My wife and I went to Frontera for dinner tonight, and as always, it did not disappoint. This place has become one of our go-to spots, and they continue to deliver a great experience every time. We were seated right away when we arrived, which was a great start. Our waitress, Angela, was awesome--friendly, attentive, and on top of everything without being overbearing. We were quickly brought chips and salsa, and our drink order was taken. My wife ordered a margarita, and I went with a mango iced tea, which was really refreshing. We decided to skip appetizers this time and went straight to our entrées. My wife ordered the chicken Milanesa sandwich, which she absolutely loves--it's a staple for her whenever we come here. I ordered the combination platter with enchiladas suizas, a gringo taco, and a chicken quesadilla. Everything came out hot and tasted great, just like it always does. I also asked about one of the tequilas and ended up ordering a shot, which was a nice touch to the meal. Between the food, drinks, atmosphere, and excellent service, the whole experience was fantastic. I had heard about this restaurant from a coworker and decided to give it a try! I called to try and get reservations for 2 but they only take reservations for a party of 6 or more. We got there around 7:30 on a Saturday night, and there was no wait! The establishment is actually quite large! We were immediately seated by the hostess. They brought out chips and salsa as soon as we sat down. The salsa is a bit spicy so if you have a sensitivity to spice, this will definitely have a kick! We waited about 15 minutes for anyone else to come over. Try hadn't even brought us water, which I was hoping they would've because the salsa was starting to burn! Our server (Natalia) finally came over and was very pleasant. We placed our order and the food came out timely. We both ordered the churrasco steak. The steak itself was very good, however the churrasco sauce they serve was bad. It was only oil. I ate my steak plain. The white rice had a tangy taste to it, and the beans had some grated cheese on top, which I could have done without. We had the tres leche for dessert which was DELICIOUS! If I go back here again, I will definitely try a different dinner dish. Aside for the long wait to get water and to get a server to come over, I would definitely try this place again. We tried this place on a recommendation. We had a nice meal on their patio under umbrellas. Service was good. Frozen margaritas were great. Chips were great. Salsa was a bit bland. Walking into Frontera, I was greeted by several staff members, and they were all very nice. The restaurant is fairly large, and nicely decorated. The chips and salsa were great. I really liked that the salsa had a kick to it, but wasn't too spicy. I ordered the street tacos and they were ok. I thought the chicken was overcooked and a bit dry, so I had to doctor them up with the beans (which were good) and a little slaw. Our waiter was nice, and attentive & the margarita I ordered (El Presidente) was decent...I just wished they were served in larger glasses that other Mexican restaurants use. What is not to like everything is delicious. The food is not your traditional taco menu which I was happy to see because I'm not really a Mexican food lover. However the tacos burritos and chimichangas are really delicious and not huge dishes. Very good sized. Staff is very, very nice Welcoming and eager to serve. The deck is lovely. Give me no grief over using a coupon which other places try to refuse, so plus to them. For the French tacos, loved them, it was like fusion of Mexican and BBQ, the meat was Smokey and sweet and very tender. Wish had more rice since it was enjoyable, the slaw sucked I wish they keep it. Went here on a Wednesday night as we'd passed it a few times before and wanted to give it a try. Not super crowded but still somewhat busy. Ordered a mango iced tea - was somewhat bland to start but got better as it chilled. Chips and salsa came and it was a large basket which was good - the salsa was pretty watery. Had the steak fajitas - the meat was tender but lacked flavor and had more onions than peppers. The rice was just warm and bland - the beans were very watery. The family and I stopped her after a recent trip to Legoland. It was a good choice as they have something for everyone even my little picky eater enjoyed himself. The ambiance is playful and margaritas are tasty, the food is good but i felt it lacked some sabor( flavor) however the salsa bar they have made up for this with a plethora of salsas ranging from mild to fire in the hole hot! I told the waitress and she brought me an oily green something or other. She said she forgot to bring the sauce. I don't know what is happening to this place, but it is no longer a place I want to visit for Mexican food. I didn't eat the food because it was cold when she brought me the sauce. Complementary chips and salsa were amazing! I ordered the fresh guacamole which they make right in front of you and it was bomb. The size portion of these plates are definitely shareable so try not to eat all the chips before you get too full to eat your entrée. Last night I ordered a quesadilla, 3 tacos and a burrito bowl. When i opened the quesadilla I flipped over the whole thing then I saw a long black hair on the top of the tortilla, I went to go remove it and it was cooked into the steak in the quesadilla! I was so disgusted. I will never order from here again! If you want to eat here still keep an eye out for this if it went unnoticed and got sent out i cant even imagine what else gets sent out before checking it. I have it one star so i can post it! Updating my review from 4 years ago when they were newer. I absolutely love going here. The service is always phenomenal. I regularly come here Monday nights with friends for half price margarita pitchers and their queso is out of this world. The margaritas are good and they have lots of flavors to chose from. My go to meal is the chicken chimichanga and have never been disappointed. It's large enough that I almost always have lunch the next day with the left overs. I've also had the Quesa Birria Tacos and they were amazing. I also love their Tres Leches. The place is large and they always do their best to accommodate even large parties. For an after graduation dinner they let us come in early and decorate the table. They always go all out when singing Happy birthday and on mariachi night I was able to get the mariachi band to come over for my dad's birthday and it was one of the best birthdays he's had. Food and Drinks: The first time I went I ordered the top shelf guac and the Aloha tacos, and the second time I went during happy hour and ordered the happy hour chicken quesadilla and two margaritas. Let me tell you WORTH THE MONEY. The tacos were so flavorful and the guac was delicious and spicy. The fun part was they make the guac in front of you so you can actually request how spicy, salty, sour, etc you want your guac to be. The second time I ordered the happy hour quesadilla and that was a meal in itself, the quesadilla was huge and lasted me lunch and dinner. The happy hour margs were flavorful and strong! This place has so many varieties to order from tacos, fajitas, to ceviche and chimichangas. In my opinion its also a perfect place for people who are picky eaters because of the variety they have to offer. Frontera tacos has great salsas, food and wonderful service S/O to Michelle for being a great server. Came here with my usual cohorts we were seated and giving a mini carafe of Salsa which was SOOOO GOOD. One of the best house salsa I have had in recent memory. The chips were crispy and not overly salty. Michelle took our orders and was really sweet and attentive and answered all our questions. The guys got the combo platters, one quesadilla, one taco, one enchilada which you can pick any off the menu which is great! Sister got the taco salad. Everything came out hot and was full of flavor! One might say it was a little heavy with the salt but nothing to detract from the flavors. From pineapple, mango, cotija cheese it was all great! Honestly no complaints about flavor or temperature. Portions were big too. Dessert was a slice of Tres Leche which was moist on the bottom dry on top really a nice treat to end. Price wise it was low compared to food received. One of the servers brought chips & salsa over as we were taking our jackets off and our server greeted us ready to take our drink order within 3 minutes of sitting down. I noticed they had daily specials and for Thursday it was $5 margaritas. It was house tequila but pretty good for $5. My husband ordered their pick 3 menu where you choose 1 taco, 1 quesadilla & 1 enchilada. I ordered the steak & shrimp fajita. Both meals came with beans & rice. My husband finished his food before I hit the chance to taste it so that's a very good sign! For my food I can say I was very satisfied as well. The steak could have used a little more seasoning & they left the tails on the shrimp which I've not seen before for shrimp fajitas but no big deal.... overall I was happy with the good, quantity & service. Their menu has a lot of unique options like salmon fajitas, vegetarian enchiladas & the Maui quesadillas so I know after tonight's meal I will be returning to try these other items out. read more
