    Chocolate mousse and apricot brule
    Andrew K.

This restaurant is a fine dining experience. To remain brief I'm just going to list bullet points. - Ambiance 10/10: Top 5 places i have ever eaten. I would not wear shorts or tank tops, you will feel out of place. T-shirt and pants is fine though. - Food 10/10: charcuterie board was extensive and featured several of the best cheeses and deli style meats I've had. We split an entree after that which was the chicken. Very good, ended with 2 desserts: chocolate mousse and apricot Brulé which were smaller portioned but quality - Drinks 7/10: Blackberry Gin was super good. We had several, tried a few other drinks that we didn't love as much but overall none of them were bad. - Service 10/10: You will feel very well looked after and recommendations were great.

Food was good . Ambiance was phenomenal & the service was great. I read the review before dining and decided to take a leap and try it out myself. 8/10 overall. Would come back.

Here's a version that feels more direct, more personal, and less polished-for-brochure:…read more I stay in a lot of luxury hotels around the world. Asia, the Middle East, Europe, the US. Enough that I think I have a pretty good barometer for what is genuinely five-star and what is just marketed that way. Victoria Jungfrau in Interlaken is the real thing. What stood out wasn't one flashy moment. It was the consistency and attention to detail from every single member of staff I interacted with. That kind of alignment doesn't happen by accident. It reflects culture and leadership. There's something here that feels like old-school European excellence in hospitality. Service that is confident, calm, precise, and not overly theatrical. It feels intentional. Lara at reception was excellent. Professional, efficient, and warm without being overdone. Check-in was smooth and polished, but never stiff. Chantal at concierge was exceptional. She noticed me every time I walked into the hotel. Not occasionally. Every time. She remembered what she had arranged, followed up naturally, and clearly paid attention. That level of detail is rare, even at top-tier properties. It made a difference. I genuinely felt that she wanted my experience in Interlaken to be great, not just adequate. In a world where many luxury hotels rely on branding and design to carry the experience, Victoria Jungfrau delivers through people. That's harder to manufacture. And it shows.

Singers at a nearby restaurant serenaded every night for dinner. Horses and buggies were taking riders around the area. Online reservations through Expedia and check-in were easy. The lobby is beautiful with a bar, lounging area, and even shopping. It feels like a casino. There are three elevators; I only had to wait once because of a large group that just arrived. I was in a single room with a nice bathroom (shower) and balcony. I would have liked fluffier pillows and one more towel plus washcloths for showering. I also made reservations to eat at their awesome restaurant (Top of the Met) with panoramic views and gourmet food. I wish I could get the recipe for their sauce that came with the roasted chicken. I could drink cups of it. Unfortunately I wasn't able to try out their sauna or fitness center. Next time!!

Yelp Review 2026 #112:…read more A short walk from Interlaken Ost making Carlton Europe Adults Hotel a convenient location. No kids allowed was beautiful. There are plenty of shops and restaurants in this area. This hotel has a popular and always crowded burger restaurant - be sure to allow enough time for a long wait or just order to-go. Check-in took about 10-15 minutes as they are very thorough with the information they give you and plus, we had sent our luggage here ahead of time so they had to fetch our luggage from their luggage storage. They also gave us a refreshing welcome drink: cold herbal tea. Think Ricola but in iced tea form. The place has character - you'll see old typewriters as decors, the room keys are heavy and old school . It's also a pet-friendly hotel. There are rules: keep the wooden floors dry, be sure to dry the bathroom floor so it doesn't flood into the wooden floor. We got a room on the top floor with lots of windows. It's super spacious. We enjoyed the cool breeze of natural air by opening the windows. The bathroom has the usual stuff plus a weighing scale so I can see how much weight I gained from eating all the chocolates and cheese everyday, You can leave the heavy room key in the numbered shelf in front of the front desk if you're leaving the hotel to explore.

I don't recall seeing elevators so I don't know if they have them. The hotel is about a 3 minute walk from the east train station, which was incredibly convenient because we got in late the night we arrived. Staff was friendly but there was a mix up about breakfast. We didn't reserve our room with breakfast included but a woman in the dining area said it was automatically included. Turns out we had to pay extra upon check out so that staff member gave our wrong info. It wasn't a huge deal but it's worth noting. This hotel checked all of our boxes for our short stay in Interlaken.

If you're planning a stay in Interlaken on a budget but still want comfort and friendly vibes,…read moreBackpackers Villa Sonnenhof is a good hostel to use as a base. The rooms and facilities are well-maintained overall. The staff are super friendly. My sister became good friends with the guy who cleans up the kitchen area at night. It's an excellent value for money. Breakfast and bus passes are included, although we didn't use the bus passes much since we have the Swiss travel pass. The bus stops right in front of the hostel, and very convenient. They mark any food in the fridge & pantry left over by guests who already checked out with a free sticker so that current and new arrivals can have them if they wish. A pretty good deal, minimizing waste, and helping out current guests. Having fully equipped kitchen was great. The only downside is if you have roommates who are not neat and/or respectful. Our shower was flooded the first day we arrived by one roommate who was checking out that day. But you can't really choose roommates if you're staying in a fully booked hostel.

