Greeted immediately! It creates a complete different vibe when a business lets you know they are excited you are there. Even my 8 year old came out with a smile on his face talking about how welcoming James was! The excitement in welcoming people crosses over into the preparation of the cheesecakes. Love the food! The crust is thicker than most places, which I love. The ratio of cheesecake to crust is perfect for me. The cheesecake is not overly rich like some cheesecakes can be. Also, when James found out it was my oldest boys' 12 birthday, he immediately grabbed one of his mugs and gave it to him. Amazing place! Can't wait to get back! read more

We had the turtle cheesecake and the the snickers and both were amazing. There was so many to choose from. The owner James was extremely nice! I highly recommend this place!! read more

I ordered a $70 specialty cheesecake on 9/4 to pick up on 9/8 and pre-paid it . I even sent an email to confirm and got a response stating the order and a confirmation of the pick up day and time. My son went to pick it up on 9/8 and it hadn't been made. LOTS of excuses as to why and a promise to get a phone call by Friday, 9/11 with either a replacement or my money back. Of course there was no phone call. And no email. I have called three times and left messages and sent two emails with no response from James. It's now 9/16 and i am out $76 with tax and I have to chase this guy down? I should have known better. When the shop was in Crest Hill, the exact same thing happened when I ordered a sampler for Thanksgiving. I figured this place had to have its act together by now so I gave James another chance. Big mistake!! read more

What a wonderful human and experience!! James is living his best life and you can feel it AND taste it. Hard to find quality and love in a product these days and he has BOTH, cheese cake is fresh and delicious. His full of life personality and amazing cheesecake was the perfect way to end our chicago trip read more

James is very welcoming and extremely informative of his cheesecakes. The texture was cake-like, but as soon as you bit into it, it became into a soft cream cheese that has a well balanced flavor. The cream cheese is not too overpowering but just enough to complement the crust! read more

Somrtimes it is the service that keeps you coming back. Sometimes it is the delicious food that brings you back. In this case it is both, fantastic service, pleasant chit-chat, and fantastic cheesecake!! The girls at book club will be so happy I brought cheesecake tonight!! They also have a special heart shaped cheesscake to benefit Guardian Angel Home, my favorite charity! Betsy- Candidate for Will County Board read more

Great cheesecake & service! The strawberry and reeses cheesecake were delish, definitely planning on coming back!

It's pretty good cheesecake if you're hungry and in the mood for cheesecake. A lil expensive but great overall. I had the turtle cheescake and it was decent. BEST of all it's right near by Chicken and Spice! Bomb food there 4 sure read more

I appreciate James for everything he could for making sure I had a great slice of cheesecake( the Oreo and the Reese's flavored ones) I would give the Oreo a 6.7/10 it needs to be sweeter and taste more like Oreo and I would give the Reese's a 7/10 because it needs to embrace what a Reese's really is with the peanut butter and the chocolate and then cheesecake after. I'll come by again but this was a in the middle experience and I know you'll make it right, thank you! ~ Chauncey read more

Cheesecakes By James - Patisserie/Cake Shop Near Me - Shorewood, Illinois

Walked in right as they opened and James came out and shook my hand thanking me for coming in. Took home a couple slices and enjoyed the heck out of them. I'll be back soon for a slice of key lime! read more

The quality, quantity & the presentation! Walking into the location, I expected to be hit with the aromas/cheesecake smells & then be able to look @ a variety of different cakes on display to choose from, instead I was greeted with no smells & a sad little cooler with a couple of small slices of cake in there. I really was not going to buy anything because there was really no appeal but I felt bad & asked to purchase 2 small pieces of which were equivalent to buying a full large Eli's Cheesecake from Jewel, I was flabbergasted when she rang me up. I really don't see this brick & mortar staying open very long. read more

Amazing cheesecake! Loved the chocolate, the turtle, cherry & strawberry. Service is so friendly

The cheesecake was amazing! Only problem is I went there four times during the posted business hours, and no one was there! On the fifth time I caught them open, and it was really great! read more

Very friendly service. Many varieties of flavors. The location is convenient and very clean and well kept

Service was unfriendly. Cheesecake was average at best, and way overpriced. Then when I got home, noticed on my receipt that they overcharged me. The owner offered me a free slice in compensation, but the damage was already done. Unfriendly help, mediocre product, and can't trust them to charge correctly. Not a good experience. read more
