I love the fact that the trail leads you directly behind the waterfall. It's so cool & refreshing up there. It's totally worth visiting on a sunny or rainy day. There's a café on the hotel terrace, as well as an indoor lounge with a restaurant. Many people were on the terrace enjoying a snack while viewing the waterfall and lake. We walked around the historical rooms and lounge of the hotel. It truly is a step back into the late 19th century. It was also cool to see the Giessbach funicular car traveling up the track from Lake Brienz. It's the oldest abt switch railway design dating back to 1879. Neat! I'd say it's worth a visit for the Nature Park. There are so many different trails that lead you to Iseltwald, Schweibenalp, Axalp, Brienz, and Bramisegg from the park. It's such a scenic drive up there as well. I can only imagine how beautiful it must be when viewing it all from a ferry on Lake Brienz. We enjoyed our visit here. It was peaceful & relaxing.

During the day you'll see a trolley that transports guests up and down to a ferry on the lake. My only note is that the comfort factor may not be quite as high as some other places, but the charm more than makes up for it. The buffet breakfast was what dreams are made of. Cheeses from local pastures, honey straight off the comb, fresh pastries, the best coffee and espresso--and that's just a few of my favorites.
