Skirt steak with asparagus, truffle fires and red wine sauce- love the description, didnt love the execution. Steak was too charred- blackened, turning it bitter and not good for people to consume meat blackened that way! Grill marks are one thing but this was too much black. Didnt taste good. Meat itself was also pretty flavorless and a bit chewy. Red wine sauce wasnt great, and I love almost all red wine sauces! Asparagus were cooked well. Also the fries- these are sysco food service fries. A restaurant at this caliber should do better. Go to the elm in new canaan, try their fries. And while youre at it, try to up your ingredient quality they way they do- no seed oils, etc. makes a huge difference and would play well with the greenwich crowd!

On weekends, they have a two-course lunch pre fixe, which has a wide variety of options to choose from, which was great. I chose: - Appetizer: Tuna Tartare - Main: Mushroom & Asparagus Risotto The restaurant wasn't full but the service was a bit slow. Especially after our appetizers, we had to wait quite some time for our main dish to be served. The dishes were well-presented, although not the best seasoned. The tuna tartare had too much soy sauce on it and you couldn't taste the tuna. The risotto, on the other hand, was a bit bland. Depending on your preference, I'd recommend trying other dishes.

I had the Ahi Nisciose Salad that was wonderful in every way! The dressing wasn't overly vinegary, It came with four huge chunks of ahi tuna. My date had the chicken paillard BLT and again magnificent as were the hand cut French Fries we shared! Our server Jaylene who was also our Maitre'd was a pleasure and extremely informative! Since it was a Sunday afternoon, there was a keyboard player helping with the already wonderful bistro ambiance! I shall keep coming back for years to come!

We started with some mocktails that were very good and the apple & pear salad that was also good. Our waitress also brought us some complimentary bread and herb butter. All good. But when my entree came it was so disappointing. I ordered the hanger steak cook medium. It was cooked to temp but had to be the chewiest steak Ive ever had. The steak knife wouldnt even cut through it. The knife basically ripped the steak apart. It also came with the largest broccolini I have ever seen. It was basically broccoli but ultimately was under cooked for how large the stalks were. I did try the desserts but they looked good.

I spoke to a woman in the bathroom and she said even if you don't have a reservation, you can always find a spot on the grass or chairs. There's plenty of room to hang out. Our server Les was incredible! You can tell when you have a great experienced waiter that is truly good at their job and love what they do! Pay him whatever he wants and never let him go! He truly made the dining experience above and beyond. I ordered the Sauvignon Blanc and he asked me if I wanted a glass or a bottle and I told him I couldn't drink a bottle because I had to drive home. He told me if I was gonna have two glasses. It would end up being about equal to the bottle price and that I could take the rest of the wine home! What a nice surprise, and the fact that he pointed out made me feel like he goes above and beyond for his customers! Now let's talk about the food! I was in a party of three and they had ordered the appetizer sandwich for the table which was gigantic! Both of the other guests love the sandwich, but I didn't try it because I do not like prosciutto. The truffle chips were fantastic; I'm still thinking about them and I didn't even know I liked truffle! I ate 90% of them. The portions are massive but in a good way because the food is exceptional! One guest was so full from the sandwich that she opted to not order an entrée I ordered the margarita flatbread and it had to be over a foot and a half long. I ended up taking half home and my husband ate it and said it was delicious as well. The other guest ordered the meatballs and I tasted them and they were quite delicious. By the time the meal was over we left with half a sandwich half a flatbread and some extra meatballs. For dessert: we got a llimoncello flute and I got the largest lemon beautifully presented with lemon sorbet! I told us I don't usually take pictures of my food, but this was photo worthy! The wine was one of my favorite Sauvignon Blanc that I've ever had in my life! We will definitely go back for the food and definitely will be purchasing the wine again! 4/5 food 10/5 for the service and ambience Thank you for a wonderful experience on a beautiful afternoon!
