I went here once, I liked their sandwich but I wasn't satisfied, bread was kind of hard and the stuffing in it wasn't that great. Some flies were inside the restaurant. I ordered the Chinese BBQ pork banh mi sandwich and a pineapple slush with boba. How can such a simple sandwich seem like a work of art? The crisp roll had a fluffy, almost warm interior - Fresh! The pork and daikon-carrot relish were each present in sufficient quantities, and seasoned perfectly. The pineapple "slush" was real pureed pineapple, a refreshing foil to the sandwich. The boba/sago/tapioca balls were cooked to perfection, not too soft and not too solid. This quick meal was expertly prepared, a real treat, and didn't break the bank. I'll return soon. read more

I went there to get 2 Thai tea bobas and 2 cold cut sandwiches. The lady who usually works in the front had a little girl made the drink as she took the orders. While the little girl was scooping powders into the blender, she turned over to the lady in shocked and had said something in their language. I assumed something went wrong, I just didn't realize it was my drink. They both exchanged a few words in their language and then the girl stepped away without finishing my drinks. I thought nothing of it but I continue to observed. The lady turned around to make drinks for the customers AFTER me. Then she just passes over the blender with my drinks to the little girl and had her finish making my drink. I didn't try my drink before I left because I was taking it home to my sisters. It wasn't until I got home to realize that my Thai tea bobas both tasted like cocoa. (It went in the garbage) Of course I wasn't happy about it but I live 15minutes away. I wasn't going to drive back and get it fix knowing how the front lady always tells you off when you point out that she had made a mistake because according to her, she doesn't make mistakes. I have no problem with the little girl learning to help make drinks. What is not ok is the fact that even though the lady knew the drinks were messed up, instead of making new ones, she just serves me the messed up drinks hoping that I won't know. And to top that off, she had the little girl finished making my drink and gives it to me. Is that her way of pointing finger at the little girl if I had actually came back to make a complaint? This place was a gem to find. They have fresh donuts everyday but the best part is their Banh Mi!! I get their lemon grass banh-mi extra spicy with jalapeños. The rolls are light, flaky, and served warm. The serving size is just right for lunch. They also serve boba teas which goes great with their sandwiches. this has been my favorite place to get boba , and asian subs . But this recent Monday evening i went in for a sub and thai tea , to make it clear "2 asain tri tip subs) I was waiting right in the front looking towards the kitchen . I hear the asain lady (the younger 1) sneeze really loud and she happend to be making my sandwiches, Tuesday morning i wake up feeling sick !!!!! Wednesday was the worse i was throwing up couldnt keep food down. I never got food poisoning before but this was just awful . i went to my Dr and he said it was Bacterial infection in my stomache. My nurse said someone must of not washed hands or the food was old !! :( i hope they get it together because everytime the older asian woman is there they seem to be on it.... I was wondering around Merced with a client today looking for a good place to eat, and she noticed the Donut King. Hey, I love donuts like most people, so we went in......This little place was better than good. First off, it says Donut King, but they have an amazing tasting sandwich called Nem Nuong....I believe that is how it was spelled! Not sure about how to say it, but i am sure about the taste, and that was: AMAZING!! My client got the Asian Tri-Tip and neither of us said more than 4 words until both of our sandwiches were gone! I also tried a Boba for the first time, thanks to the friendly encouragement from Michael behind the counter. Coconut to be exact...and now... Hands down one of the best places in town to get inexpensive but delicious asian subs. The service is great and if you call ahead of time with your order they have it for you when you arrive. Additionally, they have reward cards were each time you buy either a boba drink or sub you receive a stamp. After your 10th stamp you get the item free of charge. This is still one of my fav places to visit for a quick sandwich on the go or simply to enjoy a sorta healthier option (order the lemon grass chicken). Definitely recommend!! read more

The maple doughnut is delicious, the icing tastes like actual maple syrup and not just sugar with a vague mapley taste. They have a slightly crunchy outside and taste really fresh. The asian sandwiches are always great! They have the best boba smoothies in Merced, again the flavors taste like the real thing and they're very creamy! I've never had any bad food or drinks here! I really only go in for the large honeydew boba. If you don't have cash and use your debit card, you have to have $5 worth of stuff. Typically, I am forced to get a jellyroll. Had a "Chinese BBQ Pork" sandwich. Again, the bread was phenomenal, and the filling tasted fresh and well-balanced. The spice had a suitable kick to it--the peppers didn't burn my mouth, but they did make themselves known. The spread that DK used was delicious. A note on customer service--it's fantastic. The cashier was affable and efficient. The person who was making the sandwiches in the back--please forgive me for not getting your name--was dynamite. She was interacting with the customers warmly. I really doubt that you'll have a bad experience here, customer service-wise. In my experience, Merced eateries usually have above-average marks in this respect, and thankfully so. As an aside, the decor is wonderfully kitschy. Their bright orange upholstery and well-worn booths remind me of a bygone era of hot coffee, a crawler, and the paper. Gotta love this place. And also just to clarify, the other restaurant on yelp called MK's Donuts is the same place. Anyway, I've been coming here since I was a kid. We would get donuts on Saturday mornings and the same woman has been serving us for years. She made my boba today! So cute. Donuts are great and sometimes when it's slow they'll throw in a handful of donut holes for free. The donuts taste great as did my boba today. This was my first time having a sandwich from donut kings. I got the Asian season beef and I gotta say, it's pretty fantastic! I ordered for deliver and was able to choose the time I wanted it. The website was easy to use even from my phone, the descriptions of the food were so eye catching and in the case of my sandwich it was SO ACCURATE! They did not skimp out on the meat, the sauces are flavorful, the slaw is like magic, the bread is perfectly toasted! It's filling yet light and I'm in love. I also got the blended pineapple drink with boba and lychee and damn it's good. I also got donut holes and that I'll be enjoying thoroughly for dessert and for the midnight munchies. Wow what a find. Killer sandwiches. Just awesome food and cheap too. Not much to look at but don't care. For breakfast the Ham and chees with Jalapeno croissant is off the hook.
