Sausage Benedict
Krystal S.

Came here again today and I am always quite impressed with this location. All of the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The menu has gotten bigger so I decided to venture out and try something I haven't before on the menu. This time I got a sausage Benedict and I am very pleased that not only did it taste great but the poached egg was cooked to perfection. Check out that liquid gold! As I've mentioned before, I absolutely love the renovation they did here, it is very cute, bright, and open.

We came in for dinner before the cedar park baseball game. Birria tacos were great. Beans are yummy. Carne guisada got good marks too. Fuuuun drinks Gonzalo was a wonderful server.

Old avocado.

I wish that people would pay attention to what they are doing. That avocado and quac was Old. Don't put that on my food. The tostada was also completely soapy ands not with a corn tortilla. Cheese enchiladas plate nothing special. Rice was the best thing I ate. Oh well first time but probably won't be back.

This spot is my absolute favorite place! I'm here all the time! The service is consistently great, which I really appreciate. Bonus points for the mimosas, cocktails and beer! It's dog-friendly too, with a patio for outdoor dining.

2 brothers on the menu I believe.

1000/10!! The place was extremely packed, the staff was all extremely friendly. We got seated right away despite it being busy. The food was soooo delicious!!! Would definitely recommend!!

I love a good breakfast and Dos Hermanos certainly delivered. I ordered a breakfast taco, made with corn tortillas, refried beans, cheese and hashbrowns, and homemade mild red salsa (just the right amound of garlic, and taste of fresh tomatoes.) Price range was broad, and fair given the quality of ingredients. As far as I could tell, everything was made from scratch. They have an extensive menu, with breakfast, lunch and dinner Tex-Mex items. I can't wait to go back, and will probably order those devine breakfast tacos again. Oh, yeah, it was only 1 breakfast taco, but HUGE. I had to take half home for later.

Chips and really good salsa

Read the reviews and we decided to try this place. The staff were phenomenal. We were seated right away, had amazing service for the entire experience. I love the updated decor, very nice and clean. We tried the chicken fajitas and carne guisada tacos. For a start we had queso, salsa and chips. (Salsa-really good) The portions for both our meals were very generous, the rice and beans were good and the toppings for the fajitas were fresh a great quality. Carne Guisada anything is always my go to, the tortillas here were absolutely hand made and so good! The meat flavor was rich and excellent. I will be back! The chicken fajitas were a great portion size and the chicken had good flavor, the veggies fresh. The charro beans were fresh and very flavorful. Based on the reviews I really want to come back and try a few more things!

We loved Gloria's and were sad to see her go but Dos Hermanos is a worthy replacement dare I say even better. With a wonderfully bright remodel and a new full bar area Dos Hermanos is in our rotation for both breakfast and dinner. After surviving a Costco Saturday morning shopping fubar we decided a Mexican breakfast was in order as we have been wanting to try this restaurant. My Huevos Rancheros were on point. Plus 1 stated that the red sauce was as good as her mom's. Her Migas were equally good. You will not go away hungry as you get a bountiful serving. The stack of warm tortillas, I believe homemade, was great for sopping up my leftover sauce and eggs. Our personable server stopped by a number of times to check on us as did the manager. A great addition to the area!

Look at the little bubbles of goop that came out of my steak, you usually only see that in bottom of the barrel frozen burger patties.

Eventually, someone handed me a menu. I ordered a coffee, but they barely had any creamer options available until I had to ask for more. The owner brought it out and seemed pleasant at first. Then the food came. The grilled muffin was tiny, cold, and doughy in spots. I simply asked if it was fresh or store-bought--I didn't complain or ask for a remake. The owner's response? He snatched it off the counter and threw it away. My breakfast platter was no better. The grits were the only thing served hot. The eggs were runny (for scrambled eggs, which is unusual), and everything else was cold. When I asked the waiter if something was off in the kitchen, his reaction made it clear this wasn't a one-time issue. He offered to remake the food, but before that could happen, the owner came back, took my plate--including the items that were perfectly fine--and told me I didn't have to eat anything. The waitress apologized repeatedly and handled the situation far more professionally than the owner did. I came in wanting to support a local business, but this was disappointing across the board--poor food quality, inconsistent service, and unprofessional behavior. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

Everything here is extremely overpriced, and I honestly don't understand why because the quality does not match the cost at all. The matcha was awful. One of the worst I've had and it was almost $9 for something I couldn't even finish. My favorite matcha in downtown Austin is that price and it's sensational. The fried pickles were the only thing that tasted decent, but even those were crazy overpriced. The vibe was just poorly executed. It felt like they couldn't decide what they wanted to be. The patio gives mediocre sports bar, the covered outdoor area has fluorescent lights and random sports on TV, and the inside feels like it wanted to be a Mexican diner but changed its mind halfway through. You order at the counter, but it felt like the cashier was making it up as she went along. I asked if they whisk their matcha or could tell me anything about it, the staff member just said she didn't know about matcha. Next, we asked about how they do a Froot Loop flavor. She said "it's a combination of syrups," I said "what syrups?" She said "housemade ones" and I said "what flavors?" Finally she told me it was vanilla and lavender, but it was like pulling teeth to get an answer. The customer service, quality, flavors, pricing, and decor were off. Best thing about this place was the cute street-facing sign.

