those places. Followers of the local food scene may remember it as Hakka Momo Corner. The recent rebrand ties it to the owners' Vancouver restaurant on Davie Street, but the heart of the operation remains the same: turning out some of the most satisfying Hakka food you'll find anywhere in the Lower Mainland. And that's saying something, because Vancouver doesn't exactly have an abundance of Hakka restaurants. The first thing that grabbed me was the Honey Chilli Chicken. This is one of those dishes that walks a tightrope and somehow never falls off. The heat comes first--sharp, immediate, insistent. Then the sweetness arrives just behind it, softening the edges without dulling the punch. The result is addictive. The same can be said for the honey chilli cauliflower, which proves once again that vegetables, when treated with a little respect and a lot of flavour, can be every bit as compelling as meat. But if there's a star here, it's the MOMOS. Too often, momos are treated as an afterthought--dense wrappers surrounding forgettable filling - but not here. The care and attention that goes into these dumplings is obvious from the moment they arrive at the table. The wrappers are remarkably thin and delicate, encasing a filling that releases an aromatic burst of broth when bitten into. In fact, they're closer in spirit to a **xiao long bao** than the momos many diners may be accustomed to. Steam transforms the filling into something rich and deeply savoury, creating a pocket of flavour. It's the kind of dish that reveals a kitchen obsessed with getting the details right. What makes Davie Dosa Company especially endearing is that it still feels like a discovery. The kind of place you stumble across and immediately start texting friends about. The kind of place you worry might become too popular if you talk about it too much. But good food deserves recognition and so does the family - husband, wife, and children all pitch in to ensure happy diners go home satisfied.. Davie Dosa has become one of my favourite Hakka restaurants in the Vancouver area--not because it's trendy or fashionable, but because it consistently delivers food made with care, technique, and a genuine understanding of flavour. Hidden gem is an overused phrase in food writing. This time, it fits. CHEERS!!!
