I think this is the only 24 hr place in little old Walnut. Donut Tree has been here for as long as I can remember. I think they also supply the donuts for St. Lorenzo Ruiz Church's Sunday masses. Accursed Brian P. for reviewing this place and tempting me to go here -_- I noticed this place when I came to the plaza for the Aloha Hawaiian BBQ next door but I didn't pay too much attention to it. Now that I have sampled a taste of the doughy deliciousness, it's always in the back of my mind now. -Interior Right when you walk in (the only non-locked door) the counter will be on your immediate left where you can gawk and gaze at the selection of doughnuts. They have the prices listed above and behind the counter but it's relatively cheap. The place has pictures that been around for a while because the light has taken it's effect over time. They have some seating pass the counter where you can sit and enjoy the dough delights. -Service I only ordered an apple fritter so it didn't take long, the bakeries are sitting in front of you, it's not too difficult (even for the old man working) to pick which donuts you want. He has a bit of an accent so speak clearly or he might not understand. -Food zomgwtfbbqsauce is the immediate thought that came to my mind when I looked at it. The fritter is freaking huge and it can practically count as a meal, not the healthiest choices but nonetheless it's quite filling. Split the fritter or prepare to feel the guilt that follows when you eat it by yourself. *raises hand* I sure did There is an assortment of doughnut shops around where I live but I dislike the local Winchell's for some reason. I wouldn't mind a drive for some good treats, or perhaps I should jog here to compensate for the calories. Okay, great donuts and donut holes, but also open 24 hours! How great is that? I was always up until the wee hours of the morning whenever I visited my ex-boyfriend in Walnut, so on my way back home (at like 3-5am) I liked to stop by and get a donut for the short drive back to Orange County. The original glazed is fantastic, mmm, I'm drooling in my mouth at the thought of these. And the guy behind the counter is so nice. You need to try their fresh out of the oven blueberry donuts! They melt in your mouth! Kevin makes them and they are ready around 10:30 PM. The first time we stopped by they recommended them. So glad I followed it. My friend was going to wait until the morning but we persuaded him to try it hot. He liked it so much he went back in and bought more. They are still good cold but hot is the best. The place has a good selection of seating for a mom and pop shop. Surprised it isn't crowded. we went here to check their mochi donut since they have a sign saying they have a neww item. then when we went inside the old guy is giving me attitude. then the old guy cannot even understand what flavor we are trying to get. and then when we went home and tried their "mochi donut" it doesn't even taste like mochi at all. it is just a donut that they formed like a mochinut. but it doesn't really taste like one! i ended up just throwing it and like throwing money. dont ever buy their mochinut if you don't wanna get disappointed. lol read more

The service is prompt and sweet, though I'd argue thats part of the small town donut shop feel. Our bakers name, Kevin, was able to give us great guidance and was especially helpful for pairing donuts with beverages. Everything you've heard is 100% true and then some!