It's quick, affordable, and reliably delicious. We've tried most of the menu by now, but my usual orders are the Breakfast Burrito and the Breakfast Menudo -- both always hit the spot. And you absolutely can't beat their Barbacoa Taco -- it's easily one of the best in the area. They are always fast to and service is great. Simple, fast, and consistently good. It was warm inside, and luckily, someone finally came out from the back and turned down the A/C. The service was adequate, and our food was tasty. I liked that the hot sauce wasn't too hot; it's smooth and pourable as opposed to chunky. Portions were nice; I took half of mine home. Soft drinks are in a can. I'm deducting two stars because while we were there, a couple came in with their dog and proceeded to order and eat, feeding the dog off of the plate as it sat in the woman's lap. If this was on an outside patio, I wouldn't have given it a second glance, other than to think that the dog was cute. But I'm sorry, gross. And none of the staff addressed it, which makes me wonder about their cleanliness standards...

One stop shopping for primo eating and drinking good times…read more * * * Obsidian Brewery makes beer. I have no idea how the beer is. I may visit Obsidian Brewery time after time after time after time and never find out how their beer is. This is because a) They have an outstanding bar and b) They have an outstanding kitchen. For me, beer is a hardship beverage you drink when there is nothing else better available. When I go to a bar, I can sometimes be looking for mix-mastering. Usually I am looking for outstanding top of the line hard spirits. * * * When I walked into Obsidian, I looked at their bar. It was love at first sight. In front of me were twenty yards of three shelves of the most wonderful bottles I could possibly imagine. Half of them I had never heard of before. * * * I settled on a Buddha's Hand Gin. Buddha and Gin rarely appear in the same sentence Never mind the same label on a bottle. I ordered it straight up. I went immediately to Nirvana. Forget the meditation and the austerities. The Buddha's Hand Gin was as good as a trip to the Himalayas. Buddha's Hand is an obscure citrus fruit that grows multiple protuberances the way some horseradishes do. It is golden and looks like a hand. Ergo the name. The Buddha's Hand Gin is a citrus tinged gin with an edge more like orange zest than like orange juice. The additional botanicals make it strong, attention grabbing, fruity and yet combative. I was absolutely fascinated. Note that Buddha's Hand Gin is only one of the many items they have to explore there. I am totally ready to do more exploring. * * * The kitchen at Obsidian is also of distinction. The savvy local guide I came with adored his Thai Curry Wood Fired Rings. I went with a Cheesy Bread. This is open-faced grilled cheese on a thick slice of bread the size of a shoebox, with a wonderful homemade tomato sauce on about 1/3 of it. It is the best cheese pizza you have ever had. It is what cheese pizza is supposed to be if you don't use the standard canned ingredients that institutional providers sell to Domino's. I was as in love with my cheese bread as I was with my citrus gin. * * * The company was also outstanding. Which is just as well because Obsidian is a social place. Lots of Leanderthals having a fine time in couples and groups. This is not a loner's loser bar. You know - the dark rooms with misfits drinking their sixth beer while watching TV. This is a good folks good times full-of-sunlight place. So you definitely want to come with good folks. * * * Good food, good bottles, good people. And if you are feeling chipper, You can even have a homemade beer to celebrate.

Example - normal price of $12 and happy hour price of $9. To get them for the $9 price you have to spend a minimum of $3 in beverages, PER APPETIZER you order lol. So bizarre. So if you want to get 3 appetizers for yourself you have to buy 3 drinks or else it's full price. Only one happy hour appetizer price per $3+ beverage. Very weird. I've never heard of a stipulation to get a happy hour appetizer price The overall layout of this restaurant is excellent. I can see it hopping on Sunday afternoons for NFL games and Saturdays in the fall for college football games. It was very empty on a Tuesday night but most places are slow Monday through Wednesday. I hope the place can get it together with their service, logical reasoning, and implement some more common sense and hire more assertive employees and managers. It could be a mainstay in the area with better management and training. No WiFi either and poor mobile data service in this area, so wasn't able to post this review until I got on the road.
