Funrental Interlaken - Cheese Storage on a swiss alp on Daniels ATV tour in Interlaken

Mountains? Check. Lakes? Check. Perfect setting for some ATV-ing? ... CHECK. Interlaken,…read moreSwitzerland is as close to heaven as an outdoor enthusiast can get; hiking, climbing, rafting, paragliding, ATV-ing.. sigh. Pure beauty, serenity and a side of adrenaline.. and if you're not from here, it also comes with one awesome tour guide: Daniel! He took us up in the mountains over a 3 hour long Quad (ATV for us Americans) trip. Most of our drive was on paved roads, some wider and straighter than others.. there were definitely lots of steep hairpin turns (fun!).. These gave my stepdaughter lots of much needed practice for if she ever wants to go atv-ing with us again, as this was her first time. The trip took us through beautiful nature scenery.. lots of trees, little streams, a couple of small farmer villages with chalet style homes and the occassional cow here and there. Personally, the rougher the terrain and the faster the machine, the better of a time I have. I may look girly, but I just hide my down 'n dirty adrenaline junkie side very well. From this standpoint, the short offroad portion of the trip was probably my favorite part! Since it started raining, this offroad rocky terrain (downhill) was nice and muddy-slippery. If you're not an experienced rider this may give you a run for your money. My first-time riding stepdaughter wasn't too enthused, but my husband and I had a blast and went up and down a couple of times. The real treat (stepdaughter will agree) after the off road fun was a surprise visit to a working, super small scale dairy farm that makes cheese and other goodies. Cows.. up front and close, fluffy, pettable cows. Oh, and lunch! Whoop. By the time we made it back down to Interlaken (the city itself is beautiful) we were soaked and muddy down to our underwear. Turns out it rains here in July - lesson learned. Daniel's wife came out with towels so that we could change into something dry.. Talk about hospitality and friendly service! Everything was awesome and so worth the money. Which, comparing it to other places such as Colorado, is extremely reasonable. Honestly, this couldn't have been more fun and Daniel couldn't have been friendlier. Rain or no rain, I'd return in a heartbeat!

Yelp Review 2026 #125:…read more Harder Kulm was only a 5-minute walk from our hotel. The front desk told us it's a nice place to visit and gave us a discount coupon for 15% off tickets. We got a 50% discount for tickets because of the Swiss Travel Pass so we used that instead. Be sure to get roundtrip tickets so you don't have to stand in line again to buy a ticket to go back down. It had been raining on and off the days we were in Interlaken. There's thick fog the afternoon we went. Normally, it's foggy in the morning and clears up in the afternoon. We went to the station to take the funicular to the top of the hill. It was a short 10-minute ride. It was raining and foggy but we stayed until it cleared up a bit. There's a restaurant, a viewing deck, a little park, some wooden sculptures. You can see both Thunersee and Brienzersee. I had already been to both in the morning so, I wasn't pressed about not having a clear view of the two lakes when I went to Harder Kulm.

Interlaken is well known for all of the activities for thrill-seekers. You can go whitewater…read morerafting, paragliding, and canyon swinging...all with the same company! For this trip, we decided to go canyon swinging in the Glacier Canyon with Outdoor Interlaken. Must be purchased ahead of time! Cancellation policy is pretty flexible with a full refund if cancelled 48 hours before your start time. It's kind of pricey but how often will you get an opportunity to jump and swing through a canyon? There's also an add-on for the GoPro footages but you can decide after swinging through the canyon, which is what we did. You can choose to be picked up in Interlaken or meet at least 5-10 minutes before your start time at Glacier Canyon. For safety reasons, you aren't allowed to bring anything with you unless you're able to zip it up in your pants. If you have prescription glasses, you can bring them and they provide a little baggy to put it in while you swing. Everything is stored in plastic bins which you can pick up outside of the canyon when you're done. The experience starts with a short van ride up to the top of the canyon. Our guide was really friendly and knew what he was doing in terms of safety so it made us feel safer and calmer. The swing itself was like nothing I've done before! It's very nerve wracking when you're at the top and I think the anticipation just makes it a lot worse. The drop itself is only a couple of seconds but feels so much longer. Some of my friends think they blacked out for a second because they don't even remember looking at the canyon while swinging! I would allocate about 2 hours for the experience, especially if you're doing this with a large group. You don't need to wait for the strangers in your group to finish swinging. And afterwards, the canyon is free for you to enjoy! We were able to run out to grab our stuff, grab the complementary drink that was part of the swinging ticket, and go back into the canyon.

