I found an old school donut shop (Donut Den) around Essington and Theodore in Joliet. I had a French curler and a double chocolate donut with a French Vanilla latte. Everything was great. They make everything onsite unlike most shops nowadays (Dunkin Donuts). I would have had a better picture but i ate the donuts too fast. Went back on Saturday and tried a maple bacon long john! That thing is insanely good! Don't tell politicians about them, they might tax them or make them illegal, that's how good they are! read more

mostly everything about this place is good expect the fact that they stop producing wayyy too early in the day. Many times ive come in at 10:45-11:15am and they are just about sold out. Like really?? The store is open til 4pm most days and they call it quits with 4 or more hours to go... not trying to be a Karen or anything but thats one thing they can improve on. read more

The new digs are great. Change is often a good thing. Plenty of room to wait to order now and opening morning the donuts tasted as good as always. Finally tried the Chocolate New York Cheesecake and the German Chocolate. I love the Maple Bacon Bars and will be back on Saturday for them. No more den and the community table is possible with pushing a few tables together. read more

Me: Hey lets go to donut den to get some donuts! Friend: I am not hungry... Me: What does that got to do with anything!? Are they Gourmet donuts? Maybe Hand-made donuts? I have no idea but they taste absolutely amazing... I love the old fashioned shop this place is but it can use a make over. There really is no theme to it at all and every time I go there, there is about half a dozen old timers chillin' there. First time here and when I took my first bite of a raspberry filled iced donut I was like "OMG! Are you kidding me right now?!" It was the best donut I ever had! I can't believe it took me 7 years to first give this place a try. Their Apple Fritters are also outstanding. I'm super conflicted on this place. I will start with the five star, super delicious angel cream. This was the highlight of the morning. We ordered three donuts in total. I always get a chocolate frosted cake donut as my benchmark donut. The chocolate frosting had good flavor, but boy was the cake part dry. The oreo donut with vanilla frosting was too sweet and once again the donut was dry. I ordered a cup of coffee which was probably the weakest, worst cup of coffee I've ever had. Awesome service. Awesome donuts!!!! I come here mainly every weekend with my family and always get a dozen!!! Make sure you come a bit earlier because the line starts to get so long but it does go by pretty fast. Also the donuts are super fresh and so good. They have a wide variety as well which I love.