I think this is a great choice if you're looking for a budget accommodation and don't mind the hostel environment. Having 4 people so you can book out a whole room though was definitely helpful for us since you never know who you'll get, and we didn't want to deal with that coin toss. PROS - Extremely friendly and helpful staff. We had a very large group checking in, split across multiple rooms, and with people checking out at different times. But the staff was more than happy to assist us! - Plenty of lockers to store your belongings. We were able to do so while waiting for our check-in since we arrived a few hours earlier than our check-in time. - Lockers available inside each room too for you to lock your things up if you're sharing a room with strangers - Lots of common area space including ping pong tables, kitchen and dining area, laundry, breakfast area (with complimentary breakfast), patios, and a kids room. - Comfortable beds with an outlet and shelf even for the top bunk - Close to a bus stop and within walking distance of the train station CONS - Only 4 washers and dryers so you may have to wait like we did when trying to do laundry late at night. Quite a few people weren't the best about taking their clothes out on time either. - Shower situation wasn't the best. There was a flimsy shower curtain, but as soon as you turned the shower on, it would blow inwards and stick to you the entire time. Because of this it didn't do a great job keeping water in either so the floor would get pretty wet. - We came in July and the room was very warm even at night. We did try keeping our window open but since there was no screen, we were worried about bugs and only kept it open a crack. Overall, could use some minor improvements but I think that's the hostel experience. Great for travelers on a budget!

I arrived when most tables were full and yet was quickly seated within 10 minutes. The servers were all super friendly and as I knew already what I wanted to eat, it was choosing my beer flight from Hüsi brewery that was "hard." I ordered a flight with the Helles, Hefeweizen, Strawberry Cider (sadly they were all tapped out it's so popular, so I went with traditional hard cider) and the Double IPA. I love beer. Especially when it's served super cold on a hot and humid day with exercise. There wasn't a beer (or cider) in this bunch that I did not LOVE. Mind you, if I wasn't so tired and a lightweight, I would have tried more of the offerings on the menu. The Helles was so light, clean and crisp-as it should be. The Hefeweizen had all the right aromas and flavors. The Cider was very good: not too dry, but definitely not sweet. The double IPA was also excellent. I am not a huge fan of IPAs (often taste like the pith of a grapefruit to me due to the Hops), but I do like doubles and triples and this one hit the spot, with a gentle citrusy taste and crisp mouthfeel. While I waited for my ribs, I saw a couple near me got the Schweinhaxe, aka Pork Knuckle. Mind you, this is one of my favorite Bavarian Dishes that I can also get in Rhineland and it never disappoints. The one I saw served (and took a photo of), was the LARGEST I have ever seen. The skin looked perfectly brown and crisped and the meat was fork tender (from my observation). The German man seated between the couple and me, said it was the largest he'd ever seen as well. It looked amazing and the couple offered me a taste, but I politely declined-I knew I had a large meal ahead of me. I joked that it must have been some large pig to have had a knuckle that large. My ribs came and they were piping hot (no complaint). The sauce was excellent, as it was tomato forward and not sweet with a hint of spice. The ribs themselves were PERFECTLY cooked. I know someone else who reviewed said theirs were tough (I ordered them anyway) and they were so tender and moist that they literally fell off the bones. The coleslaw was vinegar based (THANK YOU) and refreshing. The fries were perfectly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. If you can't tell by now, I loved everything about this meal. It was also clear I was starving because I inhaled the entire plate of ribs and downed the beers in about 20 minutes. Not very European style of eating, but hunger took precedence. The music was fantastic: a lot of 90s grunge and also some U2, a few other cool bands that ahem, you know, was from my youth. The servers hustle and do a thorough job of being both friendly and helpful. One stopped to have a quick chat with a couple and their cute dog. Two came by to see if my meal was okay. I watched them rush around with food, drinks, and also two different servers cleaned a table after a couple left (the one cleared and cleaned while the other cleaned it again even though it was bare)-so there's no hygiene issues here. I was surprised to see the place cleared out by around 19:15-I expected it to be slammed all night. It was a Monday though and I'm sure the late night crowd was still napping. I would have loved to sit and drink another one of the amazing beer offerings, but as I said, I was beyond tired and worried someone would have to roll me back to my hotel, an 11-minute walk away. Lastly, the prices are unreal for this area. My meal, beer flight and 10% tip (come on, people, 5-10% is welcome in Switzerland-don't forget to show your appreciation), came to 51CHF. That's a bargain. I would absolutely come back here in heartbeat. It's truly a gem. Now to see if they sell their beers in the COOP or Migros so I can take them home...
