It was fairly busy when we went on a Saturday mid afternoon. We were seated quickly. The atmosphere and decor reminds me quite a bit of Cheddars. When we sat down, there was some kind of an annoying and audible hum coming from the ceiling. It would randomly go on and off. Our server told us that it had to do with their sound/speaker system. The place had a fairly high noise level anyway, along with the music that they were playing. Our server was very friendly and helpful in navigating the menu and answering questions. She went above and beyond being highly attentive in keeping up with all of her tables. The food was above par and very good, quality and quantity wise. We tried a few chicken entrees and they were great. The fried mushrooms were super good. I noticed somebody in the Yelp reviews compared them to Chili's. My opinion is that there is no comparison. I've been in this building so many times, going back to Carvers Steakhouse and then Smokey bones but Mo's makes the building work best. If I had one comment that wasn't positive it's your chairs. They simply don't move well with your flooring. It was a Friday night and we were about 15 minutes early for our reservation. We were greeted at the door of the restaurant as soon as we walked in. We were immediately ushered to our table. Our waiter was at the table a few minutes later to introduce himself and see if we wanted anything to drink. I ordered the Second Circle martini and the hubby got an iced tea. Our excellent waiter was Patrick. The Second Circle martini is Woodford Reserve bourbon, Ruby port, maple syrup, and Bitters. The martini was good with the overriding flavors being the port and maple syrup. Really did not taste the Woodford but I liked it. Someone brought a bread service to the table and poured water. Patrick took our order for starters when he brought the drinks back. We ordered the steak tartare and the chicken livers. I have had the chicken livers here before and already knew that I liked them. The chicken livers are served on a bed of frisee lettuce, sweet red onions, and aged balsamic vinegar. This perfectly complements the crispy on the outside and tender on the inside chicken livers. The hubby liked the steak tartare better. The steak tartare was made with black garlic, egg yolk jam, shiso, a bone marrow cracker, and togarashi. Both were tasty ways to start our meal. Patrick took our order for dinner when he brought out our starters. The hubby ordered the 14 oz New York strip and a loaded baked potato. I ordered the lobster bisque and coho salmon. In addition I ordered another martini, the vanilla espresso martini. Patrick brought my lobster bisque out shortly after that. This was very tasty and reminiscent my favorite lobster bisque. The only thing I would change would be to make it a little bit thicker but it had excellent flavor it had a little bit of pernod cream and a few bites of lobster. Our dinner was brought to the table and he set the baked potato in between us because it was huge any thought we might want to share it! The hubby ordered his steak medium rare and it was cooked perfectly and he said it had great flavor. My coho salmon was cooked perfectly as well and I had never eaten wheat berries and they were slightly crunchy giving the dish some texture. We both really enjoyed our main dishes with no complaints. To top off the night I ordered coffee with cream and creme brulee. He brought my coffee to the table in a stainless steel pitcher and he brought a pitcher of cream and he had also taken the extra step to warm up my coffee cup. This was awesome! I love my coffee to be very hot and this was perfect. A little bit later he brought the creme brulee in the hubby and I shared it the burnt sugar on top was nice and crusty and we had to crack through it just like you should. We had a very enjoyable meal and will definitely be going back. I would suggest asking for Patrick on your trip in as he did an excellent job.

In concept, I think it's really fun. The antique post office doesn't lend itself to fine dining. And neither did the menu or the staff. But the idea of eating in this unique space is fun. The food, staff, and pricing were all fairly problematic. We got what at best was Olive Garden/Applebees fare at St. Elmo's prices. I say "at best" because I found all the dishes I tried inedible or close to it. I had a Caesar salad, deviled eggs, and the diablo chicken pasta. First, surprisingly, the diablo chicken pasta was spicy! It's rare in Southern Indiana for something labeled spicy to live up to the reputation. But this was Thai-food levels of spicy. Much spicier than Nashville Hot Chicken. This was bring you to Jesus levels of hot sauce. There wasn't much of any chicken in it. So it was just noodles and some kind of sauce that puts Louisiana Hot Sauce to shame. There was a little spattering of parm and some parsley for looks on top. I wasn't offered any additional parm. Had I been prepped for Thai/Indian/Asian levels of spice, I might have been happy with it. But I found it inedible as there was no flavor other than "Ouch!" The caesar salad had no anchovy taste to it, and also lacked any parm. There wasn't even decorative parm. That was weird. It was just romaine lettuce and a watery, Caesar dressing colored mayo sauce with a few croutons. It was at least edible. The deviled eggs were sweeter than skittles. And instead of paprika, they had some type of bbq spice rub liberally sprinkled over them. My mouth wasn't prepared for that and I was so shocked by the flavor that the other people laughed at the unintentional face I made. My son didn't finish his chicken parm either. So I don't think I just lucked out with the wrong choices. My other kid got a steak, and he seemed happy with hit. That might be the one thing to stick to on the menu if you're there. The staff were OK-ish. They had a strange air of being off-put by us, but I'm not sure why. We were friendly, tipped well, and were decently dressed, etc. The manager or owner did come out and ask about the deviled eggs as the eggs went uneaten. I had to admit they weren't to my taste, but I was nice about it. Definitely not somewhere I would try again. But it's an OK stop if you don't mind the prices and are interested in the post office atmosphere.
