I had the vegan sampler, which came with four different tacos (nopales, al pastor, chorizo, & chick'n) and both cooked & pickled onions, which I highly recommend getting if you're not sure what you'd like. I liked all of them, but I especially loved the al pastor (sweet & savory), chick'n, and nopales (very sour) tacos. They use Moocho for their vegan cheese, which was good but the tacos were really good even on their own. (Though I do think it really complemented the sour nopales.) It was so good I went back and ordered a bowl (half al pastor, half chick'n) to go since they're not very close. It had just the right amount of salt, wasn't too greasy, tasted very fresh, and left me really full (in a good way.) None of the options are spicy at all, not even the chorizo, if that matters to you either way. They do have hot sauce if you want it though ofc. The owner is super friendly and doesn't eat meat himself, so feel free to ask him about what you should get & etc. read more

We took our vegan preference daughter and my recently dental surgery having wife for lunch. Omar took our order, since this was our second time, but first time for her he kindly and specifically helped her choose an array of tacos from the vegan menu. He then, with the same care, took tended to us, all succinctly with a welcoming tone and a beautiful smile. The best part as usual was when the food arrived, but the ambiance though very quaint, was very informative with great sized font of food and drink and tasty accoutrements. Needless to say very clean and tidy. Our fideo, vegan tacos, carne asada torta and quesadilla arrived hot and fresh. The vegan tacos were hit and the fideo soup was a welcomed miracle for my wife. My torta was toasty and tasty. My quesadilla was just as good. The person who was the cashier, turned out to be the owner. He was warm and helpful, especially being so empathetic with my wife and her dental surgery and with my daughter, him being a vegan and still being successful with a menu fit for either one. Sadly no music in the dining area. * Food--on this occasion I would have to give a negative review: for $41.00 the food was more than disappointing: --I asked specifically if anything was spicy or seasoned with Jalapeno or how it was prepared--was told noo nothing is spicy --well the guacamole was overwhelmed with diced fresh jalapeno and its seeds--so that was a wast of my money inedible. --the crispy tacos were soaked in what appeared to the the oily asada juice--soggy greasy and by far not crispy. --the quesabirrias well the meat was the only good part tacos were tough and over greasy from the asada oil they were fried in--the dipping sauce/broth had no flavor other than oil --queso & chips-----queso was runny and tasted like milky melted velveta cheese.....the chips the best part of the whole order crispy, not to salty and not too thin or too thick....but there was a taste of canola oil in the after taste once they were cooled to room temp. The food was not what I expected the 2nd time around. I gave this place a 2nd try and it wasn't better. I am glad to see he put the grilled onions on the side now, but I notice when bad reviews are in google and yelp, the owner takes no accountability. That is a big problem and red flag. He claims the entire community loves his food, no matter what you say. He says this to every bad review and many bad reviews have been flagged and removed. I wish Omar would take accountability when there is a complaint and stop making up excuses like he speaks for the entire Katy community. We want to support local business even when the food is mediocre. I tried again and it's a no for me. I will not write a good review based on the location of an establishment. This ain't 3 strikes and you're out. I will no longer give this place my money. 2x and I'm done. read more

I usually never write reviews. However, I felt I needed to do it. I do not understand why some people like this place. The food is literally terrible well I only tried the breakfast tacos. I ordered chorizo and egg and it was most disgusting tacos I have ever eaten. The eggs were not cooked right and then they place chorizo on top. This is not how you cook chorizo and egg. You mix them and cook them together. Then the person ordered egg and sausage with cheese. The cheese is literally the cheapest one you could ever buy at the store. I know it is family owned I feel sorry to write this review. But they need to do something about it. Also, no coffee in the mornings? What do they expect? Eat breakfast tacos with a coca cola? The staff recommended the quesabirritas so we both ordered them. They were EXCELLENT! One of the workers told us all about the sauces and the correct order to put them on the tacos. The sauces were great too! We went with our kids, and they let us try one of the kid dishes because we were unsure they would like it. They even have really good filtered water. Great little spot for some authentic Mexican goodies. When you walk in, you can tell it's the real deal and the staff is so welcoming upon taking your order. My favorite is that they pay attention to what you say and they recommend foods tailored to what you're hoping to get. I had tacos de carne (street tacos) with the cilantro and onions... the red sauce hit the spot! My daughter had the breakfast chorizo tacos for dinner and they also didn't disappoint. Her favorite was the horchata to go along with it. Give them a try and remember, they're new! They're trying their best to make a great first impression and I can tell you the food and the service will have me going back. I'd like to thank the owner for the free Volcán snack as well. Finally made it in. Place is beautiful. Bummed we came in a day the AC wasn't working. Or they just keep it that hot. They didn't even say why it was so hot. Which worried me about their food. We got some breakfast tacos and some carnitas tacos. Didn't like how the onions, cilantro, and pico, and like were on the side. Would've been nice they packed it together. The red and green sauce has zero flavor. Red was spicy but both smelled bad. As a matter of fact all of our food smelled bad. If I'm being honest it all smelled like bad body odor. Which could be from the no AC. The carnitas tacos were small. Very small. For $3.50 compared to other places. Very little flavor. Very disappointed. Will not be coming back. Too expensive for food that smelled like body odor and small portions, undercooked eggs, and sauce that was gross. Very disappointed. read more

I called to ask if they serve breakfast all day, as it was already past noon. The owner is the one who answered and he said they don't currently, but will be doing so in a few weeks. He then offered to make us breakfast tacos, he just asked for about 20 min. Absolutely awesome customer service! My husband went and grabbed the food and chatted with the owner and said he was a really nice guy. The tacos were SO good. Seriously, just what I needed! The green sauce is so good I could drink it. We will definitely be coming back! The other thing I already LOVE about this place is there are options for my toddler who has egg and dairy allergies. Give this place a shot. Tried it for the first time. Owner suggested to try one of the different taco offerings. Good street tacos are hard to find. People here think that Tex Mex is Mexican. It is not. Especially when you are ordering street tacos. All for that I had were great. My wife really liked her food as well. I read the three reviews that gave them either a 2 star or 1 star. All I got to say is do not pay attention to them. I do not know where they were coming from on their reviews. The owner and staff were very pleasant and helpful in explaining what they offer. Give them a try if you want something that is not covered in cheese, green peppers, and gravy like most tex mex dishes. Watch out for the sauce that comes in the red squeeze bottle. Its not for the faint of heart if you dont like heat. The other two sauce offerings have very good flavor with no heat. Or you can just eat them as the come. We will definitely come back. read more

I came in here because I was craving some tacos. I got the Tacos Asada and he got the Birria Tacos. He got 3 tacos and I got 2, and we each got a Mexican Coke. the total came out to around 20 dollars! Before the food came out, they brought out a fish taco for us in the house. I tried it and it was amazing. It was very flavorful and the veggies were fresh, the fish was amazingly juicy, and it had a little kick to it. When the food came out, it was amazing and we finished our food in less than 5 minutes, but while we were eating they brought out a chips and salsa on the house as well because of the wait for our food (it was no longer than 5 minutes.) You can tell they made everything homemade and everything was amazing. They treated us like family and the customer service was top tier, and they had probably the best tacos I've ever had. 100% would prefer it over things like Taco Bell or Tornado Taco. read more
