Food has always been good until last night. Waiter took our order brought drinks and never came back to our table until he brought the bill by then i was beyond pissed. Chicken and steak dish was too thin and. Beyond dried out. Would've have love another mix drink or water refill but waiter was too busy for 30 minutes standing at a table with a group of ladies to take care of his other tables. Stopped for lunch on the road trip and this restaurant was exactly what we needed - fast, hot, decent service, safe area, predictable food. It feels like a chain Mexican restaurant anywhere in the southeast, but for eating with the kids in an unfamiliar town, it was a great choice. read more

This is a good local Mexican eatery. It is local to where I live. They are always busy here! The restaurant and decor are nicely matched. This place has the nice furniture if you are looking for that in your dining experience. They also have a full bar. Highly recommend the Liquid Marijuana mixed drink. It is a green colored drink that is full of good stuff. It seems to be a crowd pleaser because if you take note you see these cocktails whirl by you full of green liquid...that would be one! The service is always excellent, food comes out hot and cooked to perfection. I really enjoy their Queso (cheese) dip! The chips are nice and crispy. Now on a downer: I am not a fan of their refried beans. I inquired after several visits wondering why they appeared slightly different in color and taste different than all the rest of the Mexican restaurants. I was told they put this seasoning on them when cooking. I asked if I could get some without it but was told they do that first thing in the morning when cooking. I am not a fan of this seasoning. It disappoints because this goes hand-in-hand with your dish. It is one of my favorites as well. Also, some of their dishes that are my traditional go-to's seem to be a little off. I like Shrimp Nachos but the few times there they have put way too much queso on the dish. My husband agrees the same. I will continue to eat here when I am wanting something close with this cuisine. But is this place my favorite in the Mexican market? No. read more

Dos Amigos has always been my favorite local Mexican restaurant. Of all the times I've been there, I've never had any issues with the quality of food or the staff. I've never had to wait long to be seated or to get my food. I love this place! read more

This used to be an awesome restaurant but lately it has just been horrible. Servers are rude management is out of touch and dismissive. After eating we decided to just go to the bar for a drink since the service was so poor and there was no bartender. A couple had been sitting there for a while and still haven't got a drink. One of the worst experiences I've had here and I doubt we'll be back. read more

Came in around 2p, pretty much had the place to ourselves. First thing is we smell a heavy cleaner smell,very overpowering. Then we get seated next to a cart of dirty dishes. My friend ordered a pina colada. Presentation was nice, but it was all liquid. Not frozen at all. So she sent it back and requested a strawberry daiquiri. It was frozen, but had the worst taste, like rubbing alcohol! It wasn't rum. It was just awful. Food was so-so. We visit this restaurant often when we visit our parents in Conover. I like the food immensely; special requests (yeah, I know, what Mexican food lover besides me *doesn't* like quacamole?) are no problem at all, and the service every time I've been there has been comparable to any 5-star restaurant anywhere. A group of 5 of us, three physically handicapped, went in on Sunday. The hostess seated us at the closest table she could "so you don't have to walk so far" around previously seated patrons. Stopped here today for lunch. Was looking for something different and found a gem instead. Stopped because the parking lot was pretty busy for a lunch crowd, always a good sign. Service was outstanding. Food was incredible good and very reasonable priced. Nice place with very friendly staff. Would definitely go back here in a hurry if I lived in the area. I am from Pennsylvania, and we don't have this kind of place up there. You truely have a great high quality Mexican restaurant at your finger tips. Now get out there and get to know the neighbors. My husband and I have been to this location several time because it is close to our house. Unfortunately today was the 1st time we had the worst service ever today. My husband and I got so full on chips and dip because it took almost an hour for our food, that we had to ask for take out boxes. Then it took three chances to get a take out box. Dos Amigos is ok for a quick grab for lunch and cheap, but is nowhere close to the best Mexican restaurant around the area. Most things are simple and very plain. Love coming here when I am craving for some Mexican. The staff here is friendly and the waiting staff is on point. My mom always gets their alcoholic beverage that is similar to the mangonada and loves it! On our recent visit she decided to try something similar to the mangonada drink but with limes instead of mango and she was not disappointed! I love their cheese and guacamole chip dip. I usually eat the tacos asada, which is amazing, but decided to try something different. I tried the burrito deluxe and it was delicious as well. It comes with the usual of everything (rice and beans, lettuce, pico de gallo, guacamole salad and etc) but all wrapped up in the burrito. I called this establishment to see if they offered call ahead seating. They said they did, took my name and the number in my party, and stated it would be 35 mins wait time. My group arrived before 35 mins, I gave the hostess our information, and was told we weren't listed. I explained to her that I'd called ahead and was told they do not do call ahead seating. I showed them the time stamp on my phone. Same story. So we left and won't be back.
