We had a Spectacular event a Dos Amigos tonight, it was my wife Beverly's Birthday. The girls from her office threw her a bash, and as always Jose, his wife and the rest of the staff were very accommodating to our group. And let me tell you we were the noisiest crowd. I'm sure we disturbed the rest of the clientele but the staff still made everyone feel at home. Gracias Jose, es un placel estar en tan buenas Mano. Mui Agradecido, Willie read more

Don't believe the pictures. They are not representing the actual meal. Tastes very fast food and hastily prepared. Service was the worst. Never asked if we enjoyed the food. NEVER trust a Restaraunt with ripped & torn menus. Save your money and eat elsewhere. read more

Omg!! Love this place! Food was amazing! It had so much flavor to it. The drinks are strong and tastes good! It was just perfect! Nice customer service. We are satisfied and definitely will be coming back! read more

Extremely disappointed with this business. I was super excited to try since I heard great things...however, my experience did not add up. -Manager told me that I was charged $10 in tax and credit card fees!(Nowhere does it say that if you pay with credit card you will be charged a fee.) When dining here be careful with extra fees and charges! I will not be ordering from here again! read more

Nice place in town, friendly staff & good food. However, when ordering out the portion is extremely small, cheap on portions. I've spent $40 on chips n guac, and steak fajitas. Rice is a scoop, the bag of chips for this entire meal is half the size of a brown kids paper lunch bag. Which is wrong. I like to support my local businesses but my gosh I have told them about this and they continue being so cheap on their take out's and their prices are sky high! Porfavor...... no sea maceta con la comida plz!gracias read more

Dos Amigos - This is how a michelada must be done ... - Mexican Near Me - Middletown, New York

Enjoyed a wonderful meal at Dos Amigos with some friends. We are extremely loyal Hacienda patrons (when it comes to Mexican food), however, a friend invited us to join them at Dos Amigos. They were extremely accommodating of our large party (10), and the service was solid throughout our meal. I typically stay away from the taco/burrito/fajita selections, as I find that the authentic Mexican options are always a treat. That being said, by suggestion of our waiter, I went with one of their fajitas. It was without a doubt the best fajita i've ever had. My only criticism is that their sangria isn't as good as Hacienda's. If you are looking for am off-the-beaten-path Mexican meal, I highly suggest Dos Amigos. Ask for Abraham, he's wonderful. read more

This is one of the best Mexican specialty restaurants in Orange County. The seasonings are fresh and complements all their dishes. And don't miss out on their special drinks and desserts read more

My husband and I had planned to check this place out for a while. It's in the middle of nowhere, but worth the drive - especially for the churros and vanilla ice cream. Great food all around, really good salsa, nice staff and a fun ambiance. Of all the bigger Mexican food restaurants in the area (El Bandido, Hacienda, etc.) this one was better and well worth the drive out to Fair Oaks/Bloomingburg. read more

This is my first time here unfortunately I took takeout. My first impression was great. I walked in bar was packed and everyone was welcoming. I received my order and went home mildly disappointed we didn't eat in. Everyone was listening to the jukeboxes having some food and drinks smiles, something we are going n need of. I will go there to eat or even if it is for a couple of drinks. See you soon Dos Amigos! read more

We really enjoyed this little spot. What a surprise to find a decent Mexican restaurant in upstate NY. I didn't give them five stars because the tortillas didn't taste homemade and the meat for my fajitas was a bit grizzly. Other than that... we were very pleased. read more

AWESOME, AMAZING gem on the side of the road! I attend Church nearby and wanted Mexican, so after a quick Yelp search I was pleasantly surprised to find this place so close to where I worship. The atmosphere and ambiance on a Sunday afternoon was quaint and relaxing. The chairs, tables, glasses and a beautiful wall mural speak nicely to the culture and transport you to a small town in Mexico. The food was great! It came out quickly but not fast food quick... I judge Mexican cuisine/restaurants based on how good their mole sauce is and this hit on all cylinders! I had the chicken enchiladas and the mole was perfect. The mole was velvety and dark and the cocoa really was pronounced. The chicken was seasoned nicely and the portions are plentiful. The guacamole was pretty good. I thought it would be prepared in front of you, instead it came out in a tortilla bowl. It was pretty good and fresh. The one thing I will say disparagingly is Dos Amigos, ya have to step your sangria game up! But the complimentary tequila shot made up for it quite nicely. It wasn't the cheap stuff Overall really good experience and will gladly tell my Church folk about Dos Amigos. Viva Dos Amigos. Wish I would've taken some pictures read more

Best margaritas around! Amazing guacamole. Courteous staff. Always a wonderful meal.

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. Everyone is super friendly, the food is amazing and the prices are great.

Great food and fast, friendly service, I have been here many times and never had a bad experience or meal. Great local Mexican food!

