What a charming restaurant! The ambiance inside is lovely and our server was friendly. We ordered the lamb, lentil soup, and the Rosti. All were very good, but i think my favorite was the lentil soup. It had such great flavor and the dense chewy bread they brought with it was delicious. I had a bite of my sisters fondue and i loved it as well. I'd love to come back and try other things off of their menu. read more

So yummy and very glad we came by! We got the Raclette and the veal, and ended our meal with a banana split. The Raclette was so yummy! The veal was good, but I loved the tomatoes that came with it. They were just bursting with flavor. The banana split was exactly that but I kinda wished there was some hot fudge or something on it. Came here a few times during our stay - food is fantastic, and the staff are lovely. They took care of our large wedding party (35+) for both a pizza night, and a fondue dinner. Both were wonderful, and the house wine isn't to be passed up! Came back for separate meals because of the ambiance and food quality - the mixed salad, daily soups, desserts, and gluhwein kept us stopping by. Will absolutely return on future trips. Despite being the only game in town, the food is quite delicious and filling. Many of the places I've had even in Zurich wasn't nearly as filling. The prices are pretty reasonable for Switzerland. WOW would be an understatement. We came here two nights in a row because we loved the experience so much, something we don't usually do when traveling because we like to try new things. Both nights we ordered the soup of the day - a delicious onion and cheese soup. We tried the fondue, burger, and lamb dish as well. Everything was great. The server recommended a drink for us to try after we asked for a recommendation for something sweet. I think it was called Hugo, with syrup from a flower. AMAZING. The service was fantastic, everyone was friendly and upbeat (something we did not experience in Germany or Austria). They even told us when paying with card to choose the local currency and not to convert it to USD, saving us money. We have been traveling Europe for 2 weeks and no one has ever told us that. We will be returning to this beautiful part of the world and when we do, we will visit this restaurant again! read more

If you drive a little further through the quaint town of Lauterbrunnen towards Stechelberg, you will find a traditional Swiss restaurant called Weidstübli. This log-cabin-style restaurant screams "Switzerland" with its flower boxes and gingham curtains. Inside, big wooden tables with old-fashioned Old World chairs grace the dining room. We sat down in the main dining room and ordered some wine. When I inquired about vegan options, they were not so excited to accommodate, so I wouldn't rate this restaurant as very vegan friendly. I went ahead and ordered the two items that seemed safely vegan. The first entree served was the Rosti -- shredded, fried potatoes without the egg. This dish, although simple, was very tasty (and very oily). I liked the pickle in the shape of a heart -- that was a nice touch. I was pretty full after that, but I also ordered a large Mixed Salad. Loaded with cabbage, greens, tomatoes, corn, and peppers, it was quite tasty. I topped it with oil and vinegar as the dressing. One thing I will say is that the service left much to be desired. The lady who took our order made a rude comment when my friend apologized to me for ordering meat. She commented that he should be able to order whatever he wants. How is that her business? I've never heard a server say anything like that and I was so taken aback that she would insert herself into our conversation that I just didn't say anything. All was better once outside though because you can't be upset with mountains and waterfalls around you. I'd eat there again, but it definitely isn't my first choice in this small city. read more

This is by far the best place we ate while visiting Lauterbrunnen and the Jungfrau Region. The restaurant is adorable, the staff friendly, and the food was excellent. All of the reviews that mentioned the very large portion sizes weren't kidding. There were 4 of us, and we could have easily shared 2 meals. We ordered 2 servings of fondu and 2 meals resulting in a lot of leftovers. I would recommend ordering less than you think you need... you can always order more if it's not enough! Also, make a reservation! We got lucky and they were able to get us in on the same day, but this cozy restaurant books up quickly. read more

Have been here on a couple of occasions. Fondue is very good but the pizza is surprisingly much better. Outside seating is nice but the tables are too close together. Inside seating is great and the service seems more responsive when you are inside. read more

We were a little apprehensive about going to dinner at a restaurant in a campground (Camping Jungfrau), but we had walked past it on a hike earlier in the day and noticed it was packed with people! Our hotel made reservations for us, and we quickly learned why it was so popular. Our waitress spoke wonderful English and was very helpful describing the menu. My husband ordered a beer and I found a really refreshing hard cider called Ramseier Suure Moscht. For our main course, we both ordered varieties of Swiss Rosti - think a bed of hash browns with endless topping possibilities (mine included a perfectly cooked fried egg on top). The portion sizes are huge; we could have definitely split an entree, but we had been hiking all day so it was nice to have a large meal. There were lots of families and a kids' menu ready at the hostess stand, so I think this would be great for children as well as adults. read more

The place is tucked away in middle of Lauterbrunnen valley near the camping junction. The place is a cool Swiss chalet style. We had bratwurst , roaring, fondu and cheese pizza. Food and service were awesome!!! Highly recommended if you are visitng Lauterbrunnen. read more

We were so disappointed in the food. It was greasy and way overcooked. When we tried to point out to the staff that the food was burnt, they just couldn't have cared any less. The service was slow. If you have a couple of hours to spend money for poor food and service, then this is the place. read more
