Three and a half stars. We have seen this location open for a while now, and decided to come in for dinner. The inside looks nice and clean. The service on a weekday was good. Standard chips and salsa when you sit down. The drinks: my mojito was great and good size too. My hubby ordered the tamarind drink and thought it was too sweet/too much syrup so he wasn't a fan. That starter: ordered the beef fajita nachos and the beef was tender and it had good flavor. My plate: carne asada plate medium well. Tender but chewy. The flavor wasn't bad and the rice and beans were pretty standard. The kid: tacos al carbon. She didn't like the tortilla at all. The flour tortilla was like the stuff you buy in a bag and beef in there was different than the carne asada. She was not a fan. The hubby: chicken Flautas. Really greasy/oily but the flavor was the best from our plates. To go plate: camarones al mojo de ajo. Really nice portion of shrimp and the person who ate it said it wasn't bad. read more

I've been to Dos Charros several times. The food was always delicious and service was always good. The only downside to me was that the music was a little loud and it was hard to have a conversation. Otherwise, it's a lovely place and I recommend it. read more

We ordered food for takeout and were pleasantly surprised by the speed in which our order was prepared. We ordered meals for 7 people to-go and everything prepared and bagged in under 15 minutes. The workers were exceptionally nice and attentive to us while we waited, even offering us a complimentary drink while our food was being prepared. The cost of the food was very reasonable and I love that they had kids meals (with chicken nuggets) for my picky 3 year old who hates to try new things. While the food was good, nothing was exceptionally great.... They had all the basic foods that you can get at any Mexican restaurant; nothing signature that makes this restaurant stand out among the rest. But the price and convenience make this a restaurant that I would probably visit again. read more

Dos Charros is a great place and always clean and decor is beautiful. We went there Saturday to celebrate their Anniversary now over two years!! Time files. The Manager met us as we came in the door and wondered why we had not been in for a while. LIfe is sometimes challenging and he welcomed us. We had the $5.00 margaritas which were very good. We ordered Chicken Quesadillas and Chili Relleno and both are always great. Of course the chips and salsa were on the table as well..Our food was great and hot with lots of food on the plate. I'm not sure what has happened in the past several months but something has changed at this location. I always get the same thing and the last 2 times in the last month there were several notable issues 1. The sauce on the poblano enchiladas didn't taste the same and tasted a bit odd 2. Was hoping for a fantastic Mexican food place...it was confusing. Some items were very good, others failed. Fajita nachos - made right! Not ballpark cheese, nice melted shredded cheese. Lots of jalapeños tomatoes guacamole sour cream. Beef fajita meat had zero taste - no seasoning! Stuffed jalapeños - awesome! Stuffed full of chicken. Spicy jalapeños but not over the top. So good!!! Guacamole - good, no problem, nothing special but just fine. Sour cream chicken enchiladas- overstuffed with chicken. Very very good. Beef enchiladas- absolutely no seasoning on the ground beef. Nothing here. Beef taco - once again no seasoning on the ground beef. Rice - it's a Mexican restaurant how can the rice be wrong - no seasoning, no taste, very bland rice - beyond yuck! Loved the food, service and decor. It isn't one of those places that look nice but lacks in service or food. It had both. My waiter was great very quick but I also came during a non peak time so I can't speak to how quick they are during a rush. The ambiance is super cute. Low led lighting. Photo board. Size wise it's on the quaintish side. I can see how it could get crowded and I'm not sure if it could hosts a party but maybe against the wall seating. For the city of sunny vale and it's surrounding residents, it definitely a good addition to the city. The fish was good as well. Food: Tasted like reheated food. The agua de pina (pineapple juice) was disgustingly watered down with no flavor. Service: HORRIBLE! What type of waitress comes to your table and doesn't greet you, doesn't present themselves and just stands there staring at you. Literally!! Waitress looks mad and doesn't smile. She had no problem smiling and laughing with the other employees. This was my experience with my family. The waitress rushed the whole visit. When our food came out she handed me all of the plates to pass out , with absolute no warning that the plates were hot. We have eaten at Dos Charros four or five times. Yesterday we went for dinner. I usually have the fajitas but I ordered Eva's Plate and it was delicious. My wife ordered the Mr. Molina plate and was very happy with her entree. While mine was excellent, if you are really hungry, order the Molcajete, it is shrimp, beef, and chicken in a stone bowl. The chicken was good, the beans and rice were average and the queso was ok. The hot sauce is great but just not given enough, 2 bowls for 4 people and no refills was kind of disappointing. Food was good, I was expecting a little more flavor bug overall it was good. One of the plates we got was the molcajete, overall it was good, except the shrimp, it was missing seasoning. Guacamole could have also been better. The price was also fair. For dessert we got a Flan and it was GOOOD! I am really picky about my flan I was so surprised that it was AMAZING! Don't get their margaritas... served with no detectable alcohol and in the smallest glasses they could find. Happy hour pricing would have been welcomed... $8 for a small glass of margarita mix... Lastly, customer service was nearly non- existent. If a table for two spends nearly $100 on their visit then the two people near the front door should minimally thank them for coming when they leave.