If this app allowed zero stars, they'd get them. Restaurant is a dump, staff are rude and ignore customers & only tend to regulars. Me and my wife ordered food being the only ones in the place, while the entire staff sat at the bar on their phones or watching tv. Food took almost 30 minutes to come out. Plate was scorching hot, food was cold. Our waiter walked by the table 9 times during our entire time there and not once offered to refill our drinks or ask if we needed anything. When I gave my card to pay the bill I wondered what was taking so long so I went up front and quickly discovered they tried hiding the fact they charged my card for the wrong table for over $120. Our bill was $53. So that was $170 they charged my bank and just shrugged in my face about it saying it would be refunded in a couple days. Worst place I've ever been to and wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy. read more

This place is amazing! The environment looks very cultural and intimate, simple and comfortable at the same time. I love the people as well who are very welcoming and put off a good vibe; they make you feel like you part of the family. The food is delicious and with a nice decor when its brought to you. I'm coming back to this place for sure! I recommend it to anyone willing to have it exciting and delicious food. :) read more

Good heat level, good service (though I was literally the only person in there so it'd be bad if it weren't). Chicken enchilada maybe a little tastier and less greasy than the beef. Flan was decidedly meh - too dense, wet, overly sweet (i.e. all the things that usually go wrong with flan and make it less desirable). read more

Have you ever had a meal that's brought someone to tears? Read on... My wife had a hankering for chicken fajitas and we were looking for something to satisfy. Tired of the prices at El Bandito, not hungry enough for a chain like Chipotle, I found Dos Amigos here on Yelp. I read the great reviews and in spite of having lived in the area for a long time, we never stopped in. We were greeted pleasantly and seated immediately. As we were still making our way into our chairs, chips and salsa came out, followed by water. We ordered cocktails and perused the menu. We had mentioned that this was our first time to the restaurant and were brought out an order of guacamole to sample. This was, by far, the best I have EVER had at at restaurant. Creamy and perfectly seasoned with chunks of fresh avocado throughout. It could have been our meal and we would have been satisfied. To order, my wife stuck with the fajitas but I just couldn't decide. I asked our waiter, who I assume is one of the Amigos, what he would order and after making some suggestions he got a look in his eye and told me he would bring me something I would be sure to enjoy. What arrived was a beautiful paella with clams, mussels, shrimp, scallops, and langostinos. It was similar to their on-the-menu Mariscada, but so much more. When it was brought to the table my wife was so touched that someone took the time to consider and prepare something that they themselves would enjoy, the thought brought her to tears. Both of our dishes were incredibly delicious and the staff very attentive. Robert Kopek was there to play guitar, what a great talent he has. We loved the congenial family atmosphere. The total for our meals, including four $9 cocktails, was just under $90. How on earth can you beat that?? read more

Welcome new addition. Reasonably priced, tasty food (and excellent Margaritas!) Both my wife and I had a combination dinner. You can choose any three of Burrito, Chile Relleno, Chimichanga, Enchilada, Flauta, Taco, Tamale. We tried the Burrito, Chile Relleno, Chimichanga, Enchilada, and opted for a mix of chicken and shredded beef. All excellent. Warm chips and salsa came out promptly. The place was jammed on a Friday night and the kitchen was backed up, but the staff was pleasant and communicated well. Went on a friend's recommendation. Met other friends while there and they have been there three times - so word of mouth is good and says they are consistent. Definitely will be going back. read more

You will likely never go here, until it is featured on an episode of Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. It's actually pretty darn good. The decor feels like you are in Mexico at your aunt's table. Faux crystal goblets for water, polyester blend napkins, bright decor, dimly lit. Good portions. We had the fiesta grande $17 - chimichanga, nachos, guac and sour cream. It was pretty good, albeit all fried and covered which cheese. For example on this platter, the nachos are individually slathered in refried beans and then topped with cheese and broiled. So, every chip is a winner. The tomatillo salsa is fresh, homemade and spicy. The regular salsa that comes with the chips, is bland, watery but still fresh. The ceviche with crab and shrimp in an avocado shell was delicious for $10. And, when spilling out my avocado shell I discovered no avocado, the server quickly sent me out a whole avocado, which I promptly turned into guacamole since my ceviche was almost done. The margarita's are strong and served in those really fun, wide mouthed, oversized champagne cup looking glasses. $7. And, the service while imperfect was so genuinely caring that the little bit of frenzy became a happy buzz. Oh, and the music wasn't too loud either. Love this place. Will go back if I ever need Mexican in the middle of nowhere. read more

I did not expect this place to be so cute and so well kept. It's not located in a prime location but it's defiantly worth checking out! I recently went with my mother in law and her two nieces and we loved everything. The food came fast, the staff was friendly and attentive and we had a great time. I will definitely be going to this restaurant again. The tacos had a little more flavor than at Gaby's which I also enjoyed. read more

THIS PLACE IS FUN! This is one of the few places you can get authentic Mexican food near Middletown. The food was great and the staff was friendly! The reason I am giving this place a 4 stars instead of a 5 is because I went with a large group and we were unable to split the bill. No one on the staff even tried to split it but we did figure it out by doing the math. I also appreciated that they put our large party in the back portion of the restaurant so we could talk and laugh without feeling like we were disturbing others. Overall, this tiny spot in a tiny town will give you big city feels. Definitely a nice place for a dinner with friends!!! You do get complimentary tequila shots at the end of your meal. read more

We were relieved to find a place still open after a long hike at Sam's Point on July 4th. They immediately brought us fresh chips (still warm!) and salsa.
