A-Ok in my book! Had a thali and a dosa on two separate dinning experiences. Thali was good, and I think I prefer that over the Dosa. This is a small family owned joint. For that reason, I really wanted to like it. The ambiance and service are both bad. We sat for 15 minutes before we were served water and that too after asking for it. The food came relatively quickly but it wasnt all that good. The chutneys were flavorless. The dosas and medu vada were greasy. The medu vada was raw on the inside. The food was so greasy that hours later I can smell the oil on me. We will not be going back. We really miss udipi food (especially the udipi restaurant on 161 closed), but not enough to go here again. read more

If you are looking for the most delicious South Indian food, look no further than Dosa Corner in Columbus, Ohio. As a South Indian, I can tell you that the food is very authentic and terrific tasting like I would make at home or what my mom or grandma would make. Dosa Corner provided us with "Live Dosa Station" for our pre-wedding Indian event for 100 people on May 27, 2023. The dosa buffet was complete with Idly (steamed dumplings), Sambar (lentil soup), and Coconut Chutney. A Live Dosa Station is where thin crepe-like pancakes are made to order and topped with delicious chutney or potato or other items. It was a big hit and the line was a mile long! We also had a taco bar, but the live dosa station was the hit of the party. On Sunday, May 28th, Dosa Corner made a delicious boxed lunch and delivered it to our wedding guests at various hotels. Our guests raved about the food. A million thanks to Hari, owner of Dosa Corner, for his flexibility in making our event a success on Saturday evening as well as the Sunday lunch. This is one of my new favorite Indian spots. Tucked in between upper Arlington and Columbus off Henderson and Kenny road, this small gem has some of the best vegetarian Indian food I've found. I absolutely love their sambar soup and their samosas. I ordered the mixed vegetable curry and it's been my favorite in Columbus so far. Obviously they specialize in Dosas as this is their name. I had a good meal at Dosa Corner. It was one of the best dosas. They have lots of vegetarian choices. It's not expensive because of his much food there is. This place is not much to look at, but the food is flavorful and spicy and the service was friendly. I ordered the combo platter one. It was about $10 so it wasn't that bad. There was a lot of food so it made up for the cost. It was a masala dosa with idli and vada. The dosa was humongous and was totally filling. It was much bigger than dosas in other Indian restaurants. The idli was light and fluffy, and vada was crispy and lightly spicy. It also had friendly service. They were kind of slow but everything was made fresh so that was not bad. I recommend Dosa Corner to anyone who likes Indian or cheap food. It's a good amount of food for the cost and it's really good so this is a great value for anything. The concept is very good and it is one of the few local Indian restaurants that provide hundred percent vegetarian South Indian menu if that is your schtick. The service can be a bit slow especially with a few group tables ... the service can be very slow so you need to be patient and also not have any where important or urgent to be anytime soon. The food itself is good .. the dosa is OK . I thought it could use more filling ingredients... but the dosa menu options are very wide and diverse. Overall , don't expect huge amount of food as the quantity can be a bit on the modest side but then the place is not terribly pricy anyway. If you are not a vegetarian you might not become a fan of this place... I know it has a huge following especially within the more strict Hindus as well as the vegetarian or Indians from the southern part of India. I am not vegetarian. I happened to come across Shashi's picture of Paneer Uttapam. It jumped off the page and gripped my . Needless to say, I gave in to its heavy desires and ordered that sucker. Mosharraf was an absolute delite and breathe of fresh air! My day hadn't ended so positive, but his smiling face and happy, positive demeanor was just what I needed to whisk the dismalness away. On to the Paneer dish. The paneer reminds me of a pizza: the cheese chunks, a lentil-based crust, onion, cilantro, and spices. I've had great home cooked paneer dishes via friends, so those were my measures. The cheese chunks weren't very flavorful. A bit more umppph would have helped. The cilantro and spices were on point. Dipping the lentil pancake in the coconut chutney was a good pairing. The lentil soup left a mild kick in the back of the throat- mmmmm!! I had enough left over for a second meal. Amazing onion pakora, uthappam, and dosas. Went at 5 o'clock on a Monday and it was super quiet, so the service was fast and food came out perfectly sequenced. Great flavors, spices, all vegetarian and delicious. The eggplant curry was melt-in-your-mouth. The condiments & sauces were perfect additions. Don't miss the garlic naan. A few years ago, I stopped coming here because of all the styrofoam and plastic waste, but they appear to have moved to metal plates and cups and silverware and that's AWESOME. My only complaint would be the slightly sticky plastic tablecloth over the table. It probably wipes down nice and easy (and we made a mess of it), but you