No doubt Donut Palace has the best donuts at the most reasonable price In this City. Always a line of people to purchase the goodies. Unfortunately they are often closed for extended periods with no prior notice. The customer service is absolutely horrible. It becomes infuriating to drive across town only to find a closed sign on the door while the web sight says open. Once again the sign in the door says closed for 6 weeks. I think it's time for an update from 6 years ago! Donut Palace still remains my #1 donut spot in Rutherford County! I'm not a huge donut fan but the ones here are so light and fluffy, I can eat more than one without getting an upset stomach lol. I like to go a little later around 9am ish because they have their cinnamon roll donuts! Around 5am when they're first open they usually do not have them. Their apple fritters are to die for!!! You must try them even if you're not an apple fritter fan, because let me tell you, I hate apple pies, fritters, etc...but everyone raves about them so I had tried them one day and have been hooked! The original glaze are also our go to! The service here is always great! The older couple are always super friendly! Their son is very friendly too! Their entire family is great! Good people! Really? Please fix the hours posted on your door to accurately reflect when you are actually open. We made the 40-minute trek in hopes of experiencing freshly baked donuts but were sorely disappointed. A friend shared a donut with me today and it was INCREDIBLE. I left and headed to Donut Palace to check it out at 12:30pm not expecting a lot of selection available. This place has been around for about 10 years...sadly I am just discovering them now. Even at this late hour there was a lot to choose from and I loved that they box half-dozen versus dumping them in a bag. I picked up a half-dozen assorted and noticed they also have Kolaches so I grabbed one to snack on. The Kolaches was really good and lasted all of three bites. One of the benefits of being single, you can take a bite out of each donut to sample them. So when I got home I did a taste test and I'm telling you...these were the softest and best flavored donuts I have had in a very long time. Not overly sweet, great flavors (devils food, cinnamon, maple, raspberry, etc.), not greasy, and so light and soft. The service was quick and the lady who took care of me was very nice. This is now my donut and Kolaches spot!!! P.S. I know...one of the donuts did not make it to the photoshoot. When I read the words "DONUTS" and someone, anyone mentions the words "best ever" I've been known to drive a few miles out of my way to try them. History has taught me that unless it's Krispy Kreme you must arrive really early to get them hot - but I guess I'm either a slow learner or my addiction to these fried rings of dough completely throws my logical thinking into a frenzy and I go anyway no matter the time of the day. Even though it was mid morning and the traffic in this area is horrendous I drove the extra few miles out of my way to try them out. Located in a small strip mall next to a nail salon the exterior is less than impressive - but that's okay the magic I assured myself lies behind the glass storefront. First impression the front of the shop was very clean and organized, no one was behind the counter being there were no customers here when I arrived but after a few minutes one of the members of the staff appeared from the back of the shop to take my order. I had gotten an ice cold bottle of milk from the cooler before walking up to the counter and before checking out the selection of goodies, just as I would of expected the case wasn't very full. Lots of the trays were half emptied from the early morning rush I assumed and I knew although still fresh they would be ambient temperature at best but that didn't stop me from ordering a plain glaze and an apple fritter. As others have stated the donuts are light and fluffy even though this one was void of any heat but it was good - the apple fritter, it was just okay in my opinion on the smaller side and heavy. I can't say 'best donuts ever" and the staff although attentive wasn't engaging by any sense of the word but definitely nothing bad here I just wouldn't go out of my way to get here after this experience, but then again I don't know the donut options in the area so if the comparison is to Dunkin Donuts I can see why they get the rave reviews... read more

A small, family-owned shop next to Buster's (home of the Buster Burger) and Subway that specializes in tasty donuts. They have all of the usual donuts (cake, bear claws, donut holes, coconut, and glazed). I also saw some of the jelly-filled donuts, not sure what their common name is. I also saw sausage biscuits on the display menu and they still had one left in the case at lunch. The donuts were good and so was the coffee. They close at 1pm, so get there before then if you want some of their donuts. As for me, I will be back to try some of their other donuts. The private lot is small and gets crowded at lunch with all the people that go to Subway, so be prepared if you go later in the morning. read more