I never imagined I'd ever jump into a canyon, but when my friend sent us a link to the Glacier…read moreCanyon Swing with Outdoor Interlaken, it seemed like a one time opportunity so I thought why not? Immediate regret after agreeing to this because I was nervous from the moment it was booked, all the way up until the experience was actually over. On the day of our reservation, we were unfortunately a few minutes late due to issues with delayed/cancelled buses, but luckily they waited up for us. The whole process was smooth with getting us checked in and up to the jump point. When you watch the video or look at other people jump from down below, the free fall distance looks so short. But it feels SO long when you're the one jumping! I've gone skydiving multiple times before but never found that scary. This, on the other hand, was so nerve wracking, and I'm not even scared of heights at all. I think the free fall was so scary for me that I squeezed my eyes shut, since I don't remember seeing anything during the free fall. I'd imagine seeing the floor get closer and closer to me would be terrifying. Once the free fall portion is over, you then do a few wide swings back and forth across the canyon before they throw a rope out to you to pull yourself in. This part wasn't scary at all for me and was pretty relaxing as I got to take in the view. Once you're all done, you're free to go see the rest of the canyon area. Once we exited, we were given the option to purchase a video of our experience which got emailed to us a few days later. We also received a complimentary drink ticket that we were able to use next door. Overall, super scary but definitely a fun experience that I'd recommend for any thrill seekers. Outdoor Interlaken also offers a variety of other activities, so check them out for all your outdoorsy needs!

One-of-a-kind and thrilling experience!…read more As a first-timer paraglider I was definitely nervous but the guys and gals working at Twin Paragliding put you at ease. They are each very personable, each pilot has their own personality but each will make sure you feel completely safe. These guys are fun and enthusiastic and that helps you get excited pre-flight but also makes the time in the air that much more exciting. We met Twin Paragliding by the train station and they have a white van that takes you to the base camp at Interlaken. At base, you'll be fitted with shoes (should you not be wearing durable hiking boots) and after a few quick moments, you'll be back in the van headed up towards the mountain with all pilots in tow. On the ride up, Peter, who is super sociable, will introduce you to the paragliding experience and describe some of the beauty you'll be witnessing once at the highest point. The ride up alone is pretty breathtaking as the views just keep getting better and better the higher you go. On the van you'll choose which pilot you want to fly with and also sign the invoice papers. Then after about a 20 minute ride, you'll be at the launch point. On a clear day, its absolutely gorgeous with some snow scattered on the plains but with a clear view of Interlaken. You get set up fairly quickly and your pilot will equip you with the harness, helmet, and gloves. They'll then take some GoPro photos at the launch point and then you're ready to go. Listen to your pilot on how to take off because it can be tricky for first-timers. You'll want to lean forward, run as fast as you can, and run on solid ground because you'll be fighting the pull of the pilot and parachute. No matter what you do, don't stop! Then within a few steps of running you'll be off! It's an unbelievable feeling of flight as the air swoops under your legs and you become light as a feather. The pilot then smoothly swings the seat underneath you and you're in for a real treat. My pilot Dany had 22 years of flight experience so he operated a smooth ride. There will be points where you do some cool manuevers by catching the right thermals and definitely multiple opportunities to take photos and video. The whole experience is amazing and you'll be in air for a fair amount of time, definitely enough to see all of Interlaken and try out different flight patterns in air. I would say it takes a little over an hour all said and its worth every penny. Once you land, you'll head back to base camp and there your pilot will pull up your photos from the GoPro and so you'll be able to review immediately whether you want to purchase the photos. It costs 40CHF and worth it because how many times can you say you were soaring over the beautiful Interlaken? There are a lot of choices for paragliding in Switzerland. Twin Paragliding definitely felt like the best of the bunch. The pilots are cool and engaging and they all want you to have a great time. Like any lot, some pilots are more to your liking so you can ask ahead if say you want to do more manuvers in the air or you want a pilot who loves to take more photos. Never fear, Twin has a roster of over 20 pilots so you'll be in good hands no matter who you choose. There are even female pilots for those that feel more comfortable flying with a lady. All said I would recommend Twin Paragliding to anyone. It's a once-in-a-lifetime experience and you want to do it with people who make sure that experience is a great one.
