Today, I enjoyed a yummy Mexican lunch at Dos Amigos. From the outside, the establishment looks uninviting considering it's on the side of an isolated road. However, don't let that deceive you from the authentic Mexican ambience and delicious food. The inside is decorated with very colorful and festive l Mexican murals, tables, and chairs. It definitely gives off that real Mexican vibe. Ambience rate 10/10. They give your classic chips and salsa as a complimentary starter. What was ordered were... 1. Carne/Steak Tacos: - The steak wasn't anything special, it tasted bland. Thankfully, they gave a side of salsa verde for some taste. Rate 5.5/10. 2. Fajitas de Carne: - This dish had very good seasoning and mixed well with the onions, mushrooms, peppers, and tomatoes. However, it was extremely oily which was a downside. Rate 7.5/10. 3. Enchiladas con Mole Poblano: - This place makes the BEST enchiladas con mole I have ever tasted. The sauce is super savory and sweet. The tortillas are cooked perfectly soft in the middle and crispy on the edges. And my meat of choice is ground beef which they season nicely. Lastly, it is melted in a good amount of cheese. They normally put a ton of mole poblano sauce on the plate which I love, however this time they skimped out which was upsetting. So I wish they consistently doused the dish in that sauce. Nevertheless, this is my favorite dish due to how delectable it tastes. Rate 10/10. *each dish comes with a side of rice and beans* The prices for each dish are fair considering the amount that is given. The staff is very friendly, however the service is a little slow when you first order. Once you place your order, the food does come out relatively quick, so that's nice. Service rate 9/10. Overall, I would describe this place as a hidden gem in terms of their enchiladas con mole poblano. I always come here to this specific restaurant just for that dish. In regard to their other dishes I've tried, they are just subpar. However, I'd still recommend this place for everyone to try at least once!

Service was great! Food was pretty good. Chips and salsa were really good. Lots of cheese on the enchiladas for my fellow cheese lovers.

Was great place in the middle of nothing lol I was happy I found it the food and service really great the place is so beautiful colorful decor. No 5 starts because of the margarita needs to work on that

Not a good one. The waiter took us to our table and we waited for good 1o minutes if we want a drink. I went for a beer and my husband decided just for water since he was driving. I keep looking at the waiter to see if he will turn his eyes to where we were seating.,,,nothing happened,,, he kept talking to the lady who was wearing a pink sweater. Like trying to figure out if we were gay! Yes we are and we are here to eat and drink Mexican food. Finally we decided on Mole verde for me, which it wasn't mole more a green tomatillo sauce. The Cancun ceviche was a bit salty but really fresh. His attitude really made us feel unwelcome (the waiter). My husband had quesadillas de pollo, he said it unimpressed. People come from other countries escaping injustice and extreme poverty only to discriminate on other people in the USA. The place was a bit cold. Several heaters around the restaurant. One lady keep asking if everything was ok with the food I supposed. I'm gay I felt not welcome at your establishment my husband mentioned the same thing in the car. I never mentioned anything to him at the table. I left over 20% tip no hard feelings over you prejudice Jorge.

Where do I begin? Dos Amigos Restaurant has got to be one of the best hidden treasures in all of the Hudson Valley. Mexican food has historically not been my go to when I'm hungry. It's been my experience that they heavily lean on what the singer Setra calls "cheese, cheese, cheese, cheese cheese". Most of the Mexican food that I've explored has been built on a foundation of cheese and cheese doesn't play nice with my body, so because I avoid it, that usually limits my options. Our friendly and efficient server navigated the menu and constructed an array of choices that when all was said and delivered to the table, were bursting with freshness and flavor. The chips and salsa were a reminder of what I always knew was possible; a testament to what happens when a restaurant does something better than open a jar and cares about providing an eye opening, heart warming offering. The meal went on to steak and really great rice and beans and more fresh deliciousness in the tortillas but now is a good time to reveal what made the meal feel like some unseen force was making love to my palate and my mind: the best margaritas outside of Mexico. A bold claim that a single sip can confirm but you'll know for sure when you find yourself licking the bottom of the glass. Dos Amigos restaurant just might have made me a fan of Mexican food. At last.

Some of us got coffees which took a bit but they were delicious. Definitely worth the wait. They have a good kids menu too. We got the frychos with chorizo as an appetizer which I've always loved but everyone at the table enjoyed them. Although I have my regular favorites I decided to try something off the brunch menu and I'm glad I did. I got the chilaquiles with green sauce and carne asada. It was very good. My only complaint was the steak wasn't cut up but that could be a personal preference. It tasted great. My husband got the breakfast torta with chorizo and really liked it. My mother in law got the breakfast omelet and she's very picky but loved it. The service was great the entire time. She even took a group photo for us at the end.

That's what it smelled like as well Quesabirria tacos were good however they do not dip the tortillas before grilling and they use one tortilla per taco . Consommé served warm ( not acceptable it must be hot) Shrimp taco had very overcooked shrimp. Seasoning barely noticeable ( one tortilla so it fell apart when I picked it up) Original spicy torta: this restaurant does not have or use refried beans for tortas . They didn't give me a meat option they said oh we made a birria torta we thought it's what you wanted. They offered to swap it but if you are familiar with chefs and cooks you just no thank you and take it. According to the staff they are a California style restaurant? I've seen California tortas and they are the same as New York. The protein options did not include Milanesa style chicken or steak Very nice very clean restaurant. The young lady who took the order comped us a lime Aqua Fresca and a sample of churros in hopes we will return. I made no complaints as the order was to go. Birria flavor was good although lacking in thst clove cinnamon aroma.

Our waitress, Angela, was awesome--friendly, attentive, and on top of everything without being overbearing. We were quickly brought chips and salsa, and our drink order was taken. My wife ordered a margarita, and I went with a mango iced tea, which was really refreshing. We decided to skip appetizers this time and went straight to our entrées. My wife ordered the chicken Milanesa sandwich, which she absolutely loves--it's a staple for her whenever we come here. I ordered the combination platter with enchiladas suizas, a gringo taco, and a chicken quesadilla. Everything came out hot and tasted great, just like it always does. I also asked about one of the tequilas and ended up ordering a shot, which was a nice touch to the meal.
