Visited today for the first time with my son. Because my town raves about this place, I was excited to try. They need to work more on their customer service. I had two very annoyed and upset staff members who waited on me today. We were not treated in a respectful way. I am trying to support local during these tough times, but please don't take your rough day out on your customers. Warning! Dunkin' will never satisfy your donut craving again. The selections range from classic to unique and Donut Den donuts are FRESH! Certain ones sell out super quick so you have to get there early to see the full menu. I've been going for 2 years and haven't been able to snag an elusive pretzel donut (but I'm never there before 8am either). There's a VERY regular customer base and the staff aren't rude but they don't cater to newbs either. The focus seems to be keeping the line moving efficiently, so they expect you to be ready when it's your turn to order. If you want to be able to ask questions and get suggestions from staff, don't go in the morning. If you want to go in the morning for the full menu to select from and aren't sure what to try, I'd suggest getting a dozen assorted. Minimally know how many donuts you want when you get to the counter, that helps staff pick which container your donuts will go in. My personal recommendations are fruity pebbles cake donut and the strawberry square. Their basic hot coffee is really good too! These donuts are worth any attitude or flack you will get from the regulars and your newness will wear off very quickly because once you go, you'll get what all the Donut Den hype is about. I've been going there for years, but the quality has definitely suffered since long time owner passed away. They used to use fresh ingredients but have since gone to the usual processed fillings..not worth the price anymore. I used to love going there every year for their paczkis, but this year wasn't good at all. Felt like they weren't fresh. Was embarrassed when I got them to work that day. Everyone usually loves them. Oh well. I would've recommended this place when original owner was alive, but the quality isn't there anymore. It's not worth the 25 minute ride i would take to get there. read more

On Fridays they have apple fritters, and while I don't care for apple fritters in general, I'm told by those who do that there are no apple fritters better than Donut Dens. Ahhh... good ol' Donut Den. They keep it simple and I like it. They're starting to become part of our Sunday ritual. I come here exclusively on the weekends, mostly Sunday's, and they always have a steady stream of people going in. The front end is large enough that it's never cramped even if there is a line and the line always moves incredibly fast. They do also have a number of tables inside so you could definitely make a leisurely morning out of a trip here. Outside of the delectable donuts, the one thing that sticks out to me is the general sense of happiness and friendliness that DD exuberates. Midwesterners are nice, but this place amplifies it (but truly it's probably because everyone is intoxicated by the smell of pure sugar). Not only do the employees great me and ask me how my day is going, so does almost every customer I pass... so then I start doing it when new people walk in. It's contagious. So on to the donuts. It's mostly the classics with a few innovative variations. They have both light and airy type donuts and the truly classic dense cake type donuts. The flavors are always fantastic and lately I've been sticking with their cheesecake donut because I'm a fiend for cream cheese, but I also really like their cream filled and I tend to try whatever special donut they have at the moment. Yum yum and YUM!!! Where can you buy a donut at 6am and it's STILL FRESH at 6pm??? Donut Den that's where! These donuts are fresh and the staff there is really nice. I ordered a dz of assorted donuts, medium coffee and powered munchkins. Brought them back to my family and they REALLY loved them. Compared them to Stans and Dunkin. The bakery is tucked away and is right off the Main Street, but think this place would do exceptionally well if off the main road. Nonetheless, I've found a gem who specializes in fresh donuts. Who doesn't like a great donut? I really enjoy stopping at independent donut shops and Donut Den did not disappoint! They had a great variety of flavors in both yeast and cake donuts. I had their German chocolate cake donut and a basic chocolate frosted yeast donut and I am not ashamed to say that I ate them both and wish I had gotten more! I typically go for a basic yeast donut but I still dream of that German chocolate cake donut and how fantastic it was. It's no surprise they are busy so I do recommend getting in early on Saturdays and Sundays so you can snag your favorite dozen! Best donuts place in the burbs! I come once a month to get donuts for the family and when we have guest over. The donuts melt in your mouth and you can't stop at just one! They have a variety of donuts to choose from and I recommend trying them all at least once. My favorite is the French toast! The plane glazed donut literally melts when you brute into it. We been going to this place for a while and we are a huge fan. The doughnuts are amazing and they have a wide variety and they are very friendly and polite. The only thing I would say holding me back from giving a five star review is their long john with bacon. They charge a dollar more for a piece and a half of almost construction paper thin bacon laid on top of about a quarter of an inch of maple frosting. I'd pay more than an extra dollar to get a thicker piece of bacon. I'd test it out on a few and charge what you guys think makes sense to test the market. I'd be willing to bet that they sell out and I won't even get a chance to grab one lol. That's nothing tho, I literally just reviewed one doughnut that is still good, this place as a whole is a great place and has been a go to for ya for the past 5 years. Update: so after looking at the pictures I noticed that they have other pictures and none of the bacon looks like what I got today. So I will re visit this review next Sunday to give it another shot. read more
