As a coffee snob, I am always on the lookout for local coffee that is exceptional. Osa did not disappoint. I ordered the Cappuccino as I wanted to see how this establishment executed one of my favorite drinks. I waited a few minutes for the friendly barista to prepare my order. It was well worth it! The drink was smooth, not too hot, and offered a nutty flavor that drew me in. In fact, I consumed the entire masterpiece on my 3 minute walk back to my Airbnb. If you go, expect to order from an outdoor window. It is very popular, and I am not sure about parking. I saw one outside table that was mostly shaded in the morning light. Owned by Lesa Wood and Jack Egan, this is the satellite location of the coffee house that roasts beans in house and serves some up some seriously incredible creations. Order at the counter, sit down in a plant filled room, maybe read a book. It's the kind of place that has a very East Nashville vibe, with a building that appears to have been a former auto repair shop or something of similar nature. It's unpretentious, it's beautiful in its industrial revival way, it's a great place to meet a stranger. I was excited to try this coffee stand (or "micro-cafe"?) on Edgehill. I was left pretty disappointed, unfortunately. The store front is cute, with a few tables on the sidewalk for costumers to sit and enjoy. The barista was nice. Primarily street parking around, with a few paid lots. However, the coffee was clearly burnt and oddly watery. Without a proper interior nor the quality product I was excited for, I'm having trouble justifying the coffees' price (standard cafe price ($6+) ). This one of the only reviews I've ever written on this app, but I am so passionate about coffee that I had to... Two times I've gone here now. The first time I came in pretty relaxed. From the "vibe" the place appeared to have, I was expecting some artisan coffee. But instead what I got was bad service. The Barista was rude and lazy and my cappuccino was average at best with no love or effort put in. So naturally the second time I'm paying attention. Now I get when you're in a rush you have to tamp the portafilter quickly, get that thing in, and get the espresso flowing. But I had no one behind me and business was quiet, so I was hoping from a "craft" coffee shop to get some care put into the coffee's construction. Instead I got slop. Different barista this time, still rude, and still lazy. After ordering my cortado the barista gives a half assed off-angled tamp, notches it in, whips up some low effort steamed milk and then just plops it on top. Not even an attempt at any art. Then hands it to me with an unconvincing "have a good day"... If you want good coffee, save your time, money, and palate, and take it to the Well Coffeehouse instead, a literal minute down the road. Only redeeming quality was the beans themselves brew half decent. But again if you want more unique flavored roasts and just better quality, go to the Well. read more

I was super excited to try this place! I heard that this is one of the best spots for hot coffee in Nashville, and I would definitely agree. I got a cappuccino on my first visit which was delicious! The second time I got an iced mocha which was just okay. They have your basic flavors such as vanilla, caramel and mocha, but I think this place is geared more toward serving the coffee lovers and not the syrup lovers lol. I think walk up coffee windows are a great idea. This one has small tables on the sidewalk for you to hang if needed and a bench outside. The service here was fast and friendly. BEST. CHAI. EVER. It's unbelievably spicy, perfectly sweet, and not too milky at all!! Both the hot and iced versions are DELECTABLE. The workers are also super super sweet, and the drinks are honestly really affordable. You cannot go wrong. The workers always talk to me, and even gave me a free drink on my graduation. They have plenty of options, including decaf espresso. They also have Dozen bakery products. Mmmmmmm! The coffee is strong, per my caffeine drinking husband. No indoor seating, no problem. I've tried most of the coffee shops in town and this is by far my favorite. Great quality and friendly service from experienced baristas make this my "go to" coffee shop and most recommended to anyone that asks me. Their barista staff has very little turnover (none that I've noticed over the past two years), so experience and familiarity with their equipment makes for consistently amazing espresso. When we travel we look for coffee roasters, because anyone can serve coffee! But not everyone knows how to roast and craft it. Osa is definitely part of the small group that know how to do it all - with their no frills but very fun window service. I ordered a cortado which came quickly in a tiny to go cup. It was creamy but not too acidic which some cortados can be. My husband ordered a black coffee - the true test and really enjoyed their unique blend. read more

An ode to Osa is not enough with just a simple Yelp review. The staff are beyond friendly and the coffee roast is just...*chef's kiss*. Osa is the closest I've come to European style coffee at an affordable price in Nashville. Even in the pandemic, they are carefully offering cafe goers a shaded area to safely stand in line while socially distanced. Not to mention, they have an area where you can let your pup have a drink of water if you're going on a walk. While a modest establishment, every effort is in place to put the customer at ease, including great music each morning. The coffee itself is good enough that I once had a friend stop us in the middle of the work day to grab a cup each for her birthday. My personal go-to order is a Vietnamese expresso shot-turned-latte. I really like how flexible the baristas are. If you want your coffee a different way than they have it on the menu, they are super flexible. (Now, I'm not sure this goes for all, "non-dairy soy creamer, 1/2 pump of so-and-so" that you can pull at Starbucks, so take this with a grain of salt.) Osa also partners with some local bakeries (like Dozen) to offer scones, muffins, and other yummy breakfast goodies. A must! I recommend coming here when you can find parking nearby - Edgehill Village gets pretty busy and street parking fills up fast. It's best if you're going on a walk, and Osa happens to be nearby. Do be careful on the nearby sidewalks - I've tripped every other time on the broken concrete near the entrance. Otherwise, happy expresso drinking! read more
