Visiting Columbus and was craving Indian Food so we stopped at Layla's. We loved the warm welcome…read moreand quick service. The place is beautiful inside with lots of florals and the comforting smell of delicious food. We ordered the chicken samosa (2 pieces) and they were delicious. The chutneys that comes with the samosa is the perfect addition to this appetizer. Hubby ordered the mango lassi and it was so refreshing! We got the chicken makhani (butter chicken), chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, and buttered naan. Both entrees came with a nice portion of basmati rice. Everything was super flavorful! You're also able to choose your own spice level for your dish. The owner was such a doll. She was very sweet and made sure we loved our food. She wrapped up my food to go for me and gave us a free dessert to try (Gulab Jamun). The hospitality was amazing and we will be coming back when we visit Ohio again!

There are some great looking savory pastries, and there is ice cream. The desserts all looked amazing. I took a slice of Pistachio cake home. I would like to come back for more. There was a cute cotton candy machine, which I've never heard of. It didn't appear to be working.

I had an underwhelming experience here. None of the baked goods are labeled and when I asked for…read morethe chicken puff and goat puff, the two people at the counter had no idea which ones were which and had to ask another person. For anyone with allergies/restrictions, this is very concerning. Again, I asked one of them what the plum cake was made out of (because I never had one before) and not a single person was able to tell me. I thought that was very odd. The staff requires training in knowing the products being sold and the baked foods need proper labeling, as it will make it easier for the customers to order instead of going around asking what each is. I did receive an answer that the meat used is halal; however, I did question it as even the staff had to ask another person in the back for the answer to this as well. The gulab jamun cake I was excited about, but did not find it to be that great. Overall, I found the place overpriced. The goat puffs are $5 each and the chicken $4 each. The goat ones I found too greasy and had a goat smell to them still. I don't see myself returning with so many other Asian bakeries around.

Bottled waters were on the table but costed extra, so we opted to buy cold drinks from the grocery store. The guava drink was very sweet but refreshing nonetheless. I'm a big fan of Indochinese cuisine, so the Szechuan noodles caught my eye. I got a paneer version and even though I got it medium spice level, it had me sweating! I liked how it came with lots of chopped lettuce and onions for crunch and the paneer was cut into thin slices so it soaked up the spices well. If you love a good rice dish, biryani is the way to go. The masakali goat biryani with the hot spice level definitely had lots of heat to it. The meat and spices are kinda buried inside so make sure to mix it well before digging in. The gongura chicken biryani also looked very good so you can't really go wrong with these. Next time, I wanna try the dosa! A table next to us ordered some and they took up half the table The portions were large so you will definitely leave full or with leftovers! Once you are done eating, you pay at the counter before you leave. Service was pretty slow and it was very hot inside the restaurant because they had two fans but one of them was very weak. I might opt for takeout next time just to save time and for added comfort, but I was very satisfied with how the food was.

Also tried these chicken puff pastry things that were awesome. A cross between a puff pastry dough and a Jamaican patty, I was really surprised how much I liked it. I got the carrot dessert that had raisins and cashews from the refrigerated case. It didn't look like there was a lot there but it's so rich, it actually lasted me for leftovers. Excellent service, very attentive. Nothing fancy but just a good experience. Hit the Mark.

The naan & samosas were tasty, but our main events were flops and it the price of $12+ each, that's unacceptable to me. The Paneer Butter Masala has potential but it had a small cheese portion & no heat. The Chicken Saag had a little bit of spicyness but it's spinach texture was more pasty than creamy. We ordered these both Medium-Hot spice level on the Grub Hub app and that's not what we received. (This could be a technical issue using a third-party ordering tool--but having no spiced entrees was a real deal breaker for any future orders with Godavari.)

Give just 3 kofta in a $14 dish!!! (Malai kofta) 3. Our Table was broken. 4. Waiter did not know the difference in dishes which led us to choose the wrong dish. 5. Not surprised it was not busy at all on a Saturday night!!! The Malai Kofta hai koftas just to show something in the dish and it was not at all as rich as the dish "Malai Kofta" should be!!!! Godavari folks come on if u cant give whats promised don't ruin people experiences by presenting under-par dishes. You call yourself truly south indian!!! Let me tell you I am a west Indian but I have had way better dosa on a roadside stall than the Mysore masala dosa you'll served. Please go back to basics and learn how a Sambhar is made!!! The sambhar was a lazy attempt to boil a lentil with veggies without the tang and the spice in it. Finally discard or repair your furniture before someone gets hurt!!! I am giving you two stars as just the dosa without masala was good, if you'll take the laziness and cheap attempt to serve food out you'll can be better. Hope you'll improve!
