Caprice is white table cloth dining without pretension, just friendly service and tasty food! We came for a later dinner so, unfortunately, we missed out on any of the views. We did, however, get everything else - our friendly waitress kicked things off nicely with a few recommendations, a recital of the specials, and a smile that never left her face. Finally deciding on food, finding it hard NOT to get the pizza (which came highly recommended by the waitress), we enjoyed the calming yet semi-lively atmosphere. I can see this place being VERY reserved with the wrong people dining but we lucked out with some personable folks. When our food arrived we dug in and wasted no time cleaning our plates - everything was tasty! The portions, however, left a bit to be desired as they were a bit on the small side. For example, my fish was VERY thin (think skirt steak) and I'm just not used to that. Alas, we left satisfied. If you are in or around Wegen then you'd be doing yourself a disservice by sleeping on Caprice. Give it a shot but don't come starving... read more

*make sure you book reservations. Even for a Tuesday night they were full. I booked my ressie through their website for 6pm since it was one of the options. But I received an email saying they don't open until 6:30pm for dinner but I could come to the bar at 6 for drinks. * So FYI, the restaurant opens at 6:30 but the bar is open earlier for drinks* Hostess and our waitress were friendly. Ambiance is nice and clean. The view of the mountains through the windows are amazing and would prob be even more amazing from the patio seating. Unfortunately the weather was freezing and it looked like it was going to rain so they weren't seating anyone out there. * Our homemade ravioli stuffed with beef cheeks in sage butter and pectorino romano appie was yummy. There are three decent size pieces that were fine for the hubs and I to share. I recommend! * Hubs had the chicken breast cooked sous-vide in duck fat with balsamic jus, thyme risotto, zucchini and peppers. Oh wow this was sooo good. The combo of flavors plus the tender chicken, delicious. I recommend! * I had the homemade fettuccine with Nolly Prat garlic cream sauce, pan fried shrimps, pan fried scallops and spinach. It was a bit salty but I like salty so I was ok at first. But at the end I was tired of the salty and def felt swollen after. Haha The seafood was cooked well and the noods were al dente at least. I unfortunately wouldn't get this again and def wouldn't recommend this to anyone with high blood pressure. Yikes! Didn't get pizza but saw the table next to us get some and it looked delish! They have a lot of pizza varieties on the menu to choose from so it must be a specialty. read more

For starters, you can't beat the views from their terrace seating! Waitresses were very attentive. The food was delicious!! My husband had the beef ravioli and I had the pumpkin gnocchi. Would definitely recommend making reservations here if you are visiting Wengen. read more

Came in on a chilly evening to get takeaway pizza. The diavolo and margherita were delish. Definitely our favorite pizza in Wengen! They only do pizza take away for now, the hostess told us they don't have packaging to do takeaway for any other menu items. read more

This spot was delicious. More of a fancy vibe, in a hotel, white table cloth. Make a reservation too. Our waitress was nice and accommodating, the only place I could order an espresso martini it was delicious. Plan to spend more for your dinner at a place like the Caprice, but everything we got was very good. Best meal we've had in Switzerland and been here a week. The beef lasagna is a cross between a Greek Mousaka and traditional Italian lasagna. Salad with greens and pickled vegetables. Ravioli and pizza good as well. read more

I don't often leave reviews, but since this restaurant had only a few, I felt compelled. First, they were super accommodating in helping us get a reservation even though I initially gave them the wrong dates. Next, the view is amazing. Amazing! The staff could not have been more attentive to the people in the restaurant. I even saw them bring a blanket to a customer who was sitting on the balcony who was cold as the sun began to set. Finally, the food was fantastic. Truly great food and one of the best meals we had in Switzerland. The presentation and taste were top notch. (The only one that rivaled it was a Michelin star restaurant in Zurich.) And on top of all that, the price is reasonable considering how great the experience was. Could not recommend Caprice more. Go out of your way to dine here, it's worth it. read more

Delicious...our go to spot in Wengen during our trip. Ended up here almost every night. Stunning views, attentive service, friendly servers and delicious food/drinks. Every dish we had during our multiple nights there tasted great and the presentation was superb as well. Also kid friendly (we don't have children yet) but we observed them serve multiple families including providing the children with blankets during chilly nights when seated on the terrace. The bar here also had live music on Wednesday night with a great two person band playing classic hits which made for an enjoyable time while sipping one of their cocktails. read more

Food was excellent. The asparagus soups were delicious. The Swiss chicken breast was well cooked. The ravioli with burrata was tasty. Had a good bottle of Swiss Chardonnay. Service was disjointed at best. Once we received the food did not see waitstaff again. read more

It took several attempts to make a reservation here and, in retrospect, I wish we had given up before we were successful. The host/server that sat us was extremely rude. Once seated, we had to wave down our server after quite a while to give our drink order and get water. Anytime we needed anything we had to wave him down several times to get him to stop as he generally tried to speed past us without making any eye contact. He acted very bothered when we asked for water and wine after sitting for twenty minutes at a table with empty glasses, as well as when we asked to order dessert. I don't know if they are understaffed at the moment, but the two servers that seemed to be working the entire restaurant couldn't handle the volume, or more likely didn't care to. They seemed miserable to be working there and should find another type of employment other than ruining people's dining experiences. The food tasted pretty good, but not good enough to suffer through such poor service. I do not recommend. read more

Absolutely fabulous dining experience. We stayed at the hotel and figured we'd eat elsewhere for dinner. Big mistake. We finally dined here the last night of our stay and I regretted not eating here more. I ordered the tasting menu of the day. The meal was outstanding. I had a roast beef tartare appetizer that was to die for. It was followed by a salmon entree that was cooked to perfection and some tiramisu for dessert. I don't eat tiramisu normally, because I don't like it. However, this was so good I'd eat it any day, it was melt in your mouth yummy as was the rest of the meal. My husband said his pizza was the best he'd had in Switzerland. We loved staying at the hotel and the one dinner we had here we loved it too. Eat here, (stay here too if you wish) you won't regret it. read more
