The audacity to call this thing a burrito should be investigated by the FBI. It's apparently wrapped in filo dough (pretty sure), which means it's baked, aggressively buttery, ridiculously doughy, and somehow almost raw underneath. This is not a burrito. This is a pastry having an identity crisis. The beans were basically the entire personality of the thing. Barely any vegetables. The egg tasted like it had been cooked twice, then sentenced to another cooking session inside the pastry. Everything was doughy, mushy, buttery, and sad. I took a few bites, stared into the distance, questioned my life choices, and eventually threw the damn thing away. And it's $10 now. Which I have absolutely no problem paying, IF THE BURRITO IS GOOD. The employees were very nice and kind, though. I don't know any of them and it seems like the whole crew is new, so this is absolutely not about them. But the only reason 8th & Roast remained on my personal breakfast map was that burrito. The resulting flavor profile was wonderfully fruity and a little chocolatey (from the Brazil- Blend), with very low acidity, exactly what I prefer. It delivered the precise caffeine hit I was looking for and felt incredibly refreshing. My husband's mocha, however, was a bit of a letdown. It was overwhelmingly mocha-heavy to the point where there was barely any discernible coffee flavor, so it was not a hit for him.
