ONLY CAKE DONUTS?!?!? When the average person thinks of a donut they usually think of a yeast donut. The airy donuts that make up the majority of donuts. If you think a bit more you might also think of the denser old fashioned donuts, often the blueberry ones. After a lot of thought you might recall those fairly dense often cinnamon sugar cake donuts. This store only sells CAKE donuts?! That's like someone advertising their store as a full on bakery and then ONLY selling banana nut bread. What's worse is they just sell plain cake donut rings and THEN after purchase slap some glazes and toppings onto them. But hey at least you get to customize your donuts right... right?! NO! The business model wants you to select from preset donut groupings. I was offered the "classic" set of six or the "party" set of six but I just wanted to grab one or two random donuts from a bunch of the different preset groupings. The cashier heard the word random and immediately rang me up for their "random grouping" which is a thing they have but it is not you picking the donuts to go into a random grab bag it is the donut topping jockey choosing them for you?! How is the idea of someone wanting to specifically pick out six different donuts themselves such an unheard of concept for this store? To the credit of the people serving me, when it was understood that there was a miscommunication after I had already paid they offered to let me pick out my donuts. BUT this was when, to my horror I discovered that this place only sold one kind of donut; a plain cake donut, that's it, and then an attendant would grab it with their gloved hand and dip it into this glaze or that glaze to "make it" a specific flavor. I was so disappointed I told the attendant to just top them however she wanted and almost asked to just not have my order fulfilled at all because what do you mean they only have cake donuts! IF you know exactly what you're getting into before you come into this store it is a great establishment for people who specifically enjoy cake donuts. But if you are a more casual donut enjoyer looking for maple bars, old-fashioneds, bavarian creme, literally any donut that is not a cake donut; this store is a massive betrayal of expectations read more

I finally tried Duck Donuts and was so excited because I've heard nothing but good things... but the service honestly ruined the experience. After finally catching them on a Saturday when they weren't closed early, we walked in and weren't greeted at all. One worker stood at the register, looked at us, then just walked away. Another employee came from the back, stood there, looked at us... and also walked off. It was awkward and confusing, like we weren't even supposed to be there. Yeah, they don't open at 6am despite what the website says. Manager blamed the owner for not changing the times on the website. According to the manager, they open at 6:30. I'm a paramedic and work 24 hour shifts. Last night was pretty busy so when I got off this morning I stopped by on the way home to get a treat for my wife and I because I heard this place was good. As soon as I walked in all the staff members were great and so welcoming. They explained the menu and recommended a few of their favorites. Second time here and decided to pick up a dozen for co-workers! There were two nice ladies there working and did their best to service everyone, however it was a really, really long wait for donuts! It took about 30 mins from ordering to receiving them which was a really long time. There was about one other order in front of me for 2 dozen and a breakfast sandwich and after I arrived probably 3 more customers. It was a Friday morning, so not sure if that's a norm? ‍ I learned that I probably should order ahead of time to not wait that long. I will say they were fresh and delicious but that really is a a long time for donuts. Several others looked frustrated at the wait, especially those with little ones. My office enjoyed them, so that was a plus and they stayed warm till I got into Nashville. They were also on the larger size which was cool. We ordered a half dozen donuts; S'more donut, mint chocolate chip, bacon maple, strawberry sprinkle, Oreos and a plan sugar donut. It's hard to say which was my fave, but the mint chocolate chip and the bacon maple are top contenders. Normally I don't like bacon infused sweets, because they tend to smell like dog treats, but Duck Donuts makes their bacon fresh and made to order! The S'mores donut was also fantastic! He took out a manual on how to make drinks and it made made me think of when I when I did the same at Jamba and how much I appreciated when people were patient with me as I learned to make new drinks. They were warm when I received the box and i was a little concerned how will I eat it with all the toppings but by the time I walked to the car, the toppings settled in and it was ready to eat. Fun, brand new place in the Creekside Cross shopping center. Today is literally their first day open, so they're obviously seeing how things go and how they want to adjust and be more efficient in the long run, so I won't nitpick on that. The donuts are super yummy. Everything starts with a cake donut made fresh that looks about 3.5 inches or so in diameter. Not enormous, but a standard-size donut. Then you can pick a glaze, like dipping the top side in chocolate or several other flavors, then a topping, like sprinkles. They can get pretty elaborate; they have bacon crumbles and other fancy things. You can also get a sundae with ice cream on top of a donut or a sandwich made from a donut. They also have milkshakes and coffee and hot chocolate and such. Obviously not a place you should eat every day, but super fun for an extra treat when you're in the neighborhood for shopping or other reasons. Fresh, fun, yummy, and way better grocery store donuts, especially since there isn't really another donut place in the immediate area. Bottom line, stop in and give them a try; it just might end up on your list of local favorites. I only wish they had some seating nearby to enjoy your food more quickly! read more

I loved the cakey donut and the different icing options and toppings. I really liked the maple and the chocolate glazed ones. These donuts have holes in the middle and arrive warm and fresh. They are cakey donuts with icing options. They are sweet and delicious! We didn't like the blueberry or lemon ones, but the chocolate and the maple ones were amazing.
