Corbin who initially came and talked to us was the most knowledgeable of the people we spoke with. Daren, Josh, and Thomas who came on the installation day were on time, polite, and efficient. They explained what they did and explained the system. Our home was left spotless. I was also thankful they were very good about did not harming my plants with the installation. They were very professional. Our initial considerations were: Price per product Local company Knowledge of staff Guarantee after installation We are very pleased.

I have now waited 1 week with no…read moreA/C, but 100 excuses as to why I can't get my A/C fixed sooner, I was quoted $7000-$9000 for only fixing the furnace, when I had a guy that could do it for $4000. I had told my warranty that we could use him instead and would be a win win for both of us, in the end they said that they were covering it, but that I had to pay extra fees for random stuff that was never talked about and my new total came out to $2620 (better than my other guy) only downside is that they don't have a certain part, so I have to wait for an email to get sent out to me in order to pay that amount before they can even order anything, I still haven't received that email. The part takes about another 2 weeks, plus need to see when they're available to come out and fix it... could be a total of 3 weeks plus the week I've been waiting to get a quote, so a month with no A/C, 2 babies under 3yrs old complaining all night because of the heat, WHAT A JOKE! Do not recommend either or!!!

    Bill Rhiners Plumbing company of Clive Iowa is going to lose a ton of business for treating me like…read moreI was insignificant... The Plumber Jess or Jessie dismissed my concerns last visit. He did a perfunctory drain clean and left on his first visit after I attempted to explain to him this wasn't just a clogged drain it's a larger issue. He laughed at me and blew me off. I had to call them out as it backed up AGAIN. I explained to him how he dismissed me last time and that the issue still persists and explained why I thought it was a bigger issue than was being addressed. He laughed at me AGAIN and said if you know so much about plumbing, why don't you do it yourself?!? Excuse me? I am simply explaining to you that this is a bigger issue than what you said it was. He laughed at me again and said what is your problem lady?!? You need mental help. I advised him you're my problem. You dismissed me last time, you're doing it again and now you're talking over me and down to me a second time. You deserve to be called out on your unprofessional behavior. He hung up on me, so I called the management and the head maintenance manager of my complex. My head maintenance man took me seriously and he said he also tried to call to request after hour service and could not get the service so he's no longer going to be using Bill Rhiner plumbing at all for ALL of their complexes after today's incident with them. Chad our head maintenance called me and said he called around and found somebody that could come to my apartment and that's when he told me he's no longer going to be using Bill Rhiners plumbing for the Truverse complexes. My apartment complex maintenance man has many apartments buildings he is in charge of. Bill Rhiners plumbing just lost a ton of future business. The Roto Rooter guy showed up on time and was very pleasant. He listened to everything I had to say very carefully. He took me seriously and said OK if you say it's a bigger problem I'll look for the problem and he found it. It has to do with how the pipes are designed, the backflow from the toilet to the bathtub is angled at a certain way they might have to completely redo the plumbing, so I was correct!!! So when the Roto Rooter plumber arrived I welcomed him, explained everything and he listened. This is Important. HE LISTENED The new plumber comes out after bringing in the big guns. He definitely took me seriously. He was in there for a good half an hour. The other Rhiner guy was here for only five minutes, but Roto Rooter was back there awhile. He comes out says it's all fixed, but there is a bigger issue and if it continues to happen, we're gonna have to check it out further and redo the plumbing, like completely redo the plumbing in the bathroom. It's a pipe issue from the tub to the toilet due to an Improper Slope: Pipes that are not properly angled (slope) can and will fail. I said thank you so much for taking me seriously and vindicating what I knew! That something was wrong. I knew there was a bigger problem. I know a lot of homeowners and will be sharing this review with them as well. I told the Roto Rooter guy I'm going to write a review for you guys may I have your name, sir and you know what he said?? JUSTICE - ironic. After looking at the Yelp and Google reviews I see I'm not alone in my dissatisfaction with Bill Rhiners plumbing.

Plumber came back tried to move faucet handle, forced it and it broke apart. He then said the handle was old and we could should replace it. The handle wasn't the problem, the shower valve is frozen in place, will not move, and after the plumber left the second time we noticed that the (?stem?) is pinched, like someone tried forcibly turning it with a wrench. So the shower still doesn't work, and I haven't had them come back.

    Beware of Golden Rule Plumbing Heating and Cooling!!!!!!! I had a tech come out to check out my…read moreHVAC system and quoted me $1000+ on a part that cost around $100 to replace. BUT that's not the WORST part. The tech proceeded to tell me it would not be smart to invest in a system that would need to be replaced soon and that he can get a "System Engineer" (Sales Person) out here in the next few minutes since he is in the area. How convenient? Later I realized I that the System Engineer Sales guys park around the corner on purpose just in case the Tech calls them out. They have a few of these system engineers sales guys that way when Techs are doing service calls, they always have a sales guy (system engineer) in the area. I end up agreeing to have the system engineer "sales guy" come and give me a bid since it did not cost any extra. They both went down in the basement where the furnace was located and started measuring everything it took about 10 minutes for them to complete their measurement. Once they completed measurement, they came upstairs and asked me if I had a few minutes to discuss a few options on their tablet. They both proceeded to tell me how terrible my system was and that it needs to be replaced ASAP. Keep in mind it has been working absolutely perfect all last summer and great through this winter so I was a little skeptical about it suddenly going bad. They told me I can replace the furnace, but replacing both the furnace and the air conditioner at the same time is more beneficial financially. They showed me roughly around six options starting anywhere between $13,000 all the way north of $18,000. After seeing all of my options with Golden Rule, I told the guys that I want to get a couple more bids from a few more HVAC places. This is where my blood begins to boil.... The sales guy, a.k.a. the system engineer started his sales pitch stating that "getting multiple bids is actually not beneficial for the client" and that "it's not like the old days where every HVAC company was honest". He then proceeded to pull out paperwork and small objects stating that they are the only ones that use these reliable parts/material. Which got me thinking how do all these other HVAC companies exist and are successful if Golden Rule is the only one that uses top quality material and parts. It was incredible high pressure but when they noticed I wasn't budging on getting multiple bids, they tried to push the repairs down my throat just to walk away with something!!!!! When I declined, they ended up leaving very bothered and kept insisting that after I get the other quotes to call them and give them another chance..... I ended up calling two more HVAC companies to come and check out my system one being Schaal and the other being Des Moines Comfort and to my surprise, it was a completely different story. There was nothing wrong with my HVAC system as they showed me the air coming in and the air going out the temperature difference. Only one small piece had to be replaced and it was a couple hundred dollars. Please keep this in mind next time you need help with HVAC, and I can only imagine how many people thought that their systems were bad and ended up buying a whole new system from Golden Rule for tens of thousands of dollars. Always call multiple companies!
