Thank you Jesus for letting us stumble upon this restaurant! We took a cable car up to Murren and explored the town that was closed for the most part. We were STARVING and what called our attention was the magnificent aroma that lingered in the air just outside the restaurant. Plus, it was freezing and drizzling so we wanted to take a quick break before heading back to our Airbnb. Their menu might as well've been a novel because it had so many pages (overwhelmed with options but I prefer the variety.) ol Idk if you guys would agree with me, but Swiss cheese in Switzerland, HITS DIFFERENT! It's the absolute best and you can totally tell that the cows are the happiest in Switzerland LOL! It shows, trust me. We tried the fondue and holy sh*t, amazing. Dip your burger, your fries, and anything within reach. You won't regret it. Our meal was just fantastic. Yes, a little bit expensive but in my opinion, well worth it. Also, as though my experience wasn't spectacular enough, as we were exiting the restaurant it started snowing. My first snow encounter!!! I was overjoyed. The best Swiss experience!

    Food, glorious food!

Swiss food in the heart of the mountains - what a concept ; ) Though busy, the food was good and the views to die for! Beer's not bad either! Outdoor seating so dress for the temperature. It does cater to tourists but that is not a negative in this case.

Melted Swiss on bread with ham and fried egg

We came here for lunch after reading about it in Rick Steve's book. We started out outside, but it started storming, so they made room for us to sit inside. I had the melted Swiss cheese on bread with ham and a fried egg.. it was tasty but SO big and filling! My husband had the pork sausage and ate every bit of it. Such a great little place for an authentic Swiss meal in Murren.

    Fondue

The waitress we had was polite and friendly while the food was fresh and delicious. I had the pancake soup and my wife enjoyed their green salad for starters. Our main course was fondue with bread and we added potatoes. The waitress taught us how to eat this traditional meal and we both loved it. It probably would have been plenty with just bread and cheese. It has a rather small dining area so I would recommend making reservations.

    Back dining room

I make no bones about it, this is only a three star restaurant, but given the options in Murren, it is a 4-star. Sadly, they don't carry the same menu summer and winter with regards to what us tourists consider Swiss food: example... the only fondu served in spring/summer is plain cheese because the Swiss don't eat fondu in the summer. In the winter, the menu has half a dozen fondu dishes (our favorite is with fresh herbs - yuuuum!) They have high chair (not sure if they have more than one) and coloring pencils and placemats for kids. We have eaten here many times over the last decade and have never been unhappy with a meal. Prices are getting up there as of 2017 though, so I feel it used to be a better value. Recommended nonetheless.

There are not many spots as beautiful as this to sit down after training and hiking and taking a gondola. As the sun set , we enjoyed delicious cheese fondue, beer and salad while enjoying a stunning view of the alps. Nice people, good food.!!

The service is friendly and the food is good, and we felt like we got a great deal on lunch (see below). I definitely recommend going up Harder Kulm and stopping here for a bite and a view. Tip: Get the combination tram ticket! The tram alone up Harder Kulm is 30 Euros, and the tram + lunch combo is 36. Otherwise, you'll pay 22.50 for the same lunch if you wait till you get to the top. There are only 2 lunch choices with the deal but they're both good.

Be ready though to drop the hefty 28 CHF for a round trip ride up and down the cable car. **if you "like" them in Facebook you get 50% off but you have to PRINT IT OFF! Really? Who the heck is going to do that?! Anyway, other than that annoyance, the cable cars can get tight so give yourself some extra time if you want to sit. We had ice cream at the top. Unbelievable views!! Bring cash for quick drinks at the bar. Credit card accepted at the restaurant. Waitresses were pretty fast. Got a coke and a "mini" 3 scoop ice cream (7.5CHF) regular size was 9.5 CHF. Very tasty but the ice cream isn't that blow your mind to pay that much! I guess you're paying for the view. Seats get taken fast but moved fast for us. We tried to rush back to make a cable car so our time was a bit rushed. I would have liked to spend more relaxation time up there. Wish I could go back and bring my parents!

It is a small and quant restaurant situated on the water, very welcoming and perfectly suited to our needs. Our server, Marc, was exceptional. He was friendly, funny, and kind, making our experience only that much better. Escargot, served in a non-traditional sauce, not my favorite but still good. Schnitzel, with steamed vegetables, and French fries nestled in their own fry basket. Perfectly cooked and delicious. "Felche" Müllerinnen ~Art (white fish in butter) cooked to perfection served with a house salad. Egli Gebacken (Perch) traditional fish of Switzerland, lightly battered and fried, served with tartar sauce and salted potatoes, a small salad and vegetables. Excellent. Cordon Bleu~veal cutlet filled with ham and cheese, perfectly crisped and served with lemon, a side of varietal vegetables, and French fries. Everything was delicious and devoured to completion. Veal in curry sauce with white rice. Tasty and perfectly done. Rösti stuffed with veal in a mushroom sauce, exceptional dish and shouldn't be missed. No dessert, simply stuffed like my Cordon Bleu. Thank you to Marc for making our experience highly memorable, you are a gem. How lucky are we that we can stroll to the restaurant and enjoy their offerings? I'd say very! Side tip: get the fish and chips for 29 francs and you get a token to visit the dock where Crash Landing on You was filmed.
