It's very quiet and chill here, music is at a minimum, plus they have a coffee stand inside. Also it was kind of slow since i noticed the staff always seemed preoccupied at times, so hard to get ahold of someone. Besides that the salsa with chips was very fresh and good on them for having the watery salsa and not the chunky one. The sopa de pollo was incredible, shredded chicken seasoned well and plenty of it, a few carrots and potatoes very soft and a few peppers, plus a fair amount of rice. The soup was great, well seasoned and almost a meal itself by its size. The tilapia de tres entree was way better then expected buried under juicy and tender shrimp and scallops was two large filets of tilapia, I mean seafood portions were very good and the scallops were not cooked into marbles like other places do. The sauce for the dish was best, it was spicy and smoky, way better than a garlic and butter sauce they do for the other seafood dishes. Refried beans were alright and the yellow rice was good, but wish I had more for that smoky sauce. Definitely amazing food and high quality. Nice to have a local spot. read more

I frequent Dos Amigos weekly and find it to be among the best Mexican food in the area. The portions are large, the flavors are excellent, and the margaritas are flowing! They are kid friendly and are well priced for families. They often run specials on food and drink! Service can be slow, as they are busy. Some nights we are in and out and other nights it drags on. All in all, a staple in our restaurant rotation and we love the food and fun vibes! read more

Food is always good here. Recently I decided to order Chile Rellenos w chicken and they didn't disappoint. I also love the California burrito (which is easily 2 meals). Hubby enjoys the Jalapeño Macho app (wrapped in bacon and stuffed w cheese). The tamales, quesadillas and chilaquiles are also some of our go to apps. The al pastor tacos and burritos are another favorite! The decor is the Mexican charm (painted tables and chairs) and is very inviting! The margs are great, Abraham is so friendly and welcoming...makes this place on our list of go-to Mexican spots! read more

We have gone to this restaurant many times and the meals have been good, however, the takeout leaves much to be desired. We live very close so the food should be hot by the time we get it home but it is not. The portions are smaller than at the restaurant and some important side items were let out. $17 dollars for ONE shot of " top shelf" tequila and in WALLKILL? If the food was more "top shelf" perhaps I wouldn't be so disappointed at this price gouge. Also beware they charge more on bill than what you see on menu. Very awkward way to bump credit card payment. read more

When Dos Amigos II 1st opened, it was very good. Lately, it is not very good. Any of the fried food tastes like fryer oil and I can tell it is rarely cleaned and new oil used. Chips and other fried foods should not have an oily taste and the color should not be dark. That is a sign of fryer oil that has been reused for way too long and it is burnt. When smoke comes out of the fryer or it is dark brown or black, the oil is bad and she not be reused. I'm disappointed that the standards in the kitchen have gone down and as a result of 3 bad meals in a row, I have decided to no longer frequent this establishment. read more

I have been to this place numerous times and it never disappoints. The owner Abraham always makes your experience the best. Tonight I was there with my son for dinner and I had the stuffed chicken special that was wrapped in bacon and it was a huge portion and very reasonably pricedand absolutely delicious. My wife and I go there quite often for the margaritas which are very good. If you have not been here yet definitely give the place a try. You will not be disappointed. In a location with few options its great to have this restaurant. Basic tex-mex style so all can get something for the most part to cover their dietary needs. Prices are reasonable and the service is great. Went on a tuesday and it was pretty poppin with a small wait. read more

I regularly frequent Dos Amigos in fair oaks and Sabroso in Pine Bush. I was excited to see a Dos Amigos II open in my town. I love the traditional food, having spent over 2 decades in Southern California. I waited a good bit to ensure any kinks were worked out with any new restaurant opening. Unfortunately I will continue to go out to Fair Oaks for Lengua. We had three different orders of traditional tacos togo. No one ate more than one taco. The corn tortillas were hard. My lengua was spoiled. We were missing salsa verde as requested and lime, both should have come with the dish. Disappointing indeed. read more

We were here after a friend's recommendation. It is a very simple storefront and would leave one to believe it would be just a decent, one step above, a fast food place. The inside however was bright and colorful. The staff was friendly and welcoming. They told us to sit wherever we would like and within a few minutes someone came to our table to greet us, hand us the menus and asked if we would like a cocktail. We said no thanks to the drink but only because at 2 in the afternoon I'd sleep the rest of the day away. A minute later there were chips and salsa on the table. The chips were warm and unsalted( a problem I have in so many otherwise good Mexican restaurants) and the salsa was thick, just spicy enough and really delicious. I ordered a beef burrito and my wife asked for refried beans and slice avocados. The plates were immense! My wife loved the beans and rice and the avocado was perfectly ripe. But my dish! YIKES! It was tremendous. There was actually three burritos on my plate. These are not the kind of burritos you'll find at Moe's or Taco Bell that you would pick up to eat. You need a knife and fork. They were delicious. They were covered in a sauce that had the slightly charred taste you get when charring tomatoes and peppers before turning them into a luscious delicious sauce. This was the closest flavor I've had to the Mexican places in southern California. it also included rice and refried beans as well as a "token salad" I ate it all. If you're in this area and see this place don't be fooled by its modest appearance from the road. We have been there twice in ten days. This was some of the best tasting Mexican food I've had in this area. The staff was also fantastic and I am sure we'll be back soon. read more

Dos Amigos II catered our son's and his fiancé's engagement party this past weekend. I can't say enough good things about not just the food but also how we were treated by the entire staff. They prepared 300 tacos, rice, beans, and all the sides and sauces you could imagine. Everything was prepared fresh and on time. They also provided a complimentary tray of freshly made guacamole that we forgot to order. The pride they take in preparing their food shines through on the very first bite. Thank you Dos Amigos II. Just returned from Dos Amigos and boy were we pleasantly surprised. The food was truly Mexican, with large portions. The atmosphere is really awesome, with these fantastic murals painted on the walls of the restaurant by a family friend. Abraham, the owner is involved with the service as well as a group of friendly and helpful waitering staff members. Dos Amigos is definitely a diamond in the rough in a small village like Wallkill, it is worth the ride to this tiny village in Ulster County. Bravo Dos Amigos, I will be back. read more

I arrived on a Thursday evening to an empty restaurant. Only myself and two wait staff were in the main area. I was requested to sit at the bar and ordered there. Soon after my food arrived, one of the wait persons stood at the end of the bar and began speaking loudly to a friend about how to care for his puppy that was pooping and peeing everywhere...I spoke up and said "Hey, I'm trying to eat here"...and he just looked at me and said I'm talking on the phone. As if he could not stand anywhere else in the entire restaurant inside or out to have this conversation about his dog's toilet training. I spoke to the manager and told him how off-putting the experience was and didn't hear anything back from him. Received my full bill with no consideration for the awful ambiance and lack of courtesy for their only diner. I and my family will not return. read more

Well I've been there 3 times and until last night it's always been fairly good and tasty. Apps were good. Drinks not overloaded with booze. Basic good fare. Last night 3 of us went service was great, staff friendly. My wife and son had great meals. I ordered pork carnitas which I had ordered previously and enjoyed. Last night it came out and the pork was hard and dry. It was obvious the meat wasn't fresh. I ate my salad rice and refried beans but left the pork on the plate. The server noticed and asked why so I told him. He addressed it with the manager and they did nothing for me. Honestly I expected at least a discount on my meal since I didn't eat the entree. Nothing. No explanation. I politely paid the bill and we left. Won't be back. The place was busy so they won't miss my $125 but I will pass this along to friends and maybe he'll miss all of us.