can't slide your dishes around. The food is great. Everything here is vegetarian so keep that in mind. I usually get the combo type meals and I'm never disappointed. A few of the condos include either uttapam or Dosa. Here's a little bit about both... Uttapam is like a savory pancake filled with different veggies and spices. Lots of different uttapams to pick from. It's great, vegetarian, affordable, and pretty cheap. When I went here, I got the #2 Combo that has 2 small servings of vegetarian curries, among other things, and my friend got the #1 Combo, which comes with a dosa. Also had a mango lassi. The dosas (really thin pancake filled with potatoes, onions, spices) are quite big - maybe a foot long and a few inches wide. They are really tasty. The combos come with some big poofy breads (the #2 came with two of those), various chutneys, rice, a dessert, and a little fried appetizer thing. It was just the right amount of food to fill you up without making you feel like you ate too much. The mango lassi was good too. Each combo was about $10-11. If you only got a dosa by itself, it'd be about $6-8, which, considering the size, is not bad. For comparison, a lot of Indian restaurants I have been to have had entrees running at around $12-$15. Plus the Indian chai tea is very good - perfect amount of spices and milk. While it looks like a run down restaurant on the outside and is fairly cramped inside, the food is wonderful. I asked for Hot water which is my favorite, they went out of the way to give in a Jug-which was amazing. they also waived one coffee for Kannan-he likes Coffee- they waived, they did not take the money at all -not even a single cent. They have people the lady who is from Karnataka-works hard at her age. Normally Indian old age (Asian Indian)-we consider we have to take care by others..whereas this is totally different. Whereas Americans work at 80 or 90 also in Publix we had seen in Florida and California. This is amazing place. Everyone loved the food. They made Pondicherry Dosa- really outstanding. We loved it. I finally made it to Dosa after, like, 6 years of trying. They specialize in the same regional cuisine as Udipi, dosas and uttapam. Uttapam was first described to me at Udipi back in 2011 by my then girlfriend, who was Pakistani and introduced me to a lot of great places around town, as "basically Indian pizza". The restaurant is small, quaint, and tucked in a building behind a Townie strip mall bar called Traditions. There are only like four parking spaces, and if they're at all crowded, you'll have to get creative. Also take care navigating the jungle surrounding the entryway. I wish I had a thumb green enough for these big guys. Everything about the meal was delightful, except for this lady going on and on extremely loudly about her friend's penis and his prince albert. I'm not kidding. Only she wasn't using anatomically correct words to describe these things. Talk about whatever you want, but don't do it at the top of your lungs. Anyhow, middle-aged woman with no manners aside, it was an exceptional experience. The little veggie donut things, the rice cake, the dosa (the paneer masala) and the uttapam (the mixed veggie) were very flavorful and left me wanting more, despite the already large size of the meal. I will most likely re-visit this place again if I'm in the area. My sister and I decided to sneak out of the house one day, to get away from her picky eating kids and husband to go on a little mini food adventure. Food Adventure = driving or traveling long distance to try a new restaurant, or new unknown food. Mini Food Adventure = trying a new restaurant or unknown food locally. From the multiple recommendations from my sister's clients (to which are mostly of the Indian culture) we decided to try Dosa Corner. Upon looking at the menu, we wanted to try it all, and were filled with excitement while watching tables around us enjoy their over sized Dosa flooding their plates and tables. We ordered the Mirchi Bajji (chickpea battered, deep fried, stuffed hot peppers), Dani Wada (crispy deep fried lentil doughnut, swimming in a bath of creamy yogurt, and fresh herbs), and lastly the Spinach Masala Dosa (crispy crepe like wrap stuffed with spicy spinach and curry potatoes). The Mirchi Bajji was hot! Spicy hot! The batter was a sort of burnt. These were okay, but enjoyed the heat factor most. I wasn't sure what to expect with the Dani Wada, creamy, tasty, slightly sweet and tangy, and FILLING! All those lentils will fill you up. First bite throw me off, but after the 3rd, I really enjoyed it! I would order this again. To my standards of sweet, this could be a dessert. By the time the Spinach Masala Dosa came by, I was full, but couldn't stop myself from eating. We had requested that the Dosa be spicy. I do not detect any spiciness. I like my food hot! But regardless, still too tasty to stop eating. My sister and I left satisfied, full, and a little drunk feeling from over eating. Negatives: Disposable styrofoam plates and plastic ware for dine in are not ideal. I in general do not like styrofoam. To have warm foods on top of styrofoam, as the styrofoam contains harmful chemicals, is bad for the food, and human consumption. We also, had to flag down our waiter to make an order, get drinks, and receive our bill. Not a huge problem, so can be annoying. Dosa not spicy enough to my standards. read more
